Unbelievable, the snorkeling here was great. The sealife was everywhere and not afraid of us

A great place to relax with terrific views and calm waters. It's very close to toilets, changing rooms and parks.

Fly Point is a fantastic snorkelling area. There is a bit of tree cover so you can stay in the shade. The snorkelling here is easy and shallow so swimmers of all ages and experience can snorkel in safety.

Beautiful spot in a gorgeous location! Just needs a fresh water shower facility to rinse off after dipping in the ocean water.

Fantastic place for snorkeling. Fish are found very close to shore and they are not that afraid of human. Goes to show how much a sanctuary can help the environment restore to its natural ways.

Check the swell and conditions. Depending on the weather it's perfect conditions or choppy and murky.

Got both on the same day, before and after a storm.

Nice beach for some sand play and swim with the kids. No waves and no crowds so the kids loved it!

The best walk-in snorkeling in NSW imho. Abundance of fish, invertebrates and sea grasses, but best accessed on a rising or high tide. Easy walk down from the car park, but don't go out too far if you are not an experienced swimmer, current flow can be quite strong

Great place to view the dolphins. Just be careful on the rocks (or better yet avoid the temptation for a better view of the wildlife and stay on the sand). Finding a starfish was an unexpected bonus too

I dive and snorkel this spot regularly with my family and we are never disappointed. The aquatic life is boundless. A great place for good clean fun in magnificent Port Stephens.

Everything good about our area. Water views, sunset views, surrounding bush and the occasional dolphins. Drinks, coffee, light meals or a full dinner menu. Perfect!

Always enjoyable to dive here.
Sponge gardens are abundant with marine life, and plenty of colour too.

It's a beautiful spot. Great swimming area for the family, a park with seating, bbq areas and amenities block. Popular area for scuba diving and snorkelling

There are oysters on the rocks n in sand and I cut my heal on one the waves roll in from the boats hard to keep your balance when stand to go in. We were disappointed for snorkling there and I can't walk on my heal.

Hidden gem. Can get busy at times and best time is definitely on the top of tide and slack water

Went snorkelling here based on reviews. Unlike what other reviews say, you can access easily without footwear from the beach on the southern side. Also visibility is variable - lots of sand stirred up in some parts, crystal clear in others. Mostly bream to see (thousands of them!) but also saw big turtles, some garfish and some kind of puffer fish.

Best place ever to get up close and personal with the beautiful sea life snorkeling at it finestest in the marine park

Highlight of our trip. We hit the water and saw soooo many fish. Octopus, puffer fish, massive flathead and heaps of bream. Great for kids. Must haves are snorkeling gear and surf shoes and bbq for afterwards.

Fly Point is probably the best shore based location to go snorkelling and scuba diving in NSW. It's a great place for families to visit as it offers a great opportunity for children, and grown ups, to undertake snorkeling in a location suitable for beginners. It's important to enter the water around high tide as this is when the water will be clearest.
