Breathtaking viewpoint, without too many tourists and parking is free!

An easy wheel chair accessible walk starting from the Govetts Leap information centre.
45 min return on a flat walking track that leads to an amazing lookout. A great way to end a day of hiking

Lovely walk that meanders at a gentle gradient through the bush from the Info Centre down to Govetts Leap carpark and lookout with a stunning additional lookout, George Phillips, almost at the bottom. My husband uses a wheelchair so I usually drop him off at the top, then drive down to Govetts Leap carpark and leave the car there to be able to load the wheelchair back in. I walk back up the path beside the drive that leads to Govetts Leap, meet up with him and enjoy the beautiful bush path down. Unfortunately, with works going on at GL, we can no longer do this as access for the car has been blocked and it's too much for me to push him back up the path to the Info Centre carpark. If you've got an electric wheelchair or a child in a stroller this wouldn't be a problem. I hope the changes they are making at GL will allow for cars to proceed once again to the bottom of Fairfax otherwise there will be no accessible lookouts in Blackheath anymore. Govetts Leap and George Phillips were the only ones. Even the accessibility access they are putting in at Evans Lookout doesn't seem to take into account the problem with being able to return an adult in a non-electric wheelchair back to the parking area once you have got down to the lookout. They really need to plan these accesses better. Most of the lookouts in the mountains do not provide easy acess for disabled adults.

Fairly easy walking tarmac with stroller and wheelchair access. Takes about 20-25 min.each way.
