I was a client of Dowson Turco Lawyers (DTL) and have had negative experiences with them. The lawyer who handled my case did not disclose fully the potential conflict of interest their firm had in representing me and also a previous partner.

DTL employs some lawyers who do not have a profile on their website, and are thus contracted out. I have since had experience with better lawyers, and when my current lawyer (who is superior and is from a different firm) tried to look up the lawyer from DTL who represented me previously, they could not find any information on them or track them down, which makes accountability difficult. When I was a client of DTL, their lawyer handling my case organised a meeting with a senior lawyer in DTL due to a complex issue involving the conflict of interest, but the senior lawyer did not show up to the meeting, and did not advise ahead of time this was the case, so I ended up speaking with the same lawyer about the same issues with no advancement of my case at this meeting (and the associated billing time). The senior lawyer did eventually email, but the conflict of interest was never explicitly addressed.

When I submitted a review on Google last year, a senior lawyer sent a threatening email saying my review was unfounded and that I was never a client, which was incorrect. He did not have all the facts, and levelled accusations in my direction with information they obtained from an unrelated case to the review at the time (information they should not have accessed). I removed my first review and gave them months to remedy the situation, to my avoidable dismay. This senior lawyer also did not know what another lawyer in their firm was doing, even though they were both copied in the email chains.

For my perspective, I have had a concatenation of negative experiences. There was a regrettable lack of empathy, misrepresentation, multiple instances of miscommunication, false accusations and minimal attempt at conciliation or mediation needed for acceptable negotiation.

Dowson Turco has been a great source of referrals for Linton in various areas of law, such as family, estates and criminal. The clients we share always speak highly of Dowson Turco and their professionalism. It is a pleasure to work with them and help their clients.

As an executive coach I have referred numerous coaching clients to Dowson Turco Lawyers for legal advice on complex employment law issues. Primarily Nicholas Stewart, who is an outstanding employment lawyer providing expert advice on matters relating to unfair dismissal, contract breach and workplace bullying and harassment. Nicholas has not only delivered outstanding outcomes, but has done so with great professionalism, care and empathy for my clients who find themselves in distressing employment situations. I would highly recommend engaging Nicholas Stewart and the team at Dowson Turco Lawyers to manage you your legal matters.

Trauma informed lawyers - sensitive and bespoke service for GLBTIQ + victims of injustice. The lawyers are disability aware and trauma-informed so that difficult situations are handled sensitively. The necessity to repeat upsetting details is reduced so that a personalised outcome can be achieved to balance the outcome with the traumatic journey that the justice system can often bring. The team of lawyers work well together to maximise your chance of a positive experience so that the journey though challenging, is managed effectively and with your opportunity to consult personally. Plenty of opportunities to express your feelings and needs and set clear and personal boundaries so that the process is clearly organised and explained up front. Nicholas Stewart and Leo Quach excellent, clear and professional. Also tough lawyers. You want them on your side. "
