Lunch Fri 24/11/23. Quite disappointing. Prices have risen and there's not much on the plate! The tofu, rice and veg plate had minimal & the only veg was green beans. It was nice enough. We waited a while and sat outside as it was very crowded inside. Ordered tea & pumpkin cakes which were chewy & weird. They stuffed this up as we'd finished our tea by the time the buzzer went off for the "scones". We were back and forth to the service desk as there's no table service. You have to take your dirty dishes to the disposal area after also. The whole time we were there, we saw no staff come and wipe over tables. Yuk! Lots of people with colds and flu around, mainly overseas Asian tourists -gross,! Won't be back. Seems to be a very lucrative money- making venture now.

I was quite excited coming back, last time I came was 2 years ago. I have to say it was quite a dissapointing experience. The food quality dramatically declined and price inclined since 2 years ago! The food two years ago was what I missed. But $5 surcharge for each order and $20 for noodle and $4.50 for a teabag reminiscent of what would be served in the lobby of a IBIS Budget was a bit of a letdown

Located at the ground floor of the premise, lies this nice little tea house with very zen vibes.

Menu is all vegetarian and vegan. The meat options on the menu are actually tofu/glutton replacements made to look like the original meat dish (was completely fooled until I look a bite - look at the "cha sieu" attached)

Queue can get quite long during peak lunch hours (good sign), so would recommend to go there either just before 12pm and/or after 1: 30 to beat rush hour

Really good vegetarian options here with a large selection of choices. We ordered the wonton noodles and the char siu. The serving sizes are rather typical, and all the dishes are $20 or similar. If you are visiting the temple this is a great place to eat, it is a little cafeteria style place. The wait time can be a while during the busy periods.

Overall food is normal
We ordered vegetarian and char siu lo mein
A cup of chrysanthemum honey tea and a cup of lotus tea
and a side of salt and pepper mushrooms
The noodle sauce is a bit salty
Strong soy sauce flavor
Overwhelms the taste of the food itself
The taste of the dishes is not as good as when I came here a few years ago
good tea
The taste of salt and pepper mushrooms is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside
The inside is a bit like fried/blanched mushrooms
The taste is very soft
not bad
There are also dry goods available in the store
The overall dining environment is quite comfortable
The grandma at the cash register is very friendly

Wow these vegetarian / vegan foods were delicious! My Dad ordered the prawns and ate the whole thing I didn’t realise it was vegan. My soup was so delicious too. I really liked it here.

Went here today. The worst food we have ever had! Bland, overpriced and extremely poor service. Our meals came out 40mins apart with no apology and told to wait rudely, huge line up for a cold drink. Organisation could be alot better. Will not be returning.
I now realise why we saw people eating lunch from their cars before entering

The quality of food and drinks reduces every single time I visit. The lotus tea used to be in nice glasses and actually taste good. Now it’s a clumsy green tea with ice thrown into plastic cups. The lady at the counter is rude and has poor customer service. They run out of ingredients and comprise the food they serve. You could just say you don’t cook a certain food today due to lack of ingredients instead of making a lousy one ingredient mushroom bun and only have cabbage inside. It’s not worth the money at all. Will not spend a dollar here again and don’t recommend it.

The food is not terrible. But severely overpriced for a very small portion size - 20 for these sad, half filled plastic buckets of noodles.

$11 for 6 nuggets.

What really embittered the experience was how we asked for tomato sauce for our 2 year old son - and the girl scowled at my wife and said they couldn’t. My wife gently asked again, she said she’d ask the kitchen. The sauce plate sat there for 5 min as my wife stood there, and she finally asked again only to be told she was “too busy” handing out a few trays and told her to ask “someone else”.

So I went behind the counter took the sauce plate, asked another staff who wordlessly, obliged.

Terrible. Beautiful temple complex ruined by this so called restaurant. Overpriced, and the duck soup was disgusting, noodles in it were of the 50cent packet variety. Advertised for $12 but charged $20. $8 for iced tea. Rip off. Service was rude, zero warmth or even a smile from any of the staff. Come on Nan thien, get rid of whoever is running this eatery

The vegetarian restaurant in Wollongong, you need to drive into the Nantian temple.

It is located under the main stairs of temple. Very nice and peaceful restaurant.

We came quite late before the temple closing. We cannot order food anymore.

There are variety categories of cold drinks, including Lipton tea, Aleo, Bundaberg, green tea and coca…each cost about $4.5 to $5.

The food is pretty decent, but quite expensive for what they are. Service could have been a bit friendlier.

Worst food ever, please avoid this place, do not waste your money here.
Used to be a very sophisticated vegetarian cafe, that was the reason I visited. But now it is absolutely rubbish. I have to throw all the food in the bin!

This used to be a favourite spot of mine i think it may have changed ownership.
Food portions are now smaller, prices are now higher and the friendly staff have been replaced with staff who just do what they need to.

The Crispy Fried (fake) chicken used to be an every visit order for my starter, you would get a plate full with dipping sauce now its well terrible i have attached a photo of the exact way it cane from the kitchen still on the serving tray (pieces are smaller, drier, no dipping sauce and lets just not mention the garnish.

Mains were somewhat ok however did not taste as fresh as usual possibly because they are now served in disposable single use paper cups. Also when you order something that shows bok choy you don't expect a broccoli substitute it's a completely different flavour.

Drinks were way below the standard they used to be aswell and at $8 a cup of iced tea i expected way more.

$20 per cup of main.
$11or14 per appalling Crispy Chicken starter.
$8 per drink

Ended up being around $70.

After many years of returning to this place i unfortunately don't think i will eat there again.

Wonton Seaweed Soup was great. The dry noodle had a bit too much msg/veg powder. It s good overall.
