Fernwood Women's Gym Penrith

I agree with the other reviewer the floor space is completely cramped and unsafe. The entire upstairs has been converted to pilates which is overpriced and poor quality. It's completely ridiculous that they expect us to pay additional to access les mills classes like grit and sprint because they moved them to fiit30.
Avoid tone the instructors are sloppy, with poor form and their presentation screams 'I just got out of bed'. It's really not encouraging AT ALL.combat used to be good, but the two new instructors need so much more training! The whole thing has just got worse since the new group fitness manager took over a couple of years ago.

I attended the gym for the first time this morning, after joining last night. The service was warm and friendly, gym is very clean and well planned out.

This morning I was greeted by a trainer who was inviting and made me feel very welcome. Thanks for that chat at 6am!

I’ve been at this gym for many years now and the recent developments have been disheartening. They have taken the whole open upstairs for Pilates, it screams money grab to me. They’ve moved almost all equipment into the small room upstairs, which is clearly unsafe and not applied to COVID social distancing regulations. You cant move without bumping into someone, no mirrors to check your form and you can’t even access one of the machines weight stack without tripping over a bench.

The downstairs is almost even worse. All the machines have been pushed too closed together. You can even open up the hip abductor machine without bumping into the leg curl on the right. This is absolutely ridiculous and unsafe. There is not enough room whatsoever. The squat rack is considerably dangerous as well, if someone was to fall back and drop the bar, they would definitely injure themselves and anyone else around them.

I only recently signed up to Fernwood gym. I've never felt so comfortable at a gym like I do in Fernwood Penrith.the stuff are so lovely, and being a newbie, learning how to do certain workouts and how to use the machines I would have felt conscious about looking like a dummie but I don't feel like this here. Also very happy with the classes available.really enjoying my first week here.:)

Ladies This is a secret Gem stone, staff are so friendly, equipment to suit every lady, enjoy your time getting fit and pretty for yourself. A must place to visit see the place for self and have fun.

The other day I was asked by a staff if I was a member or if I sneaked into the gym. HOW RUDEEE.canceling my membership there.

If you don't know your members, all good, but ask politely or check your cameras how did I managed to get in before you ask and offend someone like that.

I've been a member of Fernwood Penrith since it first opened almost 20 years ago. It has become part of my life. I value their highly professional standards, kind and knowledgeable staff, friendly atmosphere and promotion of everyone's wellbeing no matter what fitness level they have.

Thank you Mel for being so welcoming and on top of my many enquiries. Especially, thankyou for all your hardwork throughout all these COVID-19 restrictions. You seem to have combated them with ease and always made sure the gals were looked after. This is by far the most welcoming and inviting gym I have been a part of. Thanks!

A warm and welcoming environment with staff who are friendly, encouraging and genuine. The crèche is fantastic and the women who run it are incredible! Love the classes and instructors.

I have been a member of Fernwood since February this year and it’s the most positive life changing decision I have made! It has everything I looked for in a gym especially being female only.
The staff are excellent! Always professional and most importantly they really care about ensuring you achieve your personal fitness goals.
Whether you are someone that likes to do classes, do one on one personal training or just do your own thing - Fernwood ticks all the boxes and a visit to the gym becomes your happy place!

Mel is lovely and welcoming. All the ladies welcome you by name and make you feel at home straight. I've been training here for over 3 years and it is great to have a community of women supporting women. The creche is fabulous and they will go above to your children feel loved. All the trainers are wonderful! Thanks Fernwood, wouldn't train anywhere else.

I’ve been a member now for 2.5 years. I joined following the birth of my baby and I needed a place I would feel comfortable whilst I recovered but also a crèche where my baby would be well looked after. The gym hit all of my needs and exceeded my expectations. The staff are incredibly welcoming to both my now toddler and I. There is a true sense of family and also community of women with similar goals. The class timetable is full of options and times and the staff take on any feedback for tweaking. The facilities themselves are stunning, clean and Mel is always working on the next project to step it up a notch. Through the Covid restrictions, virtual classes and support was on offer and now stoked to be back like we never all had time apart.

My Wife & Daughter love going to Fernwood Penrith. My wife has been a long time member & has always been supported in her journey, whatever life throws at her. My daughter loves showing off the artwork she does in Creche. As a husband of a member I would recommend this club!

My wife trains here and can’t say enough good things about the facility and so convenient with the crèche for our daughter.

If you join please know if you're in a terrible car accident and in ICU you are expected to call them immediately in order to get your membership canceled or put on hold. They don't care if your unconscious in a coma, paralysed or and almost dead they will not refund your money when you show them the hospital discharge papers at a later stage when you are finally out of hospital. They will not allow you to use the time you paid for at a later date. I cant even comprehend why the owner Mel, would make such a poor decision. No compassion or empathy. AVOID FERNWOOD PENRITH!

After my wife had a baby she joined Fernwood Penrith, she has been really unhappy with her weight and fitness routine and felt embarrassed to go back to a gym. The staff at Fernwood Penrith made her feel so comfortable, welcome and offered her all the support she needed to get back on track. She is so much happier, thank you Fernwood ladies!

What an amazing gym - no actually more than a gym. I've found a great team of trainers who really care about my progress and my results. Thank you!

ABSOLUTLEY HEARTLESS! F you are in an induced coma and paralysed after an accident they will still charge you for the time you are unable to notify them. So awful! I just can't believe this business owner wouldn't even allow my paraplegic sister in law to use the months she paid for and wasn't able to use even with all the medical evidence to show she was hospitalised and in no condition to make a call to notify them. Especially when the rest of the women in the family were long term loyal members also. Don't give this business your money.

Fernwood Penrith is an AMAZING gym. Beautiful atmosphere and the staff are VERY kind and friendly, always make me feel welcome. Always willing to have a chat and help out! I couldn't recommend this gym enough!
