Croydon Park Mechanical – Mechanics & Pink Slips Brake & Clutch AirCon Log Book Services reviews
15Very good service. Did a major job in a day. Very well priced. Friendly. Did no work until they told me what was needed; with quote for work. Highly recommend. Thanks gentlemen.
I've been using Croydon Park Mechanical for a few years since moving to the area. I've found them to be thorough and direct in servicing my car - telling me what needs to be done, and the impacts of doing/not doing certain tasks. My first service there uncovered some questionable work by my previous service centre. They always contact me for direction when a change to planned works arises, and give options at different price points if applicable.
Pricing is reasonable. Communication is straightforward. I can generally get a booking within a few days of calling (less than a week), and my car has always been serviced within a day.
Used them two years ago, had no issues. Actually had good impression of the shop and staff. This time same car, same regular service. The only known issue prior to the service was a broken cornering light bulb. I told them about the bulb at drop off, then was told would be looked into.
I was updated during the day. The guy told me 'the cornering light is expensive to fix'. I had one replaced before at dealership service center for $31. I knew it wouldn't be 'expensive'. So I told them to leave it. Later, I bought 2 bulbs for $24 on Amazon, and took me 2 minutes to swap both out after watching a short youtube Video.
Then the guy told me the coolant needs to be flushed. I told him that it was done at last service, and my car barely added any mileage since. He told me to hold the line while he confirms the situation. On coming back, he told me there's actually a leak of coolant. Since I had no issues with coolant before the service, so I asked if my car can pass pink slip without having this fixed. He said yes. I decided to leave this.
After picking up the car, I got a my first 'Coolant level low' warning in less than 1 week. I topped it up. Then warning again after a few days. The situation quickly worsen to 1 full top-up couldn't last me a 15km trip.
I called the shop and try to ask what the problem was. I was told they need to examine the car. So I took the car in and hoped that a quick check can tell me the issue, the cost and time to fix it. The three guys were having a break when I walked in. I was told I need to book the car in for a full inspection to identify the issue.
I booked the car to another mechanic. It was found out that one of the pipe connecting to the coolant pump was leaking.
This was my story.
Great service, very knowledgeable in car mechanics, been going to this business over 20 years.highly recommend
Top notch gents providing the best service I’ve had since owning a car. Highly recommend, family run and owned.
Not friendly or helpful at all. Need to learn customer service skills. Tried to charge me way more than other places. Considering the hard times we are in. Don't go here
Very quick and efficient service from Mick at Croydon Park Mechanical. With absolutely no notice whatsoever, he accommodated a pretty urgent e-safety check. Very friendly and going by the numerous positive reviews, I can see that this workshop has built a good loyal customer base. Thanks again.
Very professional, they actually listen to their customers. They take pride in their work not letting a car leave their shop until everything is as close to 100% as they can get it. They do go the extra mile for their customers.
The best service and everything explained. You will be happy with the service. Easy to talk to staff that will have u on the road in no time
Dealt with Joe twice now and all I can say he’s an absolute gentleman. Was happy to make time for me even though I could see how busy they were and charged me less than I though he would. Definitely a different experience to what I’m used to and will be recommending these guys to my family.
Rough on the outside attentive and professional on the inside. A good choice for honest service
Dropped car off suspecting brake issue
was advised calipers fine but replaced rotor and pads anyway
couple weeks later rotor is completely warped, pads worn.caliper was locked.repaired but charged twice for labor and parts and no accountability taken.
Not very often nowadays to find a mechanic you can absolutely trust. I’m lucky I’m in the neighbourhood. Mick is by far the the best combination of a mechanic I’ve seen: experienced, friendly, productive and good price. Long may he reign.
Joe and Mick have serviced my car as long as I’ve had it, but they’ve also serviced my parents’ and grandparents’ cars for the last 25 years. They’re a great team that have taken excellent care of us and our cars
