Fernwood Women's Gym Hornsby

Would have been nice to let people know that if your card declines a transaction that you get charged an extra $15 so for 2 weeks I paid $69 the lady that helped then offered no solution for it. Or a refund for not telling me about it (only the $15, not whole amount)

I took a medication with a strong pre workout when I shouldn’t have and puked rainbows in the bathroom. The receptionist was kind to check on me a few times and told me to sit in the dining area to be observed.

When I came out, she got another staff member to explain to me her experience with that same medication. Was very nice and informative. Told me to only take a smidge of pre workout and build up from there. This was April and Jamie.

I love fernwood hornsby. The vibe is so supportive. Everyone is friendly and encouraging no matter your level of fitness.

It’s a pretty nice gym, been a member for many many years. They used to have fresh fruit bowls and nut bars for us ladies but that doesn’t happen anymore. The machines used to have fans on them that would blow directly on your face. It was amaaaazing. That’s gone now.
When the machines start acting up or the display screens stop working it takes quite a while for them to be fixed I’ve noticed.
Resistance stretch bands used to be on offer but they’re gone now so we can’t use them.
They used to have staff walk around on hot days with cool face wipes to use. I haven’t seen that happen in many years.
The sanitisation wipes are constantly out so that’s not a comforting thing to have when you’re at the gym with 20 other women, we all want to stay as safe as possible due to Covid.
All in all it’s a good gym but was better years back. Would love for the things they used to do and offer to come back.
Would also be amazing if they had dairy free milk options for the little breakfast bar they have:)

I love Fernwood Hornsby. Walking into the gym gives me an immediate sense of well-being. The staff are lovely and very helpful. There is a good variety of classes and exercise machines, as well as a lounge area and creche. They are also very community-minded, continuing to sponsor the Hornsby Relay For Life Fernwood Lap Challenge, as well as other causes, particularly after the last few years which have been extremely difficult on many levels. The Hornsby Relay For Life organising team is extremely grateful for this contribution, which has helped to raise well over $80,000 for cancer research and support services.
If you are considering joining a gym specifically for females I can highly recommend Fernwood Hornsby.

There are so many lovely members at the Hornsby club, which make it an amazing environment to come to.

I didn’t think it would make that much difference being in an all women’s gym - but it does. Not to mention the staff, trainers and facilities are all top notch. I’m genuinely so glad I made the switch and love doing reformer with Bec!

Did not present me with the terms and conditions of the membership upon sign up. Failed to then email me my agreement and the terms and conditions after sign up. I have asked numerous times to have my membership cancelled as I was not presented with the terms of my membership, and they continue to charge me. They do not respond to emails, HO does not respond to emails.

The gym itself is great, nice classes and a good atmosphere. The issue is with the staff and when you try and quit they stop communicating and whack you with excessive leave payments? Typical franchisee gym behaviour now they won’t return any of my emails and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get them on the phone.
If you want a good service at a gym, avoid this one

I've been a member at Fernwood Hornsby for over 5 years and love it. The instructors are so good at what they do and so supportive. All the ladies in the gym really band together and there are genuine friendships made. The timetable offers heaps of different options and classes, as well as PT and lots more. Can't recommend it highly enough or love it more!

I’m honoured to be a group fitness instructor at Fernwood Hornsby. They gym is always clean and highly maintained, the management is top tier. They also have useful amenities, including a breakfast bar where I love to relax, have a cup of tea. They have a wide variety of classes and equipment, there is something for everyone. The location is very convenient, close to shops and easy parking super close to the gym.
Highly recommend this women’s only gym.

It’s very difficult during the Covid-19 lockdown, as we can’t enjoy our terrific PT, amazing classes and wonderful friendships, but also the supportive, understanding and encouraging feeling at Fernwood Hornsby.
I really enjoy coming to our gym.
I’ve been a member for many years and I just love opening the gym front door first thing in the morning.
It’s part of my routine - it’s my safe haven - it’s my happy place - a place where I feel confident and secure. It’s a place where you can be yourself and that’s a fantastic feeling.

Horrible bad experience with hornsby fernwood! Be careful when you end membership with them. I had 18 months membership with them. They will arrange new fixed contract for you without discussing you and without your signature. They are very personal business. They can decide how much to charge you and how long to charge you. So be careful with your direct credit card and check regularly, Especially when You end membership with them. And they advertised refer to friend you will get one month free. But when you ask, they will say” you always want free stuff! ” (That’s really horrible attitude, which made me very very angry.) they are very discriminated! And don’t trust their advertisement because it’s really just an advertisement!

Joined in January 2004! Across the many years my membership has been invaluable to me not only physically but mentally and socially. I love my gym and the women in it. Thank you Fernwood Hornsby.

The experience at Fermwood has been wonderful as all the Staff members are not only helping but supportive in all aspects. They make sure that you have been served by the staff member otherwise the trainers themselves would go all the way to help you out. All the Trainers are very professional yet always there to motivate you.

Clean gym. Friendly staff. Great equipment and lots of classes available on the timetable.
Child minding facilities available.
This gym has it all. Couldn’t be happier.

I have the pleasure of teaching BODYPUMP, LES MILLS CORE and BODYCOMBAT at Fernwood Hornsby. I love the members, staff, location, timetable and equipment. Fernwood Hornsby has a warm, inclusive vibe. There is a great variety of classes on the timetable and members can work to the level that suits them. The location is convenient for coffee and shopping afterwards too!

Great location. 3hrs free parking, friendly staff great trainers & classes. Crèche, beauty therapist & massage therapist on site.
