Dr Walsh was a huge help to us during our pregnancy and worked alongside my OB to make sure we knew exactly what was happening with our little one to get her here safely.

Dr Walsh has a great way of explaining things and is so easy to chat with. He has a good sense of humour and made a stressful time for us much easier.

Colin’s expertise, enthusiasm and honesty created the perfect model of care during my second pregnancy. Nicole, Carolyn and Lisa make every appointment easy and welcoming.
In every interaction with Colin, I felt listened to and I learned something. I will continue to highly recommend Colin and will definitely be back if we have a third baby.

Dr Walsh is an amazing obstetrician. Very thorough, state of the art equipment, located a stones throw from the hospital, which is super useful during labour. He and his team are all very friendly and kind. I was referred to him after a pregnancy loss and he has since seen me through to 3 rainbow babies. The sense of calm and reassurance he gave me through each pregnancy is what you need in a high risk pregnancy. My family wouldn’t be here without him. Can’t thank him enough! Highly recommended.

Colin is an exceptional obstetrician.

My husband and I feel extremely fortunate to have had someone of his calibre managing the recent pregnancy and delivery of our MCDA twin boys at The Mater. As others have commented, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in Australia with more qualifications and global experience in twin obstetrics.

Credentials aside, Colin is also incredibly accessible, reassuring and kind. When I first found out that we were expecting MCDA twins I was very anxious about all of the complications that could be ahead. From the first appointment with Colin, he really took his time to explain and unravel - with diagrams if needed! - all of the potential scenarios and outcomes that I would come prepared to catastrophize about.

His approach is balanced between ensuring you're able to make evidence based, informed decisions - without trying to scaremonger or influence in any way, which I greatly appreciated.

And of course everything sounds just a tad more reassuring and soothing in an Irish accent!

Remarkably for someone who is so in demand, I don't think he was ever running late for an appointment. His rooms are warm and welcoming and his team - Nicole, Carolyn and Lisa - create a wonderful support system and welcoming faces.

Being able to receive all scans in Colin's room is also a HUGE bonus. Less travelling around Sydney, and the reassurance that it's Colin himself conducting the scans and reviewing the results week-to-week so you know you have continuity of care and that any issues will be picked up swiftly.

Colin got me to 35+2 when some late stage changes in positioning meant a 24 hour turnaround from a routine appointment to holding my babies. Looking back, this should have been a stressful day but Colin was so confident and assured in what needed to happen and putting all the pieces into play, that I didn't even feel like it was a semi-emergency situation. For someone who loves to panic! The fact I didn't even appreciate there was something to be worried about goes to show how commanding he is under pressure and working with shifting sands.

I have three kids now but would seriously consider a fourth if it means I get to have Colin and his wonderful team looking after me again.

Sincerest thanks for the safe and healthy arrival of our first child. As first time parents, pregnancy can be quiet overwhelming and daunting. From the moment I enquired at Dr Colin's office every single person has been so helpful and kind. Throughout the pregnancy it gave us such peace of mind to have a scan at each visit and Colin your thoroughness was so appreciated.

The whole experience has been hugely positive and we were so thrilled to have chosen Colin and your practice as our OB.

Colin is an incredible obstetrician. I moved to Sydney a few years ago and am so glad that I went with him to deliver my third baby. He is very professional, yet funny and calming. I always felt looked after when I was with him and his team and that he was there for me to represent what I wanted in a safe environment. I remember how highly the hospital staff spoke of him and even to this day, I bump into people who also had Colin as their obstetrician. If we ever have a fourth, we will definitely be going back to him!

I highly recommend Dr Walsh. He supported me in 4 pregnancies and his quality of service is exceptional. He always provides a lot of information and presents the pros and cons of options, allowing me to make an informed decision. I've had a loss related to chromosonal issues which he provided a high level of compassion and support.

I don’t know where to begin with praising Dr Colin Walsh and his team!

Dr Walsh was both professional yet endearing throughout my pregnancy journey and from the onset I felt completely comfortable in his care. His expertise was demonstrated and felt at each consultation and being able to having all my scans personally performed by him was both comforting and reassuring.

Every question was answered and I felt reassured and relief after each consultation. He also frequently popped past in the labour ward to check in on how both I and my daughter were doing!

We look forward to going back to Dr Walsh in the near future!

We’re very grateful to Dr Colin Walsh who delivered my MCDA twins in late 2021.

There is a difference when your high risk pregnancy, especially twin pregnancy, is being looked after by an MFM (maternal fetal medicine specialist). All my scans were done personally by Colin himself and the keepsake photos quality from each follow up sessions are top notch. He seemed to always get good photos of the boys. This is a big deal, I’d know as this was my third pregnancy. Previously, sonographers at a certain prestigious women ultrasound would blame my SINGLETON babies for moving too much, hence no good photos can be taken. Well, I’ve confirmed my suspicion that they’re all just excuses after seeing how skilful Colin was with my TWINS (supposedly even harder to get proper photos). Never once he complained that my babies were moving ‘too much’ or being ‘naughty’. To me it speaks volumes to his expert ultrasound skills.

Colin also easily put me at ease despite the high risk pregnancy and I found myself enjoying my pregnancy a lot more than the initial stages when I was plaqued by worry. He was the third Obstetrician I consulted before finally deciding to go along with him and his wonderful team. He explained the potential risks of MCDA twin pregnancy in detail without being scaremongering, and his overall demeanour was positive and encouraging, hence giving me confidence as well. This was crucial for me personally as I can be dramatic, which takes away the joy out of a lot of things. Most importantly, he delivered a lot of multiple births as he’s worked at twins clinic as part of his extensive training so I know that he’s very, very skilled. I did plenty of reading before seeing any docs (as one would with a random twin pregnancy) and the other two obstetricians whom I saw before him didn’t tell me much more than what I already knew. Colin went a step further and started talking about statistics of the potential complications and even discussed acute TTTS at birth which I didn’t know could happen before seeing him! By this point I was sold and knew he’s the person who will deliver my babies. I mean, his website is also reflective of his thoroughness and his passion in educating his patients. You can find a lot of the information that you need for your pregnancy just from his website alone. It was nice to have that rather than just reading the generic pregnancy websites. I do like that Colin and his team took the effort to be elaborate with their website.

My C-section scar is shorter and way lower compared to my family members’ and friends’ which is another big plus. I felt bad as they got rather jealous of my scar.

Towards the end, I did get upset that he wanted to get my boys out slightly earlier than scheduled (35 weeks instead of 36 weeks) due to sIUGR of the second twin. I tried pushing to keep them longer but I’m glad that he was firm. I believe now that Colin made the right call and this decision was made confidently and without a shred of doubt. My sons, being as small as they were, thrived. They grew bigger and stronger at SCN which was much better than being in my womb.

Ow, Colin is also VERY evidence based so, ahem, don’t tell him if you’re planning to consume your placenta, or you’ll get a bit of a tirade and some sarcasm, albeit it coming from a place of concern ;p I’ve been fine thankfully after consuming all three of my placentas ;)

Thank you Colin and team, sincerely, for your care. I wish I can bring John and Michael to see you to say hello but they’re now such a handful, and we’re still trying to survive them now! XD

If you can’t tell already, I HIGHLY recommend Dr Colin Walsh for your pregnancy care. You and your bub (s) will definitely be in more than capable hands.

P. S. The ultrasound photos are really special!

We found Dr Colin to be outstanding throughout the pregnancy and delivery.

My partner and I quite enjoyed his sense of humour and dry wit.

Dr Colin had a way of explaining things that would appease my anxiety. He was very confident, matter of fact and precise in each conversation about my and my babies health.

The accuracy and details of the scans were impressive, he would always take his time to make sure he had each measure correct before moving on to the next task.

The planned c section was a very positive experience. Dr Colin explained this well beforehand and it was exactly as he had predicted. I appreciated his follow up in the rooms at The Mater Hospital and continuum of care.

I have recovered extremely well post c section and look forward to my 6 week follow up.

We are beyond impressed and feel extremely lucky to have had Dr Colin for our first pregnancy and baby. We will not hesitate in recommending him to any new parents and hope to see him again if we decide to have another baby.

Dr. Colin was my obstretician. He was very thorough in his clinical assessment and kept us well informed throughout the pregnancy. He is very knowledgeable and answered all my queries patiently.
He performed all the scans personally and him being a maternal fetal specialist, I was assured that the scans were accurate. We always felt we were in safe hands and well cared. Highly recommend him and his friendly staff.

Very knowledgeable professional approachable doctor! I had high risk pregnancy with MCDA twin boys and had c section with Dr Colin Walsh 2.5 years ago. My whole pregnancy journey was well managed by Dr Walsh and his team. With very frequent ultrasound scans towards to the end of my pregnancy, I could have all these scans done by Dr Walsh in his practice. The c section went smoothly and surgical scar is minimal now. Dr Walsh's receptionists are amazing too. Thank you very much for all of your professional care. I highly recommend Dr Walsh.

Colin and his team were amazing during our pregnancy journey and we could not recommend them highly enough.

Having all the scans done in rooms meant there was no waiting for results, which put me at ease.

There is no doubt we will be seeing Colin and the team again when the time comes for baby #2.

I cannot sing Dr. Walsh's praises enough. Being an expat, it was extremely important for me to see an obstetrician who had practiced outside of Australia. Dr. Walsh has practiced in multiple countries, in multiple medical systems (including America, where I am from), so he could appreciate my questions and helped guide me through an already stressful experience here in Australia with ease. He got where I was coming from and never made me feel silly or ill-prepared. I am a total type-A personality and I felt so relaxed in Dr. Walsh's rooms, I had no concerns going into labor-I knew my baby and I were in the best of hands. Dr. Walsh has a kind but no-nonsense bedside manner which I found very reassuring. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Highly recommend Dr Colin Walsh and his team.
I had a traumatic and high risk first pregnancy so I wanted someone who had the experience and compassion I needed to get me safely through a second pregnancy.
Dr Colin Walsh was patient and caring throughout my whole pregnancy, happily answered my endless amount of questions and explained everything to me as the pregnancy progressed. I felt safe and he was always vigilant with my monitoring.
I lovely, kind man who has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

We engaged Colin as our obstetrician for the delivery and care of our first child. Colin and his team are very warm, friendly and welcoming. As this was our first child, Colin provided an exceptional level of service and put our mind at rest knowing we were in the best possible care. Colin also performs all his own scans as he is a maternal-fetal specialist which provided extra piece of mind, as a few friends have had bad stories getting external providers to do their scans. Highly recommend Colin and couldn't be happier with our experience

Dr Colin Walsh is a brilliant Obstetrician and a lovely man. He took very good care of us throughout my first pregnancy and birth. We found that he was always on time for our appointments which is incredible for a Doctor delivering babies every day- we really valued that he respects everyone’s time and is punctual. We never felt rushed in our consultations and he was always so patient with our questions. We always felt that we were in the very best hands- He explains everything so well and provides thorough information. He has a great sense of humour and is a very calm person - this made us feel relaxed, even during the birth. He really listened to our birth wishes and made us feel that we were in control in terms of decisions. All the ladies at reception are so lovely and accommodating- we highly recommend Colin and his wonderful team.

Dr Collin is highly professional, knowledgeable and compassionate obstetrician and we owe the life of our first born daughter to him. Lucky we chose him not knowing our pregnancy would be high risk but it turned out to be and we are so grateful for the care he provided us. Also went onto have a fabulous experience with our second child. Collins team are also great which makes the whole process of booking etc seamless - Highly recommended

We had wonderful support and guidance throughout our pregnancy and caesarean birth for our rainbow baby boy Quinton, under the care of Colin. Having previously lost our twin boys in 2019 due to complications in the second trimester, the journey to begin our family had not been straightforward. For Quinton’s pregnancy, we chose Colin in case of any repeat complications. He was also highly recommended by our previous obstetrician. It was wonderful having a “one stop shop” for our pregnancy as Colin was able to do all of the ultrasounds as well. If you are looking for an obstetrician who is also a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, I would highly recommend Colin. He is kind, understanding, knowledgeable and practical.
