Echoes Restaurant & Bar Blue Mountains reviews
30Absolutely fab food. Dining was accompanied by a lovely lady playing the piano. Sunset was breathtaking
I wonder what the posh restaurant there is like? This is their casual dining room. I loved it. Great everything.
The view is the best thing about this restaurant, that and the sunset. We had a lovely cocktail out on the deck to begin our night. Unfortunately there were a few things I wasn’t happy about (although my mother thoroughly enjoyed her experience). When booking I said it was for my mother’s 92nd birthday, when we arrived we were dismayed to see that the only way up to the restaurant was a huge and steep flight of stairs - no lift. It was a wonder my mother made it up, let alone down. We weren’t informed at booking and there is nothing on the website to indicate that it isn’t ‘accessible’. The food was okay but not to the standard I expected, nor for the price. 3 courses were compulsory on Sat night even if you don’t want them (which I didn’t). The service left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for water (our preference was tap) twice. The third time we were given bottled water. It took ages for our glass of wine to come and when finished we weren’t offered another. So overall not great but my mother was oblivious and enjoyed her night which was the main thing. Wouldn’t repeat the experience though
Very disappointing. Booked for a 70th birthday and food served cool and insufficient number of staff on duty to wait on tables. Management took weeks to respond to correspondence.
One of the best dinners we had. Highly recommend booking an early dinner so you can enjoy the amazing vies
It was a beautiful day in the mountains and we decided to book for an early dinner at 5: 30pm. We had cocktails on the balcony overlooking the mountains watching the sun go down. It was exquisite! Dinner was also exquisite! Our wait staff were knowledgeable, fun and very professional, just wonderful! The food is Asian Fusion, and delicious! It was fresh and flavoursome without fuss! The wine was so good, I broke my own rules. Worth it! Apologies for no photos, I enjoyed every moment!
The staff were lovely, no issues with them. I’m sure the view during the day is excellent as well. However, the food was incredibly bland and not anywhere close to warranting it’s pricing. The bathrooms were also profoundly subpar. Given the restaurant’s strict booking policies and higher prices I was looking forward to a lovely meal, however I was very disappointed.
Visited the Echos Restaurant for a birthday lunch last week and the first thing that screams amazing is how beautiful the restaurant is with the panoramic views of the blue mountains. The whole ambience of the restaurant and hotel is rustic and beautiful.
We ordered the Pan Seared Scallops which was so flavourful. For mains we ordered the Lamb backstrap, which was cooked to perfection. The Lamb was juicy and the minced lamb dumplings on the side left us craving for more. The slow cooked ocean trout was a bit too salty for our liking.
For dessert we ordered the Apple Tarte Tartin, which was slightly underwhelming compared to the rest of our meals. We would probably try then Matcha Creme Brulee on our next visit.
The service was flawless and the staff were extremely friendly and polite.
On a whole, it was a beautiful experience and we will be back soon.
This place is majestic, staff are very friendly and professional, and the food is beyond expectation!
Fantastic location in the Blue Mountains.that's about all.
Hospitality was shocking, food very over priced.
Waiters seemed to have no idea or just extremely inexperienced; they confused white wine with champagne, tried to serve champagne in white wine glasses saying they had run out of flutes, sat us on the wrong table overlooking a car park (we'd booked a seat overlooking the mountains - quite different), eventually moved us (halfway through dinner), then brought over wine when we still had a full glasses after we had said we would hold on the wine until we had finished.
The food itself was a bit meh - mashed potato was extremely disappointing (lumpy and served like a log).
Not once did they offer a complimentary drink or anything else to compensate. We travelled for 2 hrs for this for mothers day.extremely disappointing. It would have been comical except for the fact the bill came to over $600 for 3 adults!
Beautiful outside area and views.service good, food good.be prepared for the expense.kids menu can be 50 dollars.overall very worth it!
Just don’t bother. The atmosphere started off promising with the table we were given. And then a table of 15 sat down behind us. The meal also started off promising with the amuse-bouche which was a scallop, the same as the entree my husband ordered. And then the main was served. The waiter actually told me the reason the meat was cold was because I ordered it medium-rare. It was replaced with an over-cooked bit of meat instead which was inedible! And every course was served with seaweed. So disappointed! We won’t go there again.
Everything about Echoes restaurant is amazing the service was absolutely fantastic and the food was amazing highly recommend this place we will definitely be back
A truely special dining experience! The food was outstanding, wine list extensive and service exemplary
The food was nice but unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible. Kids still had main plates on the table when the dessert came out and all waiter said was 'ready or not here is your dessert '. Among of things. Liz
Delicious 2 course meal - meats were perfectly cooked with delicious flavours accompanying and impeccable service.
Would love to visit again, for lunch next time, to fully enjoy the view as going for dinner meant the spectacular views were hidden.
After reading some of these reviews my opinion was mixed. After actually going all I can say is this was amazing! Food was next level, service was attentive and on point, cocktails menu is great and I even tested the staff on some other overseas drinks which they made no problems. Views are beautiful and the restaurant is spacious and cosy at the same time. Highly recommended this place. Worth the price.
A restaurant with a breathtaking view and delicious food. We highly recommend the Tuna entree was very tasty and the wasabi cream was amazing; the taste of wasabi but without the heat!
For the main the beef tenderloin was the stand out; quality meat cooked perfectly.
Finally for dessert the Banana Cheesecake; the perfect way to end a delicious lunch.
Many thanks to the staff who made us feel very welcome!
We were lucky to get a window seat & really enjoyed the relaxing ambience & gorgeous views. Food was quite flavourful and had a Japanese twist to the standard modern Australian cuisine, the lamb & beef was cooked perfectly tender and was generous serving sizes too!
The only down side was the extreme humidity & heat we had to dine in. There was no aircon & we felt like we were in a sauna. It wasn’t the most luxurious experience but overall we still liked the food & ambience.
Stunning venue with a great atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was to die for.
