Great teachers, my son has a lot more confidence after starting with Family Self Defence a number of years ago.

Great place for discipline and confidence! It helps my little one to gain strength on herself as well a great self-confidence. Family self-defense has a high-level teachers who understand the students and their needs. I strongly recommend Family Self-defense castle Hill as they are also friendly and very professional.

My son Ethan has been attending here since he was 3.5 yrs old and turns 6 soon. I am amazed with the level of dicipline and personal development skills he has achieved in this time. When he attends other activities outside of the dojo, he always gets comments that he is a great listener and has such respect for his teacher's. Both coaches Margo and Evan are truly exceptional, they keep the class energy upbeat whilst having control over the whole classroom. Ethan also looks forward to playing the game at the end of the class, which is always fun. I would highly recommend Family Self Defence to anyone who wants their child to
become more confident and to build their personal development skills as well as, the skill set of martial arts

My son has enjoyed and improved a lot in terms of confidence and overall personality. I can recommend this place for any kid to look forward ad pursue the curriculum.

I like the way self defence is taught here. Unlike other self defence places, this one has a practical approach and help people feel more confident in any circustances. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They teach people of different ages from kids to adults. Good for fun and exersices. Also, it has several branches in Sydney.

Fantastic place to bring your kids, we have our twin boys here at the Castle hill classes and they love it.
They have become more confident and feel the difference with each lesson.
Highly recommend and at the end of each lesson the boys are exhausted hahaha,

I attended Family Self Defence Academy at
Castle Hill, I like the way the instructors guide you through strategies. It’s a great training environment, it has awesome instructors with advance knowledge.

Sent my kid almost a year. Total rip off - heavy fees but no value for money.same center in different places have different rates.especially castle hill is charging more! Not recommended!

I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Way overpriced, they require a notice period up to 6 months! And we are talking about children here who can change their mind, have different interests etc, you may change your location and it will become hard to take children there, but you still need to drag your child to the class even if he/she doesn't want to go anymore or loose a lot of money! There are a lot other good places around which don't require such a commitment and cost a lot less. The classes are overcrowded, often my child was not attended to and did nothing for 10 minutes of the class (which only lasts 40 minutes by the way!).

My son has been going for the last 6 months and really enjoys it. It has helped build some strength and skills all whilst he has fun. It is not cheap but the price includes all equipment and gradings so I think it is a fair price. Class sizes are usually small (around 10 to 15) and well run. I agree the notice period is a bit onerous but I am sure that could be negotiated.

My kids love attending classes at Family Self Defence (FSD). The instructors are fun but direct making sure the kids are focussed when they are learning valuable self defence skills and techniques. In addition to the physical aspect, the school have an all rounded approach to discipline with a big emphasis on hard work, good manners, fair play and respect.
I thoroughly recommend FSD. It is the perfect foundation for kids and also a great place for adults to learn the art of self defence.

Great place to discipline your 3 year old. My daughter have been going here since she was 2 and half and now she’s 6. Not only she’s disciplined, she knows her kicks, punches and blocks, she is also very active and has stronger and sturdy limbs.

Very friendly and professional instructors! Classes are organised beautifully and discipline growth in kids is extravagant! A wonderful program 100% recommend! Free trial is also included for people testing the waters!
