First Creek Wines

I’ve been to Napa Valley California and vineyards in Italy and France, and this easily one of, if not the best wine tasting experiences I’ve ever had. The wines were great, but what truly made it special was our server Geoff. He was attune to our tasting preferences and super accommodating…we could not have asked for a better experience for our family of five! Excellent wines and value to match, 5 out of 5 stars!

Great cellar door experience with very knowledgeable people. Mike created a tasting range around what we were looking for, with generous pours and great stories about the wine. The Fiano is very special.

Loved First Creek Wines. The tasting can be more personal as they have a wide variety of options and you can choose what you want to sample which is really nice, e.g if you prefer reds then only sample reds. Make sure to book or call if you are going on the weekend as they can get busy.

First Creek was our first stop of the day while escorting international business associates around the valley as we had fallen in love with the 2019 Winemaker's Reserve Shiraz at dinner during the week. Sadly, the 2019 reserve is exhausted, but the 2020 is almost as good & purchases were made.

Our tasting guide was lovely & took the time to make sure everyone was enjoying the session & even made sure I, the driver, was comfortable & had plenty of water.

If you plan on heading out, make a booking as they are a small operation with limited space & as they like to be able to spend time with their guests to explain everything & help with selections they don't pack people in like sardines.

Definitely recommend! Very nice wine and great service by Rhys. By far he is the best Cellar Door host in Hunter Valley. He let us playing my SILs favourite music to celebrate her big 4-0 bday! And upgrade our menu for wine tasting. Thank you Rhys! We will be back!

If you only have time for one cellar door visit on your next trip to the Hunter - this is it! Delicious wine paired with knowledgeable and welcoming staff and a an exceptional cheese platter made this a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We will return.

Had a lovely experience with Rhys, he did his best to convert my wife to Chardonnay. Something of an uphill battle. But, with some success. Thoroughly pleasant experience. Highly recommend coming in for a tasting experience.

Friendly staff, nothing was a problem. Recommend getting the cheeseboard with your tasting - it features lots of beautiful local cheeses that you can only get in the Hunter Valley!
