Dr James (Son) Chau-Vo

Very happy with my vision after cataract surgery with the new generation extend depth of focus lens implant. The procedure went very smoothly and now I can see well for distance and reading without glasses. An added bonus for me is I can now drive at night without without any glare symptoms. Dr Chau-Vo was excellent as was his staff, and the hospital staff as well. Thankyou so much!

My wife had a cataract removal and lens implant recently and we are both very satisfied with the result. We commend Dr Chau Vo for his skill and professionalism as well as his highly trained staff from the clinic to the hospital. My wife can see better now without any post-op issues.

I am writing to say thank you on behalf of my very elderly mother who is now over 90 years old, who had her eyesight restore after cataract surgery with Dr ChauVo. She says she can see like when she was 50 years old.the case was very difficult because the cataract was very advance and of my mother very old age.

I am very pleased with the outcome of my recent cataract and vision correction surgery. Dr Chau-Vo is very professional and his staff are all so caring. He took the time to explain all of my options prior to the surgery. I was also very pleased with his post op service and care. I now have better than 20/20 vision and don’t need to wear glasses anymore. I would definitely recommend Dr Chau-Vo to anyone who is thinking of getting eye surgery.

I had two Alcon IOLs inserted into each eye approx 2 months apart. I can see to drive at night with no halo effect even during rain events and reading the Speedo and instruments at night is so much safer. This is life changing as I was constantly looking for my glasses. I can see normally for the first time in 20 years. I can also see to cut my toenails as before toes are too far for specs and as you age too hard to get the foot close enough and then fog up. It’s the little things that have changed. Reading recipes as you cook, reading labels in the supermarket, changing grand childrens nappies and seeing sizes and cost when clothes shopping. Oh how did my bathroom get that dirty and mirrors. Thank you to my wonderful Dr James and his staff for changing my life for the better. Only downside is seeing wrinkles.

Dr Chau-Vo performed my mother's cataract surgeries for both her eye and she is beyond thrilled! Her vision has returned to 20/20 vision- she tells me that she never thought she'd be able to see this clearly again and is amazed with the result.
Further to that, Dr Chau-Vo was extremely professional and made sure to explain all the options, pros & cons etc.

I am writing this on 3rd day after surgery. I had a good experience with my cataract operation and istent insertion. After the dr removed my bandage the day after surgery I noticed firstly how clear my vision was in that eye. I am happy that my eye has had no ill effects from the surgery and am looking forward to having the second eye done too. My pressure was down on the day after the insertion of the istents so am pleased so far with the way things are.

I was very happy with my results from the cataract surgery with the new extend depth of focus lens implant, with both of my eyes.

My mum was referred to this specialist for further review and recommended for surgery in Dec 21. This referral was provided to Liverpool hospital and after following up with the hospital in May 22, was advised by the hospital the referral from Dr James (Son) Chau Vo was rejected in Dec 21 and sent back to Dr James (Son) and we had to reach out to his office for other alternative options.

My mum followed up today with Dr James (Son) office today and spoke to two receptionist, the first one said they found her documentation then another one came and basically told my mum they don’t have responsibility for her anymore and we needed to follow up with Liverpool hospital.

Poor effort for a doctors office with no care for patients or guidance.

Prior to going to the appointment my mum was advised by others including her taxi driver that the doctor is very Money focused and pushy on procedures to increase his revenue. After a $200+ review, it is now NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. Being from a Vietnamese community, she was trusting in this doctor but what a poor experience.

Unethical and pathetic.

My experience with my cataract and stint surgery has been so positive. Firstly Dr. Chau-Vo and his staff are the most caring and helpful staff I have ever had.
The hospital staff were so good. I was very nervous but Henry the Anaethesist soon had me relaxed. Dr Chau -vo talked to me explaining what he was doing all the time. They looked after me till I was picked up.
I could not believe when I went into the surgery the next day how low I could read the eye chart.
My pressure has dropped down to an acceptable level and no more eye drops every night.
When I went back for the second eye the nurse who took my blood pressure said easy to see this is your second time your blood pressure is normal.
I would recommend this surgery, such a positive experience with no more glasses for me.

I’m very happy with the cataract surgery on my left eye performed by Dr James Chau-Vo. A day after surgery I could see much better and after 3 days I had close to 20: 20 vision. Wow! I was pretty pleased with that.
Two months have now passed and my eye sight is really good, the only regret is I didn’t get this done sooner. I was getting headaches before but now I have a bright clear view.
Dr Chau-Vo said, this new standard lens provides a greater vision range allowing the possibility to read without glasses and fortunately this is the case for me.
I’d like to thank the Dr and his staff at Cabramatta, along with those at the Liverpool Eye Hospital for making my experience a happy one.
