Dooralong Transformation Centre

They called me 'deceitful' and 'antisocial'.

Apart from a few individuals who were kind and decent - you know who you are - I found many clowns who should not be there.

Aftercare was a 'phone number on a card. Rubbish.

I would not recommend going here.

This is NOT a place that I would recommend to anyone who is not a "practicing Christian. " Even though my "religion" on my birth certificate is, Salvation Army, I was shocked to find that I was subjected to draconian religious beliefs and practices in this place. They absolutely have "an impressive resort style property" but, that doesn't take away the fact that you are forced to accept certain ideologies that are so far removed from "The Salvation Army, " for e.g, sessions where people are "speaking in tongues. " It's all just so ludicrous. My advice would be to steer clear of this place.

No back up after you leave which is sad. Loved my time there although once I left Jen Dobel never really cared. Lucky I got well on my own after years of homelessness after Dooralong and sent Jen a pic never heard back?

I did six mouths here in 2020 I am a stronger happier better person because of the work of everyone at this rehab most people like me do still use and are addicts of some type when we leave but most of us do it in a controled way and not on heavy drugs and are on a better path you receive a program that helps you understand your addiction mental health an I highly recommend this rehab it has truly saved my life I have great memories and life skills if you need help atleast try this rehab was my first and havnt needed to go back thank you everyone team etc for Every thing love Lou

The most best enjoyable fun rehab I've ever been to have been clean and sober for 22months 17 days and free from gambling living in extended care.dooralong saved my life restored my faith, hope, willingness, courage the best kind caring support by staff case workers they go above and beyond.lots of freedom.i thought it was Impossible to get clean and sober but my actions and dooralong made it possible.anyone struggling and want to give it a go if I can do it anyone can do it 43558000.thankyou salvos

Unprofessional.the place/location itself is lovely, a couple of the staff members should not work there they should be replaced with more professional, compassionate and understanding people, something they lack! They have failed my daughter big time who has struggled for years with alcohol abuse. They know where I’m coming from.

I have seen the results of a number of people I know go through Dooralong rehab and I am amazed at the persistence and patience of the staff and the manner in which they manage the live in rehab program that generally lasts 12 months. Not everyone I know lasted but that is simply the story of addiction. On the flip side I have seen people succeed who were unlikely too and this was due to the staff and generally the salvos program. A world class facility just a pity Govt's don't put enough funding in.

Absolutely appalling management, the staff do not even know the processes for applicants, communication between staff is POOR and ineffective. Someone genuinely wanting help was refused despite openings at the facility. How is anyone supposed to better themselves? This facility needs to be shut down and reopened under new management! Will be taking my complaint to the highest levels including relevant ombudsmen

They sent me home with someone else's medication abd refused a change over, showers and toilets are covered in months of black mould, and you must wait a minimum of 45 minutes at reception, canteen, for your support worker etc, takes up to 1.5 hours for your designated apppointments with workers etc, and your expected to do everything around that, groups, aa/na/ga meetings etc before being allowed to leave and then you get accused for nothing

Currently a participant at the dooralong transformation center. The program is excellent, the staff are compassionate and caring, overall its an excellent facility to recover and find yourself again.
