Second time rafting with Exodus. Got to do an extra category 4 rapid that we missed last time! Overall super fun and relaxing experience. Dingo and the lads know their stuff!

Had the best rafting trip on the Nymboida with Dingo on Saturday 26th February! Due to flooding Dingo and his guides took us on an 'alternative route' as the river levels were too high for the normal trip. It had it all, great rapids and fast flowing. From the transport, the guides, the food, the company on the day, Dingo you are a legend! Well done to you and the team. We will be back.

Wonderful, fun, relaxed, respectful and exciting family rafting adventure! We shared our boat with another family with kids that have autism. Dingo, our guide, made sure everyone understood the safety rules and had a load of fun. He is an excellent guide that made the whole experience such a joy.

Would definitely recommend white water rafting on the Nymbodia river. Fantastic rapids and even better tour guides they were very informative and knew a lot about the river. They kept us safe the whole trip.

My family went on a camping nearby and I decided give my teen daughter a surprised present. We went on a 1-day white water rafting trip. She did not have much expectation from the trip as she knew little about white water rafting, but was thrilled with excitement afterwards and said it was the highlight of her holidays. We would do a 2-day 16km trip next time and hopefully bring friends. I have been on white water rafting before and loved the experience every time. Nymboida River is so beautiful plus the great instructors to provide a very thrilled and safe trip.

We travelled down from Brisbane for the 'Big River' rafting trip and it was definitely worth it! All of the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure our safety and enjoyment were the main goal (thanks Sam, Matt and Dingo). The 'Big River' trip was a great adventure and covers 9km of the River from Platypus Flat Campground to the Cod Hole Campground. On reflection, we all wished we had done the 'Extreme' trip which extends the trip by another 7km.
The company can be a little difficult to contact due to the limited internet/mobile reception where they are based, but they always called back in the next day or two.
Highly recommend their rafting adventures!
If you're looking for somewhere to camp before/after this trip, I would recommend the Platypus Flat Campground. Toilets, BBQs, fire pits, picnic tables and a beautiful spot to camp right on the river.

This is long but worth the read if there is any chance of the conditions being unacceptable for rafting when you are booked in to go…

Had planned to go on a single day rafting trip with Exodus Adventures with myself and 4 mates. A major weather event got in the way which is fair enough not the fault of Exodus and could not be avoided but what could have been avoided was the events that occurred as a result of outright lies and deceit from Exodus. So here is what happened…

17th February 2021: Booked and paid for rafting for 20th March.
6th March 2021: Got an email from Exodus saying that they had overbooked for the 20th but spots were available on the 27th so we all moved other commitments so we could go on the 27th instead.

18th March 2021: Weather event with major flooding began. We were open to the fact that we may have to cancel or postpone the trip if weather was bad enough.

19th March 2021: Contacted Exodus by phone due to concerns of the river being flooded and the rafting not going ahead. Was advised that the rainfall was NOT affecting the Nymboida river as the ground was sufficiently soaking it up before it reached the river. We discovered later when it was too late that this was a flat out lie.

22nd March 2021: Received a hopeful email from Exodus confirming that the rafting will be going ahead and that we should… and I quote… “Be prepared to get wet! ” just as the rain event was easing off. This was the point where we decided to not cancel our accommodation in Coffs Harbour (5 hr drive away) and keep the booking based solely on trusting the information coming from Exodus was accurate… It was not.

23 March 2021: Received another email from Exodus advising that… and again I quote… “There is a lot of concern about the weather and flooding, however last week people cancelled before the rafting date and it was actual one meter under our maxim water level cut off. ”

26th March 2021 at 4: 29pm (the day before the rafting trip) : Advised by email and SMS that the rafting trip had been cancelled just as we were driving into Coffs Harbour. Advised the next day after I had asked that the water level was 400mm above maximum.

All communication was from Dingo at Exodus throughout this process. The evening of the 26th March I contacted Kactus Rafting via Facebook to ask about the conditions of the river. Kactus works with Dingo as a guide as it turns out. Now since he obviously is a guide but has no involvement in the operation of Exodus, he was honest. I asked him about the water levels of the Nymboida river currently (evening before the cancelled rafting day) and the conditions the weekend before (when it was apparently 1 metre below the maximum level). Kactus advised me that the water level was currently about a metre above so it was dropping and getting close to OK, and that the river was not even accessible due to a bridge on the way in being flooded over. Doubt this happened the afternoon before. Kactus also advised that the weekend before it was possibly 5-6 metres above maximum. So someone was lying and I think I know who that was hey Dingo.

So basically instead of accepting the fact that the weather had rendered the river impossible for rafting and advising us, being their paying customers, they did everything they could to get us up there still for the smallest of chances that the river conditions would be suitable for rafting so they did not end up out of pocket. They did not care that we had travelled and had the expense of accommodation for nothing. Had they been honest about conditions we would have rescheduled to do it another time.

So why is it now the 6th of June before I am writing this review for something that occurred on the 26th March? That is how long it took for all our group to be refunded.

Exodus Adventures the worst company I have ever dealt with for customer service and would advise anyone to try raft somewhere else or with another company unless you are damn sure the condition will be good and have a last minute exit strategy, because last minute advise of cancellation is all you will get.

Very disappointing. Our initial booking for rafting was rescheduled as Exodus had overbooked and didn’t have enough guides. Although communication was extremely poor from “Dingo” a date was locked in and confirmed. Following a week of heavy rain, concern that this would not go ahead was shared amongst the group although Mr “Dingo” assured us that it was going ahead and that “people cancelled unnecessarily last week”. So we booked accomodation and went ahead.
This was a mistake and as we were all beginning to arrive in Coffs, an email was send cancelling the event. We had all travelled a minimum of 4 hours for this level of bulls$&t.
To make things worse, a local from the area later informed us that the road to access the river had been closed for days due to flooding!

Personally if this wasn’t part of a mate’s 40th (and it meant a lot to him) I would have requested a refund following the first stuff around. There’s plenty of nicer places I’d rather spend a weekend.

Absolute joke. Don’t do it.

We did the single day rafting tour, big group, 12 of us.
Everything was spot on, the guides are amazing and the location Primo. So much fun!
They also organised a pretty sick bbq bonanza at the end of the adventure.

We did a family rafting tour for our family of four. The scenery and river is beautiful. Our kids had a ball. What really made the tour though were the people. A massive thanks to Renne, Cactus and Dig. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous guides with lots of experience & knowledge about the best way to tackle the rapids. Plenty of preparation on land before setting off. Particularly liked the kayaker guy who was nearby to help with advice when we tipped out of the raft. A fabulous family experience.
