Dr William Mooney / Rhinoplasty Sydney

I had a rhinoplasty and septoplasty with Dr Mooney in 2021. I am now over two years post op and am very happy with the results. I wanted to write a review sharing my experience as I can see a lot of people sharing their bad experiences and a lot of negative comments circling around. My experience with Dr Mooney throughout my rhinoplasty experience was nothing short of exceptional. During my consult Dr Mooney was extremely information and explained the process and what to expect very well. He was very good at communicating with his patients and also making them feel comfortable and cared for. From this I could tell I went with the right doctor. He took time to listen to all my concerns and suggestions that I had regarding the surgery. The nose I asked for and envisioned is exactly what I got. His staff also were very friendly and also his patient consultant Kelly was very professional. I went in for regular check ups post op where my progress was discussed and breathing tests were performed. The breathing problems I was experiencing prior to surgery were resolved after the surgery. For the surgery it’s self, I can now say that my breathing has improved and I am also very confident with my new nose. My family and friends have also gotten rhinoplasties with Dr Mooney and they all had nothing but good reviews for Dr Mooney. I cannot thank Dr Mooney enough for all of his work. Amazing person. After reading all of the reviews and news, I decided to act on my gut feeling and proceeded with Dr. Mooney. His extensive years of experience and knowledge in the industry impressed me. I am not going to lie, some of the reviews did scare me a little but I had to go with my gut instinct. I am so grateful I met with Dr. Mooney. The procedure I had done was the Alar Base Reduction. Dr. Mooney fixed what was a 30 year issue I had to my nose but was never able to fix as I am scared of major surgery. Not only he fixed what I wanted - he fixed what I also needed. Dr. Mooney is very discreet in his work - the look is natural but the changes is major. Please don't have any doubt - see him if you want a life changing experience. I can't thank him enough. Dr. Mooney is extremely caring and warm as well as his whole team. I am elated and I will return for other procedures.

From my first consultation I felt that I was given all of the info i needed and a clear realistic expectation of the results i would be getting. It's taken me years to write this review, and receiving a marketing email this morning reminded me that I had wanted to. I had a rhinoplasty with dr mooney probably about 5 years ago now. Out of the many consultations I had, he was the best. Charasmatic, charming, attentive and full of promise. I booked the surgery and everything went well at first. It was the aftercare (or lack of) that this experience became negative for me. In the following weeks, I had my follow up appointments, all went well. Then as the swelling started to go down properly, I realised that my nose and the bone work around it was asymmetrical to the point that one side of my node looked hollower and lacking the structure that the other side of my nose does. Dr mooney started by putting fillers in my nose to balance the asymmetry, which after expressing my concern that I would have to do this often, he deflected the conversation. On subsequent appointments, he would examine quickly then speedily leave the room and sub in a nurse to then try and offer me additional procedures or treatments. The experience for me took a massive downturn when I was expressing my concern again one day and his comment was "but look at what you started with". I emotionally and quickly left that day and have never retuned since. Dr Mooneys ability to sell you the vision is amazing. But the post surgery service is where the experience lacks and falls apart.

My experience with Dr. Mooney and his staff was nothing short of exceptional. From the consultation to the surgery, I was guided with great care. He was extremely informative and patient, making it a very comfortable decision for me. They have continued to remain in contact with me with regular appointments and check ups. As for the surgery itself, I can honestly say my breathing has never been better. The shape of my new nose fits perfectly with my face, along with its functionality, I feel like it was the best physical and mental decision I’ve made. Probably the worst thing that's ever happened to me in my life, botched nose job. He left me looking like a hook nosed witch. And when I tried to ask him to fix it, dr Mooney said it's my. Fault for not using the nasel spray properly. People can't even hold eye contact with me I look so ugly.i think about suicide often. Thanks lot. My name is Daniel Ballard.

I highly recommend the services of Dr Mooney, and his staff in Bondi.
He explains things to the level of detail you would want; he is very thorough and does appropriate scans; he demonstrates so much (e.g. With photoshop/angled mirrors), and listens to you/takes in your input. I'm not just talking about what you are looking for aesthetically, but also your lifestyle, time limits, and values. I am so happy with my results, and he also taught me good aftercare to look after my nose. His staff are so warm and professional. I had so much anxiety coming into this, but I am elated with my journey and outcome. Highly recommend for septoplasty/rhinoplasty (/revision).

Butchered my nose over 3 rhinoplastys. Had to spent $14000 on a reconstruction with bits of my rib cartilage because he removed so much of my nose

I was recommended to Dr Mooney by a friend who had her rhinoplasty done through Dr Mooney. She was beyond thrilled with her results and being in the medical profession herself, had done extensive research on rhinoplasty doctors in Australia before deciding to proceed with Dr Mooney. I was therefore very confident in taking her recommendation and Dr Mooney did not disappoint! I was nervous with the idea at first, but after meeting Dr Mooney, I felt very confident in my decision. Dr Mooney's passion as an ENT specialist is obvious and his experience gave me reassurance that I was in the hands of a professional. Post the surgery, I had so many questions and anxieties about the way my nose looked (obviously swollen) and Dr Mooney was so patient in alleviating all my concerns and answering any questions I had. His advice was spot on and my nose healed perfectly. I am SO happy with my results and the best part is, my new nose looks so natural - like the nose I was always meant to have. The best way to describe Dr William Mooney would be to say that he is a genius! This man has completely changed my life for the better. The idea of having surgery as big as rhinoplasty can seem so daunting although Dr Mooney and his team of nurses made my experience so effortless and I was looked after throughout the whole process. I had my rhinoplasty done with Dr Mooney and I couldn’t be happier. He definitely took the time to understand and listen to exactly what I wanted and his caring personality made me feel so comfortable to have him performing the procedure. I can now breathe clearly and I do not snore at all. I am so happy with how natural my nose looks, he did everything I wanted and more! I cannot recommend him enough!

I was so hesitant when considering to have revision rhinoplasty. It is such a big thing and I had to get it right. I was so unhappy with my primary surgery 8 years ago and did lots of research before consulting Dr Mooney. I would have been happy just to have a minor improvement, but he has completely fixed my nose (my septum was still deviated from first surgery), my breathing has improved and he also fixed the tip. I LOVE it so much. He was so holistic in his approach and my nose now works in so well with the rest of my face and looks so natural. His caring manner from the day I met him was outstanding and I felt so comfortable in his hands. His whole team are amazing and nothing was too hard. If anyone is unhappy with a previous rhinoplasty or their nose in general, this is the doctor to see. I wish I had seen him in the first place, he is the BEST in the business!

I've never met Dr Mooney. My review is based on my dealings with his Practice Manager, Merrin. After my consultation I was unable to decide which products to purchase with my $50 redeemable credit. I asked if I could come back and use the credit at a later date. I was not informed at any point a date by which my credit would become invalid. Less than two months later I try to make a purchase and even though they failed to explain to me the terms of the credit, they still refuse to honor their agreement with me and are completely unapologetic. Needless to say I will not be commencing any further business with them and do not reccommend. Not one to usually give bad reviews perhaps it was Merrins condecending tone that encouraged me.

Ever since my younger teenage years I had always disliked my nose. I was bullied at school and the comments said to me still stick with me to this day. I had always contemplated the idea of having rhinoplasty but I was too scared and apprehensive to have it done.
A friend of mine actually recommended Dr Mooney to me and I am so grateful, since the first visit through to surgery and recovery, Dr Mooney and his team have been so supportive and there to answer any of my questions. (and believe me I had many)
It’s improved my confidence and how I feel about myself. I feel that cosmetic surgery is a personal thing & I’ve learnt not to hold back in life when wanting to do something. (I had a lot of my family tell me I didn’t need it) but I am so glad I took the plunge and had my nose fixed. Best thing I’ve ever done! His expertise is truly unparalleled. My advice is for women is not to go alone to this doctor. This doctor is a sleaze in his mannerism and speech. He also makes statements to deliberately make you feel insufficient in your looks so you can have cosmetic surgery. I told him "I'm happy with my appearance and how I look naturally". He responded rudely "Some people are created more perfect than others". What the hell? ! Couldn't believe his response. Went to another professionally spoken specialist in Strathfield who only made medically professional comments and not negative comments about my looks.
