Ernest Hill Wines reviews
60 My husband and I had a lovely time at Ernest Hill, looked after by Lesley. She was full of information & was very hospitable.
We especially enjoyed the muscat “Christmas in a glass” which was served in a warmed glass. Super tasty. Thankyou for looking after us guys
Good presentation walked our group through all the wines and offered things off the menu.
Leslie was a great guide.
We were lucky enough to be hosted by Ross Williams who was happy to give us his undivided attention during a wine tasting. Thank you Ross.
This winery was so cozy and homely - Lesley our lovely host did a fabulous job on the wine tasting for our large group. She cracked jokes, tailored the tastings to our preferences, was super knowledgeable - and just genuinely seemed to enjoy her job. The wines were delicious and we all bought way more here than anywhere else - highly recommend this lovely family style winery!
Great wines… ended up leaving with a lot of them wines.
Great service… so much knowledge.
Will definitely go back here.
This wine tasting was amazing and for only $5 per person, it was fantastic value. It was our first ever wine tasting so Meg showed us how to do it properly! Very good explanations and just a lovely family owned feel to the place. Would absolutely recommend! We walked from the Wine Country Tourist Park, but would recommend grabbing a cab as it’s a little dangerous along the main road to walk.
One of the best wine tasting experiences we've had! Great location and some very enjoyable wines. Special mention about the super super friendly and knowledgeable staff who really went the extra mile explaining about the wines and answering all our newbie questions:)
Absolutely top class, it’s easy to see why this winery won the Dark Horse vineyard award. We enjoyed a full tasting, including the of the winery and region that delivered well above expectations.
Lovely staff and great wines.
Anne was very pleasant and informative upon our visit to the Hunter Valley. Very accessible and super tasteful selection of white and reds. Definitely worth a visit
So impressed not only with the wines but also being hosted by Stephanie made the whole experience so much fun. Her friendliness and knowledge made the time fly by.
I am a friend of Pam, tonight I had my last bottle of William Henry Shiraz 2011 an amazing wine I also have the verdello and semillion in my cellar
I personally enjoyed every wine at this place. The product knowledge that Lesley had was incredible. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone coming to the Hunter for wine tasting.
Anne was great. Get yourself down here and have an experience and education about wine making. Great experience and highly recommend.
Such a beautiful winery, staff were kind, helpful and weren’t judgemental about any questions we had. Can’t recommend enough
A wonderful location. The hostess had an incredible knowledge and was able to express it in simple words so that we would have liked to stay there all day. Highly recommended.
Had the best experience at Ernest Hill! We visited a few wineries on our trip to the Hunter and this was by far the best one! Our tasting was extremely informative and the wines were great. We had Anne leading our tasting and she was fantastic! 10/10 would recommend.
We had our first wine tasting in Hunter Valley at Ernest Hill winery and it was a very nice and informative introduction to the regions’ wine varieties. The tastings were well paced and Jodi was approachable and took the time to explain the tasting notes, even serving us the extra tasting of fortified wines in warmed glasses to optimise the aromas and tasting experience. Highly recommended to drop by for a tasting at $5 per pax.
Hands down the best wine tasting experience ever! It was such a joy to have Neville take us through a line-up of delicious wines, most of which were named after the owners family members. So good we had to grab a couple of bottles to enjoy. We were here for a 10am tasting and saw kangaroos on their vineyard too!
We had Anne for a tasting session and she was brilliant. Very funny and informative. Started 10am and feel drunk already - should have had breakfast
