Dr Paul B Mansfield

Dr Mansfield was nice enough, but I went to him with a specific problem with evidence and backing from other specialists and practitioners. He didn't seem to want to listen to me. He went off on a tangent and gave me a "diagnosis" that didn't fit me at all, and my other specialists have said doesn't fit me at all. Everytime I tried to get the appointment back on track, he dismissed me and went back to his decision on what was important. He gaslighted me and said that I need to take more of a role in my health, which I do, and my specialist wrote in their letter to him that I do and he treated me like I was digging for medications when I specifically said I wasn't interested in medications. He hardly did any examination and said there was no point in doing extra testing. He didn't seem to have much understanding on my condition and instead of telling me that he wasn't confident in what I was after, he just diagnosed me with something else. I left feeling completely unheard, completely dismissed and at a loss of what to do.

Since I have seen another rheumatologist who listened to me and has diagnosed me with what I went to Dr Mansfield about without any fuss, and immediately said what Dr Mansfield diagnosed me with is completely wrong and doesn't fit me at all. She has ordered extra tests, did a thorough examination and she listened to me and I felt completely heard. I have since learnt that people with my condition that have seen Dr Mansfield and have had similar experiences. He may be fine for some people, but for me and others he seems to be a bad experience. Proceed with caution.
