Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden Adventure Playground reviews
8Great free place to spend time feeding fish and ducks from the bridges, along with kids' play park, slippery dip, and flying fox as well as enjoying the gardens.
So fun, well-maintained and exciting. The equipment is great and we all had so much fun. I love it!
Feeling stressed or anxious. This place will help with that. Very peaceful and relaxing. Well maintained great little break from life.
One of the best playground in Australia! Love this one, equipped with natural timber materials, love the balancing beams trail, a large tree at the rear, climbing equipment, big stone slide, flying foxes (1 normal and 1 chair), tunnel with wings painting, sitting areas and green grasses everywhere! There is also a Dan Murphy's right next to it, so when the child plays, the dad can get his drinks!:)
Adventure Playground is large and sprawling with many separate play zones and picnic areas complete with BBQs. The equipment is interesting and a little different. Lots of wood, lots of climbing and includes an ever-popular flying fox. There is also a small water play area (channeling water rather than playing in water). Whilst picnic tables and BBQs are shaded, most of the play equipment is not so consider packing hats and sunscreen. There are plenty of paths to cycle around. The playground is accessible for wheelchairs and includes a wheelchair swing and a flying fox with seat and seatbelt. Toilets are clean and includes soap dispenser. Note that closing times vary—6pm outside daylight savings time and 8pm during daylight saving. Opening time is 8am throughout the year.
A very calm and relaxing location.
The botanic gardens have a large sealed carparking area located off Coronation Drive. There are 4 designated parking spaces for larger vehicles as well, such as buses. Entry into the gardens is free.
Shoyoen garden is the entry point and the first sight you will see is the lake holding many large Japanese koi fish. A small Japanese style building sits on top of the hill overlooking the lake where a waterfall feeds two small streams running into the lake. Sensory Garden is located at the southern end of Shoyoen.
Oasis Valley is access through a latched gate at the northern point of Shoyoen. This section of the gardens leads you on a walkway over a running stream.
Great playground including flying fox, mud kitchen, slides and various climbing activities. BBQ areas available as well.
A lovely place to enjoy the variety of creation. The Japanese gardens provide an opportunity for an experience of walking among Asian plants tended in an Asian style with a beautiful pond. Don't feed the fish as they are too big and ugly.
The biodiversity garden has a variety of Australian plants with educational signs telling of the processes involved in the continent's formation and the diversity of its flora and fauna. This is while entering along a tasteful stream.
At the other end is a sensory garden allowing for stimulation of each of the senses placed around another pond.
These gardens are placed alongside a popular adventure playground for the children and a Wiradjuri park.
All have well maintained areas for picnics with picnic tables and toilets.
The park is on bus routes and only a very short walk from Orana Mall shops.
