Couldn’t recommend more highly. Dr Rooney has been amazing with my ankle and knee surgeries. Friendly and kind hearted.

Dr Rooney operated on my husband about 16 years ago after he had his foot run over by a tractor. We were very fortunate to have Dr Rooney operate on Graham, he is so kind and friendly and helpful. Graham has never had any problems with his foot since. I would recommend him to anyone that needs orthopaedic surgeon. He truly is an incredible surgeon and a wonderful human with a special gift

Dr John Rooney. "Call me John" was personable from the moment I attended my first appointment mid 2022.

In thorough consultation with him I was able to make an informed decision to proceed with anterior total hip arthroplasty, being given several weeks to process and query all the details.

The relationship between surgeon and patient was sealed for me when he described the three most important things to consider when making my decision to proceed with surgery were: the surgeon, physiotherapy and you. My trust in him was totally gained.

I have no hesitation recommending Dr John Rooney for hip surgery. His bedside visits and follow up care exemplary.

Dr. John Rooney performed my right knee replacement in December 2020.
Although I had my left knee replacement done in Ireland about nine years previously he was extremely thorough in explaining everything to me in advance of the 2020 procedure. His follow up and care in the twelve months since has been superb. He is THE MAN for this type of procedure.

Happy New Year Dr Rooney and staff. One word describes Dr Rooney "incomparable"! At 73 years, I'm young again! After such skilled surgery, honesty, and genuine care my hammer toe surgery and total knee replacement have worked wonders. What an incredible surgeon. I had both hips replaced in February this year and cannot fault Dr Rooney’s care and expertise.

I felt very calm leading up to the surgery. He explained in detail what I would experience and visited me regularly during my rehabilitation stay. Dr Rooney has the kindest bedside manner. Checking in on me regularly after my surgery.

I live in regional NSW and chose to travel to Sydney for Dr Rooney. He was recommended to me for which I am forever grateful and now I recommend him to family and friends who need similar surgery. I really cannot recommend him highly enough.

I first met Dr Rooney several years ago after another Doctor at St Vincents recommended him. He is the most caring person I have met - gives you an honest opinion as to whether he can solve your problem and does not push you into surgery.
I would highly recommend to anybody. Being 84 yrs of age and if I need more treatment I would not think twice about seeing him again - in fact my daughter is seeing him soon.

The staff are very professional & friendly. Nothing was a problem for them. Dr Rooney was very thorough in his explanations of what was going on with my knee right from my first appointment, he made me feel at ease both pre & post surgery. I can not thank him & his staff enough for looking after me & I'm back at the gym pain free.

On the 11th November 2019 I underwent complete right hip replacement surgery with Dr John Rooney 5 weeks later All the pain I was enduring has completely gone and walking around with no aids at all with my balance restored. Why did I put up with the pain in hip and thigh for so long.
Many thanks to Dr John and his team and St Vincents Private Hospital and the rehab at St Luke’s Private Hospital was awesome.

Had a hip replacement on the 16th September 2019 which Dr John Rooney preformed. Today is 6 weeks on and I could not be happier! All the pain I was experiencing before operation has completely vanished. I had had a previous replacement and revision on the other hip and experienced a lot more pain and discomfort. I cannot Recomended anyone needing surgery on either hip or knee to definitely consider trusting Dr Rooney and his team. He is a true professional and a very sincere and humble man.
He has given me my mobility back!

I saw Dr Rooney today after being referred for a dancers fracture / broken 5th metatarsal. He immediately put me at ease with his level of expertise, professionalism and personality. He offered me a thorough consultation explaining the nuances of my injury and provided excellent follow up investigative care with zero drama. Highly recommended.

John Rooney is a highly qualified surgeon. He is the doctor who pioneered the "anterior muscle sparing approach" of hip replacement in Australia. He has a charming friendly manner and fully informs his patient about the chosen procedure prior to operation and who follows up with frequent visits post op.to check on your progress. John has replaced my knee and my hip. I trust him completely.
