Shayne has been managing our holiday rental property for 19 years. The service has been nothing short of exceptional and the team at First National have been a pleasure to deal with.

My relationship with Shayne goes back 10 years when she managed my first Yamba holiday rental. Last year when we once again purchased we had no hesitation in going back to Shayne and First National. Shayne shares the same passion and concerns that we do and is meticulous in her reporting, and delightful with her overall can do attitude. Nothing is a bother and she has normally thought of everything before we even have to address any issues. She is active, compassionate and a great local ambassador. Requiring 3 quotes for everyday repairs? I would have settled for 1. When a sink has been clogged repeatedly, it is absolutely fair to ask for photos from the plumber who is there completing the work to see what the obstruction is, especially in a house with 4 children. Otherwise why wasn’t it fixed the first and second time you sent your tried and tested tradespeople?
Photos aren’t a nuisance to the landlord or the tenant, only to the property manager.

In the situation of the timber post balcony (even though there were temporary props installed) I agreed with the urgency and settled for an over the phone estimate when the tradesmen arrived on site. You didn’t know the cost and I didn’t know the cost, you hired someone to complete a decent amount of work and trust that we didn’t end up with a cost we couldn’t afford. As usual communication was null.
While waiting for a response to 2 unrelated emails where Renae simply didn’t bother to reply, I continued to receive monthly statements from her which was actually the third point of friction in our relationship. I then received the bill for the timber post balcony of $900 that was completed some time ago. Thankfully the footings didn’t need to be replaced because it would have been thousands, still $900 is nothing to be sneezed at either.

I reached out to you, David, similar to your response here is what I received.
You seem to be familiar with this market leader, franchise status so you are charging a comfortable rate for yourself and providing a service to people who don’t know there is better out there. I have compared your service to the management of our other property, our neighbours who are real estate agents and now with the new agent of our Yamba property.

Perhaps you could take it on board but it is twice now, so I doubt it.

We terminated our contract with you without penalty as you breached the allowed limit to be spent without approval, you had no right to do that. As I said, getting too familiar.

I highly recommend Richard and his team for their exceptional assistance in selling my investment house. Throughout the ups and downs of the process, Richard was consistently supportive and communicated effectively. His dedication and commitment exceeded my expectations.

David and Richard and the team are extremely professional and informative throughout the entire experience. Getting us a great price and keeping us updated throughout. Would highly recommend the First National Team at Yamba and will continue to work with them in the future.
