Equilibrium Psychology

Very unhappy and found these guys were all about the money.
Firstly the psychologist I was paired with was lovely.
My issue is with the business itself.
Firstly after my initial paid visit I cancelled one of the following ones over 48 hours in advance but was charged anyway as the date was incorrect on their system. Also when I received MHCP I didn't think I needed funds so advised I would fix up on following visit. I was hounded with collection emails almost immediately advised I would not be welcome back until this was paid. Then I was only reimbursed less than half of paid visit and then advised they don’t bulk bill there so I would still be out of pocket despite the 6 visits I received I assumed were covered under MHCP and no one there explained any differently. Won’t be going back as clearly feels like the money is the only thing they’ve really are concerned with before the welfare of their clients.

Was on hold pretty much all morning. Turns out everything was down. Phones, Eftpos, Internet. The receptionist was working via tethering her own mobile.

Was booked in for a phone appointment by an "olivia",
I Waited for over 2 hours next to my phone and made sure I was in a quiet location with good reception
NO ONE CALLED!
When I decided to call them back, the same receptionist woman answered & didn't even bother to apologize or explain to me what went wrong,
With an arrogant attitude all she said was I can book you for another day

Paired with a psychologist, who's first impression I was not fond of. And let me tell you, first impressions last! The company is slightly a lie, and has been using my knowledge to gain clients, and much more. Beware! Psychologist should not manipulate their clients or take advantage of their intelligence. Just because you have a four year degree, does not mean you are smarter, or make more money than the rest of us! TRAIN UR PSYCHOLOGISTS BETTER! And stop using my ideas:)
I told my psychologist how I felt about her ill manners, and bothersome behaviour. And it did nothing! Not totally im[pressed or pleased with this company's "progress". The truth will prevail!

Such a pleasant & amazing experience! I had the pleasure of seeing Kate Davies. She was thorough, kind, professional, and everything you would hope for in a therapist and more. Would give Kate and the Equilibrium Psychology team 6-stars if possible!

Dishonest and almost 'dodgy' business. Not commenting on the psychologists; however, the business itself needs improvements.

After being quoted $225 per session several times, they are now trying to sting me with a $15 surcharge per session because 8: 30 am start counts as after hours. After sending me two invoices at $225. They also did not even mention the surcharge while booking me to three 8: 30 am sessions on the phone.

It is not about additional $15 per session. It is about how I am treated and how they use 8: 30 am as part of after hours which they failed to advise and charge before.

Reaching out for help for the first time can be a very daunting process but the team at Equilibrium guided me every step of the way. The lovely receptionist I spoke to booked me in to be matched to a specific Psychologist which made me feel really taken care of and listen too. The match was spot on. My sessions with my Psychologist have been so important over the last few month and cannot thank the team enough.

Highly recommended! From the first email enquiry to the matching process to find the right psychologist and their availability that same week! I’ve been seeing Mary Nelson (by Zoom) during the lockdown and she is professional and really helping me through my complex issues. Also happy to have the GP referral for the Medicare 20x sessions, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to afford so many sessions. Thank you everyone at Equilibrium!

This clinic is in the perfect location for those of us in the city. The staff are always friendly and professional, creating a peaceful atmosphere making me feel at ease immediately. There is a wide array of psychologist avaliable to see with experience is a multitude of different areas. Couldn't recommend this practice more highly!

Your reception team were so warm and friendly, the whole experience was easy from start to finish. The work your team puts in does not go unnoticed.

Very unprofessional service, match to the psychologist is like lottery without any interview just who is free is assigned. So forget about any better psychologist. Customer service try sounds professional but just push to make a decision if you wanna go to someone who you do not like or do not come at all. I am not unhappy I am disappointed that service like that exist.

Pikria Meladze is brilliant! Highly recommend Pikria to the Medicare eating disorders mental health plan recipients and anybody else who wish to harmonise their relationship with the food.

Highly do not recommend this place. Very busy clinic. The psychologists don’t even have time to see patients as they themselves have too many. Have to book a few weeks or a month prior to be able to see a psychologist but of what help they can be if it were a crisis or urgent matter.
If you are not on medicare, it is very expensive. One session is $220 an hour.
According to their clinic policy, the psychologist cannot provide any documentation for insurance, legal matters or academic purposes. Very rigid policy. Please check with their policies before applying to seek help from a psychologist here.
Very rigid and old fashioned way of communication. My psychologist only works on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. According to clinic policy, she can only receive and respond to emails when she is in office. So, it is hard to contact them when they are not in office especially if it were a very urgent matter that required their attention.
Been seeing this psychologist for the past year at this clinic. The psychologist initially had a treatment plan for me but never really did what she promised over the course. The first 3 consultations were just talk about how this plan will help me without doing much and as you can imagine one session is already very expensive. At the end, she didn’t really stick with the treatment plan as promised. There were just a lot of talk without the action of the plan.

I cannot recommend Equilibrium Psychology enough. As a small business owner, the service provided by EP for our EAP (Employee Assistance Program) is second to none. Highly professional staff from the front desk to the wonderfully experienced Psychologists. The location, the atmosphere and the splendid service makes the whole experience ideal. Thank you for your service Equilibrium, we will continue to work with you for our EAP for a long time to come.

I would almost go here for fun. From the initial intake, to the receptionist, to the actual therapy sessions, I felt right at home. I was seeing a different therapist before I started going to Equilibrium, and felt like "a number" there and felt like I wasn't making any progress. However from my first session with Gemma at Equilibrium I noticed I started making progress. I felt genuinely cared for without any judgement. Every session I got new tools and skills that I could use in my day to day life. Even when things were going better and I didn't "need" therapy as much anymore, I received a friendly follow up email to simply check in and see how I was doing. If I needed to see someone ad hoc, I would always hear back from someone within a few hours to confirm availability and was normally able to see my therapist the next day. It only happened once there wasn't availability till another week, and within an hour a phone call was scheduled without any additional costs to offer any immediate assistance.
They assisted / advised me exactly how to arrange everything financially, and the payment/rebate process is always easy.
For me visiting Equilibrium and my psychologist Gemma has been one of the best decisions of my life, and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Past employee. Equilibrium is a beautiful place to work. All psychologists here deeply care about their clients progress which has been so heartening to see. All processes are very professional and I couldn't recommend this place any higher whether you're a client or future employee
