Me and my friend went to David Jones to return a bag she had gotten. Before we went there her and her mum went to ask about all the receipts they would need. My friend had gotten all the receipts she needed and we went in ready to exchange the bag and go home. However we had to wait approximately 5 minutes for someone to finally help us and a young brunette woman helped us. We told her we needed to exchange the bag and she immediately got defensive and it looked like she wasn't understanding so she got an older woman who we later found out was Vicky to help us. Vicky talked to my friend in a condescending way due to the fact that we are teenagers. And told my friend she wasn't allowed to get an exchange because apparently she didnt have the right receipts and she wasnt allowed to use her mums card. We were nice and respectful towards both ladies but they were hostile and rude when we tried to explain to them our pov. Me and my friend were about to leave the store and she rang her mum to tell her, her mum told us to go back and put her on the phone to vicky. Vicky told my firends mum that it was illegal for my friend to use her card however my friends mum told vicky she works in the legal industry and that was not true so Vicky changed her story and said it was story policy.me and my friend then left the store and her mum rang the store manager and she said that my friend had the right to exchange the bag and she had all the documents. Vicky is terrible at her job and doesn't deserve to work at David Jones.

I went to buy a pair of velcro straps white shoes in woman size for my autistic n nonverbal daughter. I lady staff in woman shoes department she helped us to find right shoes n size for my daughter and she ordered online for us. Best customer service

Team at castle hill is amazing
Really nice customer service. One of staff member Alisar helped me out today with refund of a faulty product, she went above and beyond to assist. So happy with customer service

Review is for Natalia in the shoe department today, Natalia is an amazing employee, she helped me a lot with picking my favourite shoes from Whittner, Natalia had been soo patient finding the right size for me despite the store being soo busy today… and I made her go in and out several times getting the right size shoes and changed my mind to a different colour in the last minute….
she also showed me the insoles to put into the shoes that helped me fit on the sides as the shoe was fitting perfectly length wise but had some gaps on the sides… with the insoles they fit me perfectly. I even picked my favourite colour and so excited to wear it to work. David Jones is lucky to have an employee like Natalia, she’s a Super Woman…!

Lovely lady in the Homeware section served me, she was wonderful. I purchased two mugs which were stationed at the front entrance and I had lined up to process payment at the closest till available, apparently that is against David Jones law! The first lady at the till was so incredibly rude and told me I had to buy at the homeware section and that I cant pay at the clothing section and hastily pointed to where I was ‘supposed’ to go, I asked her where that section was and was ignored. I am not a quiet person either - other customers had even looked over at this interaction. After finding the section on my own and having a chat the lovely lady in homeware kindly told me that I in fact did not have to go to her to process payment.whatever, that other lady has issues and if not for her would give 5 stars for the kind lady

Had a really worst experience with one staff member (An Old man in kitchen section on a weekend). Took 2 casseroles to the counter (price tag showing $67 & $83),

The employee scanned the items and said, the prices have now gone up for these items, so it will be $76 & $99
I said, But the displayed price is different on the floor? They have to honour the price they have displayed it for.
He said, that's not possible as the system does not allow them,
I said, its misleading
He said rudely "You can choose not to Buy. " in front of other customers near the counter.
I said, that's cheating.
Another employee (a lady) came over and honoured the displayed price and was able to run the transaction on the system for the displayed price.

At the end, I got the items for the honoured price, but the overall experience was soo unpleasant, It ruined my happiness of buying those casseroles.

Major down points -
Employee's inefficiency in using their system, in running such transactions.
Employee behaviour - Rude and telling off customer

David Jones - If telling customers "You can choose not to Buy. " is a tag line for your success, then you are soon to close down.

They have some staff there that do their best to help but they have some woeful processes. They will no longer bring in stock from other stores that they don’t have. (Failure 1) This is a fundamental failing for a major retailer. They did facilitate a purchase over the phone though from another store. They will charge you postage which is not payable if we’d bought online (Failure 2) That would have been great if the other store didn’t send two shoes of different sizes (Failure 3). Can we send back to the initiating store and have a credit processed to our account over the phone? No, you have to endure the inconvenience of traipsing back to the store (Failure 4). And finally they refused to refund the postage cost even though the initiating store sent two shoes of different sizes (Failure 5). Management needs to take a good hard look at their processes. David Jones used to have such a good reputation for customer service. Not anymore.

David Jones was always my go to de P t store, but now it is pretty ordinary.
Staff are nowhere to be found and since closing their coffee shops very little reason to shop there

Spent an hour with these thieves trying to get a refund. The customer service insisted my debit card was the problem and pushed me into accepting store credit. Made them restart their system and "magically" my money was refunded. It came down to laziness from the staff to process my refund properly. Rude and arrogant customer service from the "manager" as well.

Do not accept store credit and keep fighting for your money back. It's your right as a customer from this disgraceful company.

The negative reviews on here speak for themselves, getting a refund is a nightmare due to the incompetence of staff. Avoid this store.

I was here at the toy section and there was a friendly lady that was pushing the stock trolley, possibly adding more stock. Even though another staff member reminded us that they were closing in 20 mins, this lady didn’t push us and happily spoke to us about new lego items. I wish I got her name. I hope she gets recognised for her work. This is probably the only time I experienced friendly service at djs, usually its just a in and out vibe.

Customer service is none existence at ladies fashion at Castle Hill.
Some brands don't even have a customer rep and the place is a mess, the ones that do just stand around and talk instead of serving and helping customers.
The place is a mess and doesn't look prestigious.
Customer service rep at Saba was just keen to rap up and leave instead of helping and kept on ignoring me when I asked for help 3 times and finally said look I am finished for the day.
The place looks like you are shipping at a cheap store.
Whatever happened to David Jones!
Never going in there again.

Well what a pleasant unexpected surprise! I took my husband to David Jones in Castle Towers before going to watch Downton Abbey to buy some clothes. In a rush I was frustrated at the usual lack of service so approached a young sales assistant who was chatting to a disabled guy (obviously a local who she knew). The young lady smiled politely whilst giving me that look ‘just wait whilst I finish talking to Jerry, you can see he’s disabled! ’ I took a deep breath…. And then she turned and gave us the full ‘Amy treatment’. Omigod this woman was full on, absolutely hilarious and we felt we had just stepped onto a Whoopy Goldberg movie set. She immediately took us to the Sportscraft section, showed us the New Bedford pants every up to date gentleman had to have, selected the sizes and chatted the whole time. Amy was a delight, so helpful, upbeat, efficient and positive. We went in for one pair of trousers and ended up with four. Thanks to Amy our experience was delightfully memorable and restored my faith in good service, so sadly lacking these days. There’s a lot of people who could do with a little bit of quirky, happy, obliging Amy. She certainly put a smile on our faces. Amazing.

Very good, just like all the other David Jones store apart from the Sydney city store of course. Good selection in men's, ladies clothing, skin care, make-up, almost my one stop shop when it comes to gift ideas.
