Destination Southern Highlands reviews
23Centrally located in Mittagong and close to Alexandria Lake and got souvenirs shops and businesses and shopping alike
Stopped here to see the tulips absolutely glorious. The people in the visitor center were very friendly and informative. There was a brilliant selection of gifts, which enabled me to start my Christmas shopping early. Well worth the visit
Great place to visit during Tulip time in the Southern Highlands. Staff are very knowledgeable and also sell great local produce, I bought a bottle of Joadja whisky, can't wait to try it.
Stopped here as the first location of the Tulip trail 2023 (Sep 16)
Staff of the center are really welcoming and attentive. Center is filled with souvenirs, maps, local products and gift items.
Toilets and parking available.
As for tulips, there are few flower beds in-front of the center filled with beautiful flowers in full bloom.
Very helpful and friendly staff member assisted with alternate routes due to road closure. Some lovely local sale items. Very good historical books and brochures too.
Amazing visitor information centre. In addition to free local tourist brochures, you can buy maps, books, local products such as jams, sauces, and wines, and lots more.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Lady at this info centre was very helpful. Gave us a book on The Old Hume Highway which was exactly the information we needed.

We live in the beautiful New South Wales southern Highlands and wouldn't live anywhere else, sure it can be a bit cool or hot but it beats the city life hands down.
Nice little place to stop for a break. Lots of beautiful tulips around in Spring. The shop sells little trinkets, honey etc.
Very friendly staff member and provided plenty of options to choose from and good advice on what's happening this weekend
Lovely place, with friendly staff and big choice of art, craft, wine, jam from local. If you don't decide yet which way the best suits you, come in and definitely have handy advice!
Always a pleasurable drive from Sydney. Good wineries, a fabulous doughnut stand and a couple of good restaurants
So helpful here! Call or email for any advice. I contacted them as I needed an accessible room for my mother. I received a reply with 4 hotel and bnb options. Saved me so much time! I also called in here on arrival, there is a lovely shop and again more friendly advice on what to do!
Excellent quality local products all at your fingertips. Stopped by to use the rest rooms (very clean) and was lured into the visitors centre by the window display. Lovely staff, and a fantastic array of alcohol from the local wineries and distillery, jams, sauces, a variety of other gourmet food products, gifts, even a wine tasting. Well done Mittagong.
Great knowledgeable staff.
Ladies were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Some nice local items in store for sale.
We went to go for a walk, parked at the info centre & off we went, ended up being a nice long walk too.
The staff member who served us was pleasant, listened to us and made great suggestions. Unfortunately the river side walk was very dangerous, because of all the ️ rain, it had not been mowed and the grass was long, wet and very slippery. We walked past the former Berrima Goal, the visited the Court House. I was disappointed in the quality of the slides and videos in the Court Room. Both were badly distorted due to age. It seems a pity they have not been replaced or upgraded, as I had really enjoyed listening to them about 10 years ago. Lunch at the nearby ancient cafe was great
I had a beef and red wine pie. I enjoyed every bite.
Shirly sure knows the area well! Best service we have had at an information centre. Shirly is a fantastic ambassador for the area. Thanks for all your recommendations
