Dangar Falls Lodge reviews
28This is a wonderful and peaceful camp ground! We stayed on a powered site for one night, and we really enjoyed the view and the location next to the Dangar falls. Our favorite place on our road trip!
I can't recommend this place enough, rolling green hills, five minutes from town, short work to the falls.
Ruth is an absolute pleasure, a true Campion, so helpful.
Such a nice, quiet and cozy campground. We even got to use an extension lead for free because it had to cross the „street“.
Would book again!
A list of what will await you if you might decide to stay here:
- There are only two toilets and 2 showers. For the showers 1 dollar per 5 minutes need to be paid. Better to take a shower at the Dangar Falls, which is very refreshing:)
- No kitchen facilities
Based on my experience, not worth the 30 dollars for an unpowered site.
We staid here on the campsite over a busy Easter-Weekend.
Good:
- Nice view in the mountains
- Friendly guy on the reception
- 1$ for 5min shower to avoid extensive use
Potentials for improvements:
- No water hookup for most sites
- Only one toilet per gender result in longer queues in front of the toilets (most people stay in tents and simple trailers and need the toilet)
(One morning women's toilet was out of paper)
- since the two shower-cabins are in one room / behind one door only one of the cabins is used at the same time (very long queues in the evening)
- No BBQ / no kitchen (only sink for dishwashing)
- 10$ for each child although nothing for children on the site (no playground.)
- No walk-ways (When raining you need to walk quite a distance through mud and wet grass to get to the toilet)
Lovely quiet campsite on the edge of the rainforest. So tranquil with the sound of the waterfall. Amazing star gazing. Simple facilities but great value for the price. Lovely spot to camp. Watch out for leeches!
My partner and I stayed last night and it was amazing! Awesome scenery, right next to danger falls. It was super clean and tidy! Inc the amenities. I highly recommend for single travellers, friends, couples and families! The care takers are super nice! Definitely add this to your camping list!
Wow! What an awesome place. 2 caravans, 1campervan and a couple in the lodge. I recommend this place highly. Great hosts, fabulous views, wonderful grounds and facilities.
Very relaxed camping spot right beside the beautiful Dangar Falls, set in lovely surroundings. Small enough as not to be too busy, and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. Definitely be back.
Such a beautiful place to stay, awesome spot, and the customer service was incredibly friendly.
Had the best time, the staff are lovely and very accomodating. The location is fantastic, bathroom amenities are clean and fires are allowed (if local fire conditions allow of course!)
Make sure you bring along some $1 coins for the showers.
Will be coming back one day!
Great campground! Lovely place supplying the simple needs for a great camping trip!
Bathrooms and showers provided, but keep in mind it is a campground so it’s not going to be luxury amenities.
A hidden gem & an amazing location. A beautiful scenic camping spot for caravans/vehicles or tents. Also newly renovated lodge rooms available. Such a great set up, all amenity facilities where very clean and well maintained. The hot showers where amazing. Great communication with Ruth and Steve who managed the site. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Dorrigo/Dangar falls! Cash & Card payments accepted, just call on the day before arriving to check for availability.
Dangar Falls Lodge was the perfect location to get ready for my wedding with plenty of rooms for my bridal party and a great living area which provided plenty of room for the makeup and hair team. Being so close to town and the falls it was very practical and easy for all the guests to find. It was very clean, spacious and Shona made sure all we needed was there and was very friendly and quick to reply. The views are stunning and made for some very nice photos. We really couldn’t have stayed and got ready anywhere nicer!
Sign in reception area says that you can pay all throughout the following day if you arrive late, however in the morning we were woken up by the owner Bill at 8am, demanding we pay now, taking our number plate down and threatening to take down our ladder (we have a rooftop tent) even though we assured him we would pay as soon as we wake up. After this situation we went to pay and left the camp. The next night we found ourselves back in the same campsite but with reception already closed again, the same scenario repeated itself with Bill even though he remembered us and when we told him about the sign in the reception he simply said that he wasn't the one to put it there.
If you are coming to this campsite just note that it is being run by an old-fashioned, rude guy, only concerned about money and not quality services.
Be aware that this place appears to be a cash only camp. No receipts offered.
The property is clean and with good views however thats as far as it goes.
Toilets and showers very very dirty. Showers are a block of 2 and not signed as male or female.
A great campsite with views across the valley to the bush, right next to the big falls and swimming hole. Only 1 or 2 km to Dorrigo township, and short drive to the Dorrigo National Park.
Stunnning stay, great facilities, very cost effective. Sits at the entrance to the walk to dangar falls.
Even with the gale force winds and rain we had a great time in Dorrigo. This is a pretty good camp right beside Dangar Falls. Reasonably priced.
Great location, amazing views and access to waterfall. Price was a little high. $90 for 2 cars, 3 adults and 1 child.
