Eczema Clinics Australia reviews
6I have my wedding coming up and have recently gotten eczema on my face. I was looking for a dermatology clinic and found Eczema Clinics Australia and was expecting a professional dermatologist, I saw a technician which meant false advertising. I got told I would receive a letter from the doctor and a prescription too which the doctor was meant do prescribe based on photos that were taken. I never received this prescription, I contacted the clinic many times and kept getting told it must be in my junk inbox and it wasn't, no support provided. I made the mistake of booking another appointment in November and regret wasting my money as I won’t be going and want a refund.
You go there expecting to see a dermatologist, only to find out that ur actually seeing seeing a “clinician” thats not even properly qualified in dermatology, and still charged the same price as seeing a Dermatologist!
My initial consultation was with a lady who titles herself as a “Dermal CLINICIAN” but has a Bachelor degree in Science.
And a Diploma in beauty and therapy.
There is nothing to indicate that she has a medical or nursing background/training.
Shes not appropriately qualified to be calling herself a clinician.
Therefore could not provide me a diagnosis in my consultation.
The clinic will charge you for a specialist fee, however you are not consulted by a specialist/dermatologist.
They make it as though theyre running a health clinic for skin, but they not actually qualified make diagnosis. The clinic looks professional and appear to have staff that look like they are medically trained.
They shouldnt be calling themselves clinicians.
They operate a Telehealth system with a staff with no medical background passes on information to the dermatologist.
They say you have access to dermatologist, however I didn’t and still paid a “specialist fee”
As a dermatologist you need to see the patient first hand. Especially NEW patients to do a physical exam.
I was consulted by a staff who highly unlikely had proper qualifications to assess a medical condition of any sort, let alone the skin.
Based on the refund that was received, I believe that my argument is somewhat correct.
Never suffered from eczema prior to pregnancy however due to those lovely pregnancy hormones I broke out with sever eczema from my face all the way down to my belly which was keeping me from doing simple things like showering, sleeping and even going out in the cold some days. I tried literally everything except the UVB light treatment. I tried to get into any dermatologist with a UVB light treatment and they all had a 3-4 month wait list just for a consultation! I found the Australian eczema clinic on Google in a desperate search at 4am when I couldn’t sleep from itching. I was able to get an appointment the next day and was getting treated 5 days later. I can not recommend this highly enough for eczema sufferers. The best part is that I didn’t have to set a time for treatments, I could just show up when it suited me. The only negative is that I had to drive an hour to the clinic 3 days a week. Certainly need a clinic closer to Penrith as there is such a need for it from people I’ve spoken too! There should be clinics in every major city thank you to all the staff who I got to know quite well!
I found this clinic online and decided to book an appointment as a last resort for the worst full body eczema flare I have ever experienced in my life. The wait times are significantly shorter than other dermatologists. The staff are wonderful and caring, and are attentive to any concerns you have during treatment. I'm 13 weeks in and have virtually clear skin. Highly recommend!
Our online booking forms, phone calls & discussion with the clinic stuff was a waste of time. They strictly only deal remotely with a dermatologist (no onsite dermatologist) - and only with the 3 ailments they mention & I found the staff to be pushy. You should not go here if you do not know your illness background. Luckily we have a offshore referring dermatologist who was able to guide us.
