If you are considering spinal surgery, Dr Ball is my recommendation! Dr Ball is a compassionate, articulate and caring Dr who takes the time to make sure you have all the information you need. His receptionists, Janine and Joanne were efficient, lovely and helpful always and really understood what a person may be going through if they are seeing a surgeon. I had a fairly complex L5, S1 disc compression after a discectomy with a surgeon in the Public system 9 years prior. My world had whittled down to the minimum with constant agonising nerve pain. I had no quality life. Dr Ball helped me to make a difficult decision and operated. I was up in the afternoon and had NO pain. (obviously except the surgical sight) I was home in two nights and have been walking with no pain. It feels like a miracle. He has surrounded himself, including his anesthetist, Anthony Lewis with a fantastic team who have their patients best interests!

I done L4/L5 fusion and L3/L4 decompression in Oct 2022. I have to say thank you to Dr Ball that he did the surgery very successful.
My recovery was very good and has no pain. Dr Ball almost visiting me every day while I stayed at the hospital. He always asked me that” any problems or any pains “. Dr Ball is a very responsible doctor. I remember that when I have a low blood pressure on the first day after the operation and Dr Ball recommend that I stayed in the ICU for one extra day.
Dr Ball is a very good spine surgeon and I have no hesitation to recommend Dr Ball to anyone for similar operation.

After 11 years of back pain from a prior back operation I discovered Dr Ball who comes highly recommended by some previous patients.
Dr Balls confident & professional abilities are second to none. He assessed my previous scans & explained everything he could do to rectify existing fusion by removing old hardware previously wrongly positioned.
My mobility & pain was horrendous & after every alternative therapy had failed me I decided Dr Ball was my only way back to optimum physical fitness.
Now nearly 12 months out of surgery I’m a new person not only did he fix existing fusion & add 2 more levels but I’m fitter & stronger than I’ve been in last 12 years. I’m so thankful I found this wonderful surgeon who’s caring & informative manner are only a small portion of this talented surgeons abilities. I would highly recommend Dr Ball for your back surgery.

I highly recommend Dr. Ball. I had been suffering from chronic back pain, lower back spasms and sciatica for over 10 years. I was recently operated and my back feels close to new.

I put off getting surgery and rather opted for physiotherapy and alternate methods of pain management. After meeting Dr. Ball I felt confident and reassured about getting the
Surgery.
Almost immediately after the surgery I felt my back was in better shape. 2 days after the surgery I was up walking and the results from the surgery have been incredible.

Dr. Ball is an incredible Surgeon. If (G-d Forbid) you are ever in a position where you are contemplating back surgery, you should definitely if possible see/request Dr. Ball.

Dr. Ball was absolutely excellent. I have been suffering from chronic pain for 12 months, and from general daily pain for about 14 years. I have been dismissed and treated poorly by almost every medical professional i have seen, until i met Dr. Ball.he explained everything to me and was very informative about the whole process. He gave me back my confidence and has now made me look forward to the future, something i haven't felt in a long time.
I cant recommend him enough! I cannot wait to undergo surgery and recovery and have my life back, thanks to Dr. Ball.

I had a discectomy and decompression done by Dr Ball in July 2017. In severe pain at time of operation. Dr Ball was absolutely wonderful in every way - at first appointment, fitted me in for surgery within a week as I was in so much pain, in theatre and on ward - totally loved his total care and sense of humour too! Made me feel important and so cared for. Back was so good afterwards went to planned Europe trip 6 weeks later and have not looked back. Cannot thank Dr Ball enough for how good I feel now. You’re an amazing surgeon - can only highly recommend. Thank you for giving me my life back. I now take a long walk every day with my dogs which I love, do yoga and have no trouble with my back at all. Bless you Dr Ball.
Best wishes

I first saw Dr Ball in November 2016, I was relieved that he didn’t rush into surgery. He showed me on my MRI where the damage was and as I’m a Nurse, he provided me the professional courtesy to use Medical term of which I understood. He explained the various options available to me before going under the knife.

When it eventually came to me requiring surgery, he went through all the Pros and Cons of both approaches, so we could make the best decision for me. After surgery, I found he again explained what happened in Theatre and checked I was progressing well.

I would highly recommend Dr Ball to anyone that had a spine or head injury, that may require surgery. He has a wonderful bedside manner, both in surgery and in hospital. If you have your partner with you at the consultation, he makes sure they also understand what’s going to happen.

For 6 years I lived with a worsening and painful low back injury. At 33 I battled on with 2 kids under 5 and my world shrunk to the size of a fishbowl. Thank you Dr Ball for having the courage to intervene when the stakes were so high. I am a new man. I play tennis three times a week and my family has their father back. It is a remarkable turnaround. Pragmatic, measured, persistent and innovative. Thanks for giving me back my life, I am very grateful.

For anyone feeling concerned or just interested.
By good fortune I found myself in the care of Dr Jonathon Ball facing major, life changing spinal surgery. Thanks to Dr Ball's skill and compassion we now have an excellent result. I can't find words to express my gratitude. Can only wish that life provides wonderful things for Dr Ball and his family.

No follow up letter after consultation. Did not look at the MRI and XRay scans at all. Too much use of medical terms at consultation that made the advice difficult to understand. When GP explained Dr Ball's advice Dr Ball was more concerned about being sued than providing information to me the patient. Very sad and dissapointed. I never called his secretary before visiting my GP and I was never offered to be sent a letter. It goes from bad to worse.

I saw Dr Ball a few years ago and he cautiously and thoroughly assessed me and my back condition. My back at that was boarder line for surgery so we decided to hold off on surgery, he was in no rush to push for me to have anything done and genuinely had my best interest in mind. Unfortunately my back hasn't improved at all for any good period of time so sadly I think I will be seeing Jonsthan in the near future.
