Fitness First Bondi Spring St Platinum reviews
22 I’ve had great experiences at a lot of the classes over the past few months in Bondi junction.
Miri is my favourite instructor for Barre Attack and Pilates. Yoga and body pump are also fun! I always feel properly challenged and stronger.
Instructors give excellent advice, share loads of information, guidance and exercise intensity options:)
I try to go at least four times a week but honestly, one class feels like the weeks money worth thank you
Antiquated equipment and fitout.
While the staff are extremely professional, friendly and fun, the fitout and ambiance of this specific fitness first are atrocious.
Here are a few main issues with this gym:
Almost all of the ceiling panels have stains from water leaks
Most of the equipment squeaks or is broken
There are not enough weights to fill the racks The TVs have a LOT of burn in
The AC does not work very well (there is a fan coil unit on the top level that does not seem to work)
There is exposed wiring where ceiling tiles are missing
There are ceiling grilles that are almost falling out of the ceiling
The stairs which everyone uses to go up and down between the levels has a heavy sewerage smell, that has apparently been a problem for nearly 10 years
A lot of the storage locker doors in the men’s change room do not work or are missing
The showers and shower heads are very old and some are leaking.
The bathroom ceiling tiles are wet from inadequate ventilation.
All in all, I’d expect better from a fitness first platinum, it would be great if this facility were upgraded to look like the facility in the main Westfield centre. Avoid this gym if you can, although the personal trainers and staff are excellent in every way, and definitely deserve better. They are the only reason to go to this gym.
Accusing my partner of letting people into the gym with him at 9pm after a day of driving. All he was looking for was a moment of silence and a good mental health workout. There was no proof provided, no consideration that they might have it wrong, untouchable head office service, slow generic replies and a fine for him to deal with. A fitness first specccial
Don't bother, run down and falling apart. As you can see from the picture been like this for over 12 months.
Terrible customer/membership support. I cancelled my membership 5 months ago, then 1 month ago direct debits started to come out again, staff keep playing the blame game on each other and still no resolution or expected refund date has been provided, and in that time another payment has come out.
Please please get another lat pull-down machine. There’s always like 5 people waiting for it and there’s only 1 machine. Thanks.
I can’t find 2 of the same dumbbells to save my life. PTs are rude, taking over machines for their clients without even asking. The bench I used was super stinky too.such a bad experience
Well maintained, not! From the moment you walk in to the dirty entrance and then up the fowl stairwell, the scene is set.
Equipment is old and most of the benches have torn pleather.
The wipe dispensers are often empty.
And don't get me started on the shoddy bathrooms.
They should be paying me $29/week to train at this hovel
Appalling service from the get go. Constantly lied to by customer service, didn’t activate my card. When I called to cancel within the 7 day cooling off period I was told I would be called back. When I asked who I need to speak to and said I will come in, they transferred my straight through and spoke to the person within 10 seconds. Wierd that they made it seem like the person wasn’t available but when I say I will come into the club, they are available. Glad I cancelled (looking at other reviews I may not have cancelled and they will charge anyway)
Very poor. Hoping to rejoin with kings cross as the home gym and use the other location in bondi junction.
My girlfriend cancel heraccount like 3 month ago and she still is getting charge, they explain a different version that the one they give us 3 month ago, carefull whit fitness first they are not good whit costumers, Jess is the manager on bondi junction, i have been here trying to get a solution and she was never here, today i can finally reach JESS and she didnt gave me any solution, terrible manager and terrible system.
Nice large open space GYM close to Sydney and great staff and awesome showers. Nice bright lights! So good!
Need wipes available to clean the machines after use.
Please check more often as it is annoying with the covid situation rising and not be able to clean after use.
Thks
Great gym, I enjoy going there mid morning not to busy, big open space and a good variety of equipment. I am usually the only one upstairs in the bike room.
My only complaint is, and call me old, but I have noise cancelling headsets, and enjoy a good tune, some times the music is so loud it comes thru and I can't hear what I am playing without turning it up loud. I don't think it needs to be so loud and I do appreciate we all have different tastes.
Great gym and a great Fitness First. I live in Darlinghurst but catch the train to workout here because it's a much better experience.
The equipment is in excellent condition, the change rooms are always clean, the staff are polite, happy, and friendly and the general vibe of the place and other members is really positive.
Keep charging me full membership even after the date of my contract has expired. After an hour wait on the phone and thought finally that has been sorted out. I found out weeks later they kept charging me again.
Not the best but it does the job; can get really messy in there with weights and stuff all over the floor, couple of broken machines now and again but they do tend to get fixed fairly quick.
Good range of weights and equipment.
Staff are always friendly and helpful on reception.
The PT’s always seem to acknowledge you and always look busy with clients.
Different floors; one for weights / boxing area and another for cardio / stretching
Rooms for different classes.
Toilet seat in the female toilet has been broken for months
Turn the fans on, we need ventilation.
Your average big box gym. Got everything you need, gets busy during peak and the music sucks. At least I'm ale to get a squat rack even when it's busy!

NO CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AT ALL
As soon as they reopen after lockdown they charged me for the first 4 days and the costumer service is very bad… I’ve been trying to cancel my membership and they keep throwing the responsibility to each other. I have sent two emails and didn’t get any response at all… I also went to the gym and some of the staff didn’t care much about my enquire as soon I said I wanted cancel… The fun is when they want you to join, they do everything, they give you all attention, but when you wanna cancel, they pretend they cannot help…
I called the costumer service and they couldn’t cancel, they said they can’t cancel because I have an ongoing contract… so what’s next? Why is it so difficult to cancel one contract?
I wouldn’t never recommend to have a contract with any fitness first
I expected more from this company… I just wanna cancel my membership, it’s not that hard
