Loved the Dorrigo Show, lots to see and good old fashioned country events on offer. I was particularly fascinated with the wood chopping events as I had never seen them in real life before. Loved the poultry shed, and watching the dog trials and horse events. I had never been to a country show before and really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I had a wonderful time. The rain did not dampen my time there. There were plenty of entertainment at the Dorrigo Show.

Lovely spot, green fresh cut lawn.
Open spaces, clean & tidy facilities.
One of the best town Show-ground camping we have stayed. I highly recommend this camp spot to travellers
Well worth the $20 or $30 for power.
Congratulations Dorrigo Show Society
Thank you

This well kept showground is a hive of activity the third weekend in November when the annual show is held.
However during the other times you will see regular users such as the Pony Club, Team Penning and the Community Nursery operating.
Outside of these the showground is available for casual campers with a onsite caretaker.
The basic amnesties are showers, toilets, electrical hook ups and grass pads.
The annual Blue Grass festival usually in October sees the ground packed with families enjoying a wide range of Blue Grass performances.
The show under the very capable directorship of Show President Sally Duckett however is hard to fault.
Often their is a Friday night rodeo before the show proper kicks off on the Saturday.
The show competition includes livestock such a large beef cattle section and a full ring of horse events.
The horde events include sporting, show jumping, rider classes, hacks & Hunters. Some years heavy horses and Brumby classes maybe held.
The Grand Parade around 2-2.30pm Saturday is a traditional event with a full ring of horses, cattle, antique machine, vintage cars etc.
Sideshow alley under the guardianship of the Showmen's Guild for a smaller town is great usually a couple of major teenage rides like Kamikaze as well as the ever popular dodgem car tracks along with an array of joints and sideshow foods from popular outlets like Rock N Roll JJ's Diner.
Show bag joints like Show bags R Us provide a city type experience in the country.
The Dorrigo pavilion is well worth an hour of your time as its contains amongst other things, cooking sewing, flowers, patchwork, photographs, school exhibits, crafts etc. Many of these maybe themed.
Outside of the showmen's food the main dining room operates for morning tea, lunch and afternoon teas. Sadly they close around 5pm not offering dinner. They used to have simple dinner fare like toasted sandwiched but not now.
There are other food outlets like the Lion's BBQ, sandwich stalls and a variety of outside food stalls selling items like Buffalo pies, curly potatoes etc. Usually around 4 coffee stall's.
Wood chopping along with poultry can be an interesting visit during your time at the Dorrigo show.
Many community groups also mount displays.
Antique cars, trucks, tractors and sometimes motorcycles are all part of the action free after your admission is paid. Some people often find that taking out membership is the most economic way of taking on all the show has to offer.
Other free displays usually include Steve McEwan snake display along with face painting etc.
Saturday night really comes alive at 8.15pm when a great display of fireworks by C D Pearson Fireworks takes place in the main arena.
I was at the 2022 Dorrigo show and found after a break of three years renewed enthusiasm provided a great community event.
The facilities have been improved in that time.
Only downside was the ladies auxiliary dining room the door lady lacked any social skills and turned people away while verbally harrassing others to have things done her way in her time. Just keep the building open for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and DINNER as they have a great ring program that goes to 9pm so people are looking for DINNER.
As usual the event finished with a great fireworks display

Great price $20 for unpowered lovely grassy well kept grounds and clean toilets and hot showers. Toilets have sensor light and night light for safety too. Despite being here just before Christmas it was quiet but oddly freezing cold! Family seam at Danger Falls though? !

Really enjoyed the stay. Showers and toilets basic but clean and tidy. Nice spot. It's a budget camp that's very pleasant
