Dove & Olive reviews
74Solid local with good food and a wide selection of drinks. Comfortable local atmosphere, great for lunch and afternoon beverages.
A great pre match football pubs for a decent feed and even better selection of craft and other beers on tap.
I come here basically every week for IQ trivia (which is almost always booked out). The food is amazing and the range of craft beers (and some spirits!) Is phenomenal. The staff are polite and professional (especially important as our group has several people with dietary restrictions).
The food was disgusting! Ordered the Dove & Olive Pie. Less than a teaspoon of mushy peas on top of pastry (?) that was as hard as concrete & could not cut into. The meat (?) was so dry & tasteless that to swallow I gagged! How could the D&A arrogantly serve this food to there unsuspecting customers? !
Great service and atmosphere. A decent happy hour (4 -7) for a local ale. Loved the sausages and mash. The chicken palmy was huge
Rude bar staff, completely unwilling to diverge from their menu, ignore patrons whilst listening to their airpods.
12$ schooners, insane. Food is mediocre at best but priced above average.
Mould in the corners of the walls, dirty tables stay dirty for up to an hour.
Booked the upstairs 'balcony' area for a surprise night for my wife and had a great night. We were well looked after. The area was perfect, nicely set up and food and drinks options kept the crowd happy.
Dove & Olive. What a great space. Last night I had a party for my sister and brother in law for their baby on the way.
I cannot praise the staff enough. Mid melt downs they were there and so accomadating. To the owner, you've got a great team. Thank you so much, we had the best day ️? ️
Great little neighbourhood pub. This place feels like a genuine community pub, with a great selection of craft beers, and friendly service. Right near the light rail and Central Station. And they are great at ensuring everyone stays Covid-safe.
Great both in winter and summer.a great hideaway pub from the hectic Surry Hills.
Excellent food, wide range of craft bars and also a good wine menu
Great pub food, burgers, steaks, fish and chips. I been here a few times for the chicken schnitzel, a big feed
This was definitely a good Sunday Roast.we had the Lamb perfectly cooked and very tasty. We will be back
This is the first time I have visited the Dove and Olive even though I am a local to the area. We were here to celebrate a birthday. We sat downstairs and ate firstly in front of the windows. What a wonderful spot. I had the schnitzel which was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked and nice and thick. The gravy made it even better. After lunch we discovered the bar upstairs. We sat there comfortably enjoying a few gin and tonics. I really appreciated the quality of the glassware It made all the difference!
Wow, this place was rocking when we turned up. It was Tuesday and that is their trivia night. No wonder the hubbub. We had a table upstairs and I had a lovely chicken snitzel with mushroom sauce. The trivia was very challenging but fun. Worth a visit
Selection of beers a bit hit & miss but great that there's a variety that changes frequently. Food is tasty and great daily specials.
Sunday afternoon roast. Great cuts of meat, veggies cooked to perfection. Great selection of tap beers. Kids menu is fantastic as well just as appetizing as the adults meals and very reasonable.
There was a mix up of my order due to menu descriptions but the management of Dove & Olive were so nice about it. They really know how to take care of diners.
Great outdoor as well as indoor setting.
Very spacious.
Attractive decore.
Many choices for seating. Sofas, chairs, small group, large group etc.
Several suitable places for private functions.
Great staff, very helpful, cheerful and low-key non-intrusive.
Varieties of dishes to choose from a great menu.
Very tasty food preparations.
Moderately priced. Good value for money.
We had a private function:
RAISE THE BAR.
20 Speakers, 10 Bars.
And, this was one of the 10 chosen bar location.
The event was organised by City of Sydney Council and Light Rail in Syrry Hill Precinct.
Speakers were extraordinary, great pioneers in their business field.
Successful and accomplished speakers were very friendly, mingled with all the attendees and their presentations were very very interesting and greatly informative and very relevant in the current situation of the world.
Inclusive ideas put forward by speakers with solid track record and statistics.
Really enjoy coming here to chill, eat and drink. Great selection of beer to wet your whistle in comfort and relaxed atmosphere, recommend their locally brewed ales, which go well with a serving of fries. My go-to meal here is the nachos with loaded fries, their unofficial eating challenge ;) Located near and just down from the Surry Hills light rail station - so quite convenient for inner city dwellers and bar hoppers alike.
