Why do I have to pay a subscription so as to view the payor details I made for a strata payment Macquarie?
All I get is a number and the amount so its up to me to work out who the account payment was. Nothing but pure greed Mac.

The worst payment system one could possibly imagine. Not only did they miss a scheduled direct debit payment rendering us ineligible to vote at an AGM, they suddenly resumed direct debits without authority.

Cash is legal tender, but DEFT has stopped allowing this via Australia Post. Not convenient for customer. Convenient for Macquarie. Not all of us bank online.

1. The surcharges are ridiculously high.
2. I'm not in a position to avoid them because our body corporate forces us to use them.

I had canceled my account, and they still processed $2640 which they were never supposed to and shouldnt of been able to because, on their site it says when you cancel your account, they cancel any PENDING or future transactions, it also says they delete your information. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, i still got charged and then recieved a dishonour fee because of their lies and incompetence. I got promised a $50 deposit into my bank as a “gesture of goodwill” but this too was a lie. They are a bunch of fraudsters and im reporting them to the ACCC.

Nope. Nope nope nope. I don’t know why a strata company would use this. I want to set up direct debit for my two commercial properties body corporate fees. However I can’t do a direct debit for the amount of the invoice. It’s just a nominated fee for a nominated time period. How absurd! When I go to do my BAS each quarter, I want the figure on my bank statement to match the invoice! Absolutely ridiculous.

Paul was the most helpful operator one could wish to have as I only had minimal information which could be used to find my lost payments! Thank you Paul for such outstanding service!

Worst payment system ever! Not sure why strata companies use this. I have sent 2 cheques for approx. $28k for multiple properties. When the first cheque wasn't drawn on, no contact was made, the cheque was not returned. I assumed it was lost in the post, so wrote up a second. Only after the second wasn't drawn on I made enquiries. Our accounting system balances, our remittance balances. However DEFT payments automatic payment allocation does not balance. My options, write up 17+ individual cheques (not to confuse their sophisticated auto allocation systems) or go to Aust Post and have each levy scanned and allocated against this cheque. Is this what I have to do every quarter? Why does strata use this payment system? It's a nightmare!

Pathetic customer service. When I called to talk to them about an issue I was facing (charged more than what their "Payment Schedule Confirmation" email shows), I was advised to send an email. So I then proceeded to email this organisation. The response received from them never answered any of the questions I asked. Instead the email tells me "DEFT has been cleared with the ACCC and the current legislation". They assume that every complaint is about their charges. I was personally ok with the charges considering I was getting the benefits of airline points. You should really train your staff on how to read and respond to enquiries / complaints. Issue was never resolved. I needed to escalate to AFCA to get a resolution.

I called up to get help setting up an account and was told I have a "pretty name". I am a 30 year old woman, not a 5 year old flower girl.

Agree with all reviews. It's extremely poor when using deft to pay rent, that you are forced to pay a Surcharge to Maquarie each time.
Consumer Affairs should look at why Tennants are made to use this system by their Rental Agents, when direct debit is free.

They Charged my Card Twice for no reason & so many days to get back refund for their system fault.

Seems impossible to get consumer help for DEFT. Most "new" methods simplify matters and pinch a few $, but this one is unique in that it complicates payments and sill robs you.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. This system is a joke. Charged $15 because of my rent being reversed out of my bank. Just a way to get extra money

Wouldn't recommend using this service, unfortunately our local real estate agency insist that we make our fortnightly rent payment through DEFT. That's additional $20 service fee annually. I really don't see the purpose of this service. Can someone explain? Besides Macquarie Bank robbing people

Still charging such high surcharges is the lowest of the low behaviour. Pure money grab which hits people paying their housing pretty severely in fees as most of comments state.

As many other reviewers I couldn't find the 0 star to give to this money hungry company. They charge a bulky 1.5% surcharge for a transaction. My rates are about $950 a quarter so I have to fork-out an additional $14.25.
This is the real estate industry choice - money grabbers- they could easily accept credit card payments but they choose to pass the fees onto the end users. I have asked the finance person in the agency, they do not accept cheques because the bank charges them a fee, they do not accept credit card payments because they bank charges them a fee.

The actual bank fee on any credit card transaction for business is 0.46% but DEFT charges an illicit 1.5% fee!

Horrible company.

I used this company's system for paying our rent for last house, after we left the house, I canceled my future payment on the interface, and it said "pending", but it was withdrew, and then an email came and told me that I didn't pay the rent! So I'm calling their phone number, but they don't take phone call.

Don't use their system!
