Delicious dumplings! We have been coming for over 15 years to East Ocean. Our favourite spot for yum Cha!

Wonderful experience! I took my kids here and they loved the food. Staff were amazing and friendly as always! I would definitely recommend to anyone who used to live in Asia.

The dim sum is delicious and the environment is not bad. It is a good place for drinking tea with friends. Recommended!

It’s our first time to try this restaurant. We booked online a week earlier and even call the restaurant to confirm and the staff confirmed we can come at 6pm. On the day when we come in our booking is not listed and the staff mentioned they didn’t take online booking and asked if we put deposit $100. We were not asked to put deposit when I called to confirm. Understand you would be busy for CNY, but the some tables are empty. Very disappointed on how the staff manage the booking and treat us on that day. We won’t even considering to try this restaurant in the future. Thanks for the unpleasant experience!

Good food! The salt and pepper tofu is a must try. Would recommend going with someone cantonese for the best experience. We had a pleasant meal for 5 there (~60pp). Definitely one of the better seafood cantonese restaurants in the area.

Once we ordered it took a while for the food to come out, we had to ask them why it's taking so long. And one of the waitresses kept on hanging around our table like a bad smell.

Generally good quality yum cha. Tripe was delicious, however the spinach and prawn dumpling lacked some flavour. Food comes around fast, so be prepared to make a decision quickly, but that is normal for yum cha. Overall a pleasant experience and I would visit again. Review based on one visit.

Food is good, the only let down is there are only two ppl pushing the trolleys and the wait was long around 20-30 mins for the trolley to come to the table every time, we have to keep waiting.

I decided to treat my self to yum cha
I remembered east ocean from years ago so decided to return
Big mistake
Only two trolleys going around
For the hour I was there it was the same food going around on the sand two trolleys
They kept coming around with the same things
I had two dishes and wanted more but there wasn’t any more choices
The last dish I had was deep fried prawn and garlic chives wontons
What a waste of money
It was over cooked soggy and disgusting
When paying my bill I was charged for tea that I didn’t have
$53 for one person
Won’t go back

I did reply to email as they asked
Even though they gave wrong email address
But no reply
They don’t care

Do not go here! $30 for fried rice! It was literally frozen veggies and some frozen prawns with rice. For $30. Not to mention the terrible service, things we asked for didn’t come and we were told that certain things were on the menu that weren’t. Terrible. Don’t go here.

Please let me start by saying that we probably picked the wrong night dine at this restaurant (The night after New Years Eve). Most restaurants in Sydney were closed. We booked earlier in the day and the restaurant was quite busy and very under staffed. Although they were quite happy to charge the public holiday surcharge. We had 4 at our table. After being seated for 10 minutes with no offer of water or anything to drink we waved the waiter down ordered drinks and our entree and mains. 2 of us received our entrees in a fairly timely manner but the other 2 patrons waited 20 minutes and 30 minutes accordingly. The individual mains were delivered one at at time over the next hour plus. You would receive a main dish but without the rice to accompany it and the other guests would have to watch you eat while they waited. We communicated this to the staff throughout the night but they were not interested and could not see an issue. Sad to say that the night was a complete disaster. Food was sub-standard for the $400 we paid. Will not recommend or dine here again.

We came to the restaurant for yumcha experience. The line to get a table was not too long but the wait for food was ridiculous. There is only one lady in the entire restaurant pushing a trolley around serving food. Food options very limited and we will be leaving still feeling hungry. Can’t comment on the quality of the food much as clearly we are not served any.
My advice is if you want food, order off the menu or go somewhere else. Please don’t go there for yumcha.

I have always liked to come here for more than ten years. Although I have changed to a new owner, the decoration is more beautiful. The price is also very fair.

This place is for silly locals and tourists that know no better, After walking up the stairs I was immediately dissapointed to see the place full of low class " gwailo " aussies and poms and zero asian diners who know much better, I always gauge a chinese restaurant by the amount of asian diners who know the best and cheapest places to go, The food was average for anyone who knows real yum cha, it was simply buy in bulk frozen and then reheated for the un discerning overpaying customers that unknowingly lap it up. They also hide the price from you and charge you by how silly you look, I basically spent $90 on $11 worth of frozen food and was overcharged on my credit card, well at least I got a free Jasmin tea, I thought.but they also charged us for that, even for my kids that didnt drink any. Location was good, place was clean, this is a better option than maccas if someone else is paying the bill. BTW I emailed the restaurant as stated below and got no response

Decent yum cha, reasonably spaced out dining (not sure if that was deliberate or due to covid fears limiting the number of willing diners). Staff were polite and helpful. Able to accommodate vegetarians in our party.

Well priced, nice new fit out, staff are attentive and plentiful. Food carts are regularly running by. I don't think there is lift access but I could be wrong

Got a VIP room, great service, great food. Comes with a price though. However balanced by the good service.

Food was good, decent price. Bit slow though. They ran out of one chicken dish so we had to swap it, then they forgot about it so we had to cancel.

They also forgot our drink order and when it came to the bill, it was on there twice so we had to get that sorted.
