Faheem Fast Food reviews
67We had dinner tonight. Worst foor, raw fish, chicken karahi worst then worst, chicken tikka v poor not fresh, seekh kebab smelly and v bad tast…. And customer service 0/10. V rude and unprofessional behaviour. I complain them and they were like who cares
Asked for tap water. Told that they don’t provide it. Food was good although waiter was sullen. Overcharged and had to go back for refund. Absence of tap water very poor. No other restaurants in Newtown refuse to provide tap water.
Everything about this place is exactly how a fast food Pakistani joint should be. The food is quickly brought out, all deliciously cooked and a great price also.
The staff are attentive and the decor us understated as it is a fast food restaurant but I wouldn't have it any either way.
Thank you so much for being a great part of the Enmore dining community. My favourite place to eat!
I'll start with the good. Ordered Nan, Nihari and Lamb biryani - see pic. Nan was very good and Nihari decent. The biriyani was greasy and the meat although marinaded was dry, would not recommend.
Service is average at best but that's a known as it's an eatery. However, I had a bad experience where I was not served the biriyani that I ordered. A genuine mixup with them bringing chicken instead of lamb biriyani. Once we noticed it part way through eating and let them know, they were hesitant at first to replace. Then reluctantly came to replace but to make matters worse they said only the portion that we had not eaten would be replaced which is 80%. It's not possible to see the meat under all the rice of a biriyani at first glance and instead of apologising for bringing out the wrong order, they decided to insult the customer suggesting we had deliberately eaten a portion of the biriyani. Never had that experience before in my life.
The place is cash only and you have to pay $2.75 from the ATM in the store if you don't have enough cash on you.
Seems like the owners are not aware of how much Sydney has progressed with the quality of the restaurants around on food, service, cleanliness and cashless payments. Feels like they are stuck in a bygone era and happy to risk losing their reputation they built in the past through neglect.
I ordered haleem, kebab and kheer through uber eats. Kebab and kheer was stale and no longer to eat. The bad smell comes from kebab and kheer.
Cheap but not cheerful- don’t expect hospitality vibe here- the team don’t seem to like their jobs or customers much, and I didn’t even bother letting them know our meal was cold because it seemed likely to be treated as not their concern. And we’d just had a long discussion with them about whether one of us could have tap water. No, apparently! Only dining place here or overseas over ever dined where tap water was in the ‘too hard’ basket. Shame
Been coming here for more than two decades. Yes, not as great as it used to be. Depends on who you get making the food, and best not to go for lunch on Sunday as the staff look like they are barely awake.
Curries are okay but then they are usually pre-made. Fresh naan is nice and warm. But the unforgivable for us was being given pre-cooked tandoori chicken from the previous night (we saw it removed from the foil packet) and warmed in the tandoor, making it burnt and dry - and still cold - with hardly any meat because it had been heavily slashed. Faheems may be an institution but they are better places for Pakistani cuisine in Sydney.
I ordered takeaway over phone and went to store to pickup. No was at the front, when I open the door a bell rang and still no one was responding. Since they arranged the table to restrict further entry, I stayed at front and kept knocking the table and shouting for response.
After 5 mins, I called the store phone and asked the guy to attend me. He came to front and started shouting at me as to why I called and was lecturing me how the automatic door bell works. I tried explaining that I was waiting for more than 5 mins without anyone attending me, but he didn't bother to listen and was more worried about how I disturbed his work by making the phone call.
NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN
Was just OK. Miniature portions of biryani and vindaloo. Naan was burnt on the outside and doughy on the inside. Tandoori chicken was same as the naan, moist inside, but very burnt outside. Didn't even feel interested in touching the free salad.
Choose your dish carefully as they make some really amazing stuff and some of their dishes are average at best. Their tandoori chicken, naan, brain masala (yes its made with brains), shaami kebab, sheesh kebab and nihari are all amazing.
Just order a butter chicken tonight, first the foods arrive cold let's put it aside as this can happen.but I have to say I could have order a tomato sauce with rice and chicken that would have been the same taste.where is the butter chicken taste? !
Never again sorry no love and care in the cooking here.
Loved their naan breads and roast tandoori chicken! Chicken tikka was also pretty good. Service was okay.
Got some takeaway from this place - we had some naan bread and 2 curries - butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The butter chicken tasted ok however a bit different to what I’m normally use to - it was more sour than sweet. Chicken tikka masala was rich with ingredients and chicken pieces was tender. The naan bread was fine however might be more flavourful if it was cooked in a tandoori oven.
Overall decent curry at an affordable price!
Tandoori chicken tikka and beef nihari top of the chain in Sydney.
Rest of the food is good, service OK.
I can't quite describe why and how good Faheem's is. You simply must experience it yourself. Get the Brain Nihari, Yoghurt sauce, mango chutney and some rice, let it dance on your taste buds then wash it down with some mango Lassi
We went there for a cheap and quick meal after a dance class. We had 2 vegetarian dishes, which were fine. Nothing hugely amazing. The decor is terrible, but we were there for tasty food. What really lets this place down is the very poor service. All the guys there were miserable, rude and cranky.
Bloody racist people.i came here to get tea and person said rudely that he doesnt has it which i am unable to beleive. I am sure if there was a local person he would had given it. I pray that your business shuts down.badwaa
Delicious. It has a classic, simple look for dining & takeaway and I loved their authentic beef vindaloo.
Place is noisy and mostly filled with Pakistani customers. Food is OK, but beware that their definition of spicy is different. You will not be able to eat it at all.
Actually trash service. Unhelpful. Rude. Zero stars. Minus 0. -583920292848321003 stars that’s how bad
