Featherdale Wildlife Park reviews
57 - If you are doing an open run, you should check the time of the bus (729?) you take after getting off at Blacktown rather than the train when you search on Google.
It seems like there is a bus departing from Blacktown and stopping right in front of the zoo every 30 minutes. The departure time from Blacktown is almost like a knife.why? I think it's because this is the starting and ending point of the bus.
- Open run is so difficult? Even if you set your arrival time to around 9 to 10 o'clock, it doesn't seem to have much of an effect on feeding and touching kangaroos (?) (based on weekdays.my standard haha)
However, after 11 o'clock or so, the children are stuck in the shade and do not come out often. Also, since the feed was spread on the ground, it was hard to get the food in the cup to eat. Please note.
- Up to 4 people can take koala photos even if only 1 person makes a reservation, and 3 photos (1 large and 2 regular) are printed.
It's a real photo, not photoshopped.
Looking at the picture.only koalas and children come out well.
Adults have spots, freckles, wrinkles, and gray hair haha.
(It's worth seeing if you retake the printed photo with a camera filter.)
- Do not capture the voucher, but show the entire file at the entrance and they will take a picture of it with their camera.
I just captured the QR for convenience, but it was useless.
- For your information, I heard that the food can be refilled at the exit after paying for it, but I couldn't find it and all the animal stamps were collected at the exit. I don't think there's any need to look at the map and look for the stamp.
Great for kids. You're able to interact directly with kangaroos and goats. Lots of other aussie legends as well, like koalas, wombats and tassie devils.
If you want to feed the roos best to get in early, when we got there around 1pm the feed was sold out (i think because all the roos were stiffed to the brim at that point:)
Animals from Australia. Unfortunately, the park's best years are behind it. Cost photos with koalas. Highlight: Feeding is possible in the kangaroo enclosure.
We were very disappointed with this so- called 'Wildlife Park and Sanctury' and will never visit again:
• bird cages were far too small & over crowded with too many different species in unnaturally close proximity
• animal enclosures were small, very bare, uninteresting & unnatural habitats
• total lack of park attendant supervision
• animal refuge areas/ safe havens were poorly sign posted & ineffective. There were several instances of inapproprite rough handling of the animals which was extremely disturbing.
Totaly agree with this past review: (

• bird cages were far too small & over crowded with too many different species in unnaturally close proximity
• animal enclosures were small, very bare, uninteresting & unnatural habitats

We witnessed a child dragging a small wallaby by its tail and a family encircling another while trying to pick it up. We were on our way out and notified staff at the exit. There was no staff supervision of open areas of the park on the Sunday we visited.
You can see all the animals of Australia there
It's not very expensive and you can even get a photo with a koala that you can pet and feed the Kangaroos
Very nice place for family
You must go here if you want to see the Australian animals in a short time.
Here is the lists for Animal. (You can feed them. They are very friendly.)
-Kangaroo
-Wallaby
-Koala
-Quokka
-Little Penguin
-Wombat
-Dingo
-Many birds
-Reptiles
and many pigions.
A fairly small park, good for young kids in that way. Not great at all for pram access. Very narrow in parts, and unsteady ground. Some of the same animals very spread out, so we saw quite a few of the same animal multiple times. I wouldn't imagine would be pleasant with large crowds because it wasn't very spacious in some areas. We went in the school holidays but it was a fairly ok sized crowd. Had to park in overflow parking across the road. A bit pricey for a day out with the kids. Kids under 2 are free.
The map was a bit all over the place and not clear to follow around.
Some beautiful birds at the park. Very cute kangas and koalas, and opportunity to feed and pat kangas. Although it seemed all animals were well fed, as they weren't very interested in eating.
A small but very dense park. It is possible to see all the endemic species of the a
Australia (except platypus). Kangaroo, Koala, Emu, crocodile.
I haven't visited Featherdale for a while but when it reopens, will definitely revisit to try and support this wonderful place. Highly recommended.
I can only say positive things about this park. There are alot of open areas for certain animals and we really loved the barn. Although the birds were in enclosures, they seemed fairly happy. The zoo keepers were super friendly and seemed to take good care of the animal and do theirs very thoroughly.
I highly recommend this. My one year old actually loved it too!
Fantastic day out, not too big and it's a wonderful way for young children to interact with animals
So many animals! If you want to see an Australian animal, you'll likely find it here, more than anywhere else. Pretty active too. Thoroughly enjoyed visit.
Great zoo with a large selection of Australian animals, we were able to pat the wallabies and kangaroos and feed them aswell. We were also able to pat a koala free of charge which was wonderful. Extremely large amount of native birds on display as well.
The park is easy to navigate, most paths are sealed. Animals are easily accessed.for friendly feeding. We went with a nearly 3 year old and he had a ball. Fed animals, patted snakes, picked up feathers, patted sheep, watched the keepers clean out water troughs, followed the visiting school kids.
We found Featherdale a bit on the expensive. Food and Drinks were pricey also. The birds and animals we great, though some advertised attractions weren't available. Friendly staff were helpful, so all in all, the kids enjoyed themselves.
Its a nice place, more bird life than anything else, great that you can get up and close with the Kangaroos, very clean and lots of places to have a picnic.
It is good to see Australian habitats, but there are too many people and animals in too small a place.
We, the TAFE Travel and Tourism diploma class, went here for our tour on 31st May. We all had a lovely time and the talk with Lauren was amazing! We were able to interact with animals up close and hold them during the talk at Leaning Burrow. The staff were knowlegable, helpful and kind. Thank you for the fantastic experience!
We love this wildlife park. Only Australian fauna. It is always to see animals free, but at least here they are well looked after.
