Fig Lane Park reviews
12A quiet little park a two minute walk from home a gem in the inner city, family, child and pet friendly is where a lot of the locals go to for some recreation or just to chill.
My kids live playing in this well shaded, peaceful park. There is a good range of equipment for all ages with the equipment for smaller children fenced for peace of mind
Lots of seats and picnic tables shaded/non shaded. Water fountain available. Pram friendly. No bathrooms available.
Very good park for children. Maintained neat and clean.waste bin separately provided alongwith envirogreen plastic paper bags for removing animal wastes
It's a nice small local park. Got a slope and trees and water fountain and gas BBQ and tables and grass and a kids playset which doubles as an exercise station in the early morning, what more could you want?
A cute little Park. New equipment installed near the end of 2021. Swings and mobkey bats. Some benches and tables to enjoy a meal or play games. Not enough space to play ballgames. No toilets nearby and no food nearby. Good enough for fMilies with kids who live close.
Brand new and shiny! Old park has been replaced and now has new and varied play equipment! Open to the road though - so have to monitor the kids
Neat and tidy playground. The only let down is the noise and air pollution due to its proximity to a spaghetti of highways. At rush hour the diesel fumes are too strong to ignore. Not good for asthma or allergy sufferers
Fig Lane Park is bounded by Upper Fig Street, Jones Street, Fig Lane, and Bulwarra Road, Ultimo.
This land was part of the Ultimo Estate, a block comprising 232 acres made up of land grants to Dr. John Harris between 1803 and 1806. Harris lived in ‘Ultimo House’ which he built on the south side of Harris Street.
In 1879-1880 the first development occurred here with the construction of two-story brick terrace housing in Fig and Jones Streets. They were typical of the speculative terrace housing built during the 1880s boom for working-class rental accommodation.
The local cats clearly use this as their giant litter box. Watch out if you have a puppy, as they like to eat it!
Fig Lane Park is opposite the Ultimo Centre. The centrepiece of the park is a Port Jackson Fig which was planted when the park was established in 1996/97.
Paid a visit to this park after 13 years as it's still maintained and peaceful. Used to walk all the way here from were I used to work in Darlinghurst during my lunch breaks and how I missed this place.
Is a great retreat from escaping the rigors from work or home.
You can bring your dog here for walks, have a bbq and has a mini playground for the kids.
Closer to Wentworth Park light rail station with only 5 minutes walk down Jones St.
So glad this park is still around as just the thought of City of Sydney council didn't sell off to re-developers.
Very deeply aware of unity of Holy Spirit. Something I would call a prayer pleasing to my Father.
