Have done a few repairs for me now, which I’m very happy with. Staff were very understanding when I forgot to pick up my shoes

Incredibly rude I found this shop on Google and called to enquire if he could repair my designer bag. He replied that's OK, just come. I also asked if I could come today or if I needed to make a booking. Since I live quite a far from his store, I sent him a picture to make sure if he could fix it.
He responded okay, and he said to just bring it.so I told him I will come this afternoon.
Arrived after an hour and a half after talked with him. He wasn't there. I phoned him, He said he just left and let me leave the bag and come back another day. I said I already told you Im coming if you was not here why not tell me then I can come on another day becasue I would like to discuss with you about where I wated to fix and cost. He began shouting at me said if im not happy then go aways go to another shop! Dont come to him. OMG speechless.he was so rude!

Please stay away from this store.

The renewal of a short zip in the restoration a calf skin shoulder bag was not carried out as agreed to, in which old temoporary stitiching was to be removed and replaced with professional stitching. Instead glue was slopped around the zip ends, the zip itself and parts of the bag, defacing the item. Amateur workmanship.

Elly is a good guy. Had a cheap back pack with a broken buckle. I opened a chat with him to see if he could fix it. He had the part and fixed it in a couple of minutes while I waited, for a very reasonable price. If you need this kind of repair service I recommend contacting him first and arranging a time. I've seen several bad reviews that probably would have been much better had the customer contacted him first. His help is.well, just the help. Don't expect the same level of customer service as you would from Elly himself.

Elly is a lovely man who gave me excellent service, giving me free basic key rings as well as providing a receipt without me asking. However, I returned the same day to get a second set of keys cut and the man wearing a Toronto Raptors hat's service fell far and short from Elly's, seeming as if he just had no interest in being there. I believe this is a reason why they receive so many mixed reviews in regards to quality of service.

Good craftsmanship, friendly service, and modest prices. Not many of this kind of shoe cobblers around, rare find.

Caught an uber to elly's to have my vehicle key cut, he cut me the wrong key, so after a uber to the vehicle and an uber back to the shop, instead of being apologetic he showed me attitude.
After he recut the key, it looked way off, I pointed it out and he threw the key at me saying if you don't like it ill give you a refund.

I took the key, guess what, it didn't work.

Stay clear of this shop!

Terrible job. Asked for my backpack to be repaired as one of the straps had broken. There is still glue on the strap and the stitching inside is awful, the old stitching hasn't been taken out and the thread is the wrong colour.

Impeccable work! I got my Louis Vuitton bag fixed in minutes, for an affordable price! I highly recommend it! Great customer service! ️️️

Have been taking mine and my children’s shoes to Elly’s shoe repairs for over 20 years. Great work friendly service and the prices have always been very reasonable. I have at time had small jobs done for nothing. Yes I recommend Elly’s shoe and bag service.

Useless. I came here to have a battery in a car remote replaced and the sales person said ‘yes we offer that service but I don’t like to do it. The boss does all that. ’ I ask if the boss is there and I get a rude ‘no’ in response. Pathetic unprofessional service and I’ll never go back.

I own vintage bag and part of the strap had broken and come apart. I took my bag to a repair service in Enmore, just to have this section replaced and ended up with a $350 quote for an entire refurbishment of my bag, which I never asked for! I walked into Elly's and within a couple of days they had replaced the piece for a fraction of the price quoted by the other repair service. You cannot even notice the different material, it was such a good repair job and they did just what I asked. I also took a pair of vintage boots here for resoling, again quick, cheap and friendly service.

I am glad I found this place and will be a return customer. A Newtown institution.

Needed a repair on a suitcase. Job was done in 20 minutes and priced accordingly. Good old fashioned honest service. Will definitely be a repeat customer

I recognised the owner from wynyard. Absolute legend. Very reasonable prices and overall a very pleasant man. Glad to see there is a key cutter/shoe repair in Newtown that does not increase service prices while the rent stays the same. Out of principle I only come here, as they charge a fraction of the price other hipsters do, while doing the Same quality of work and are always super grateful for the service. Free service for minor things too like sandal strap/ flip flop breaks.

Terribly nice man. Clearly takes an enormous pride in what he does and does a great job. Very reasonable prices.

Incredible service, I took a pair of heeled boots in to have the heel re-soled. They came back to me looking brand new, fantastic work done on the heel and done both quickly and cheaply ($15 and took 30 minutes).
