Croydon Medical Practice reviews
26Have been going to these two doctors for as long as I can remember, and have found them both caring and efficient
Actually came as a recommendation from a friend, so I was really disappointed. The receptionist was really nice and professional but I had a 10am appointment. I was told there was one person in front of me, then this lady came in asking about her 10: 30 appointment at 10: 15 and wouldn't accept that there was a queue because "she had to go food shopping" and walked into the doctor's office loudly asking about her appointment and the doctor actually promised to see her at 10: 30 loudly enough for the whole waiting room to hear. So she pushed infront of two other people with appointments because she caused a commotion. At 11am after waiting for an hour with an appointment there was still another person in front of me so I had to give up. Just really unprofessional and preferential treatment is super disappointing.
Hopefully in the future the practice can be transparent about wait times and not waste their patients time. A call to reschedule patients to save them the time wasted is more professional than letting a build up of a waiting room.
I have attended Croydon Medical Practice for a number of years. I have found the staff at the front desk to be friendly and accommodating and the doctors, professional, great diagnosticians and caring with family medical needs. We have seen Dr Nien Ha La and he has been very helpful and understanding. He listens. We have also seen Tram the physiotherapist who share the rooms. She is also excellent.
Croydon Medical Practice is in a great location next to Croydon Village (including a pharmacy if needed) and is adjacent to Croydon Train Station. All in all a very good experience.
My husband Mike is 78 (1945) and has been looked after very well by Ha La Nien (his bulk billing go-to local Dr for over the past 3 years). The practice is easily accessed, being next to Croydon railway station. Ha La is a friendly, intelligent sympton-focussed medical guy, who listens, investigates and communicates his advice well. He ensures COVID-FLU + other immunisations relevant to aging retirees like Mike are all up to date and regularly checks your overall health with relevant blood/urine tests and image scans to resolve any medical issues you bring up. We are very happy, comfortable & reassured Mike is under his care & advice.
We have been going to this practice for many years, the doctors are very caring and helpful.
I have always had an amazing experience with the older Dr. La when I need medical attention. My parents and the rest of my family go to see him, and he is loving, caring and a very easy person to talk to. He always has time to listen to my health issues and is patient. I would definitely recommend going to Croydon Medical Practice because it is welcoming and the doctors are great.
Have recently been using this clinic and have wonderful results in solving my ailments and explains everything thoroughly for me.
I walked in this practice with my little daughter (1.5 yr old) who bumped her head in the morning and had a slight cut but heavy fever, hence I was not able to make an appointment.
The receptionist asked me to wait advising the doctor would see us after 2 patients on the queue and there is no need of fresh appointment. Four patients went by and there were already new patients waiting which I believe had an appointment already. I waited for more then 1 hr only to be told at last that first the doctor would seethe ones who had appointments. This is fair but the point I want to make here is I should have been pre informed
that the waiting time may extend if the appointee came in between. I then left the clinic and found another doctor nearby. This is absolutely frustrating and I hope this would change in the coming days and patients would be briefed properly.
Dr Nien Hung La has always taken amazing care of my mum who is a long term patient of his. Not only is he friendly but he is also very detailed when it comes to explaining results. I would highly recommend Dr La to any potential patient looking to get an appointment at this medical centre.
The two doctors need to have their knowledge updated. They seem to never have an answer to any questions you ask.
One of the two I saw a few times didn't want to give any repeats for prescribed medications even though no question asked when I went back for another prescription of the same pills. But every time I went, I was made to wait for at least half an hour. Sometimes no one was in there with the doctor while I was waiting. Not sure what's more important than seeing his patients.
Not long ago, I witnessed the poor receptionist girl got screamed at in front of all the patients waiting there. The fear and nervousness in her eyes made me finally pull the plug.
All the girls at reception are so lovely, helpful and welcoming.
I never have to wait long and always get treated well by the doctors
Very unprofessional and rude way of talking to staff. Making them feel low and pointing out the mistakes and suggesting nothing for the improvement just to blame and make their confidence low. Not very good experience. Negative energy around the work environment.
Extremely rude & sarcastic doctor. Was totally unhelpful & dismissive of my medical problems.
I was shocked @ his total arrogance.
The doctors here literally do not care about you. They are the most impatient doctors I have ever met. Don’t waste your time.
We started going to this practice after our previous GP moved away and have found the service very good. The doctors are friendly and happy to explain things. I'm returning to edit this review after 5 years and upgrade it to 5 stars from 4 because, annoying things like wait times and mix ups happen at most practices, and you never know if you gel with a doctor on a personal level, but these guys are amongst the most thorough medical professionals I know in the area.
They have a blood collection service operating between 9am and 12pm Monday and Saturday. We arrived 11.40am. They made us wait until 12.00pm and then said sorry it’s 12.00pm come back another day. There was no one else waiting! We asked if they could spare 5 minutes having spared them an hour of our day driving and waiting. They said no. We asked if we can make an appointment they said no just come in earlier. What a waste of time for me and my wife who was recently in ICU! Thanks for nothing - we promise we will not be back. We promise to advise the referring doctor accordingly.
So far so good. I have seen both Doctors and both have provided good advice and services to both myself and my children. The doctors are not in after 1pm some days due to doing home visits which I thought was really good considering all the Covid hype, it provides a in-home service possibly for our elderly and community that can not come to the practice themselves. Very fitting. I like this practice for the fact its nice, small and you can make an appointment which is alot more personal and not just a number.
Very handy locations but very poor service. The receptionist is away from their desk having breaks and you need to call their number to get somebody to come out to see you. Also worth noting they claim to be open in the afternoon but there is no doctor available from 1pm-5pm. Suggest you call ahead before coming to this practice to make sure doctor is there rather than making the trip. There is another medical centre across the road at the Strand if you have no luck seeing a doctor at this practice.
I think the bold doctor is just there to earn money, he doesn’t care about his patients, he is the only doctor I met who lacks medical ethics! We went to see him as my husband cut his finger, he was bleeding and in pain, and you know what the bold doctor said? “It’s very messy I can’t deal with it. Go to someone else”
What? You are joking right first I thought.you are a doctor we came to you for a reason and yet he gave us cold shoulder and simply avoided treating his patient, he did not put the patient first but himself and his money. He shouldn’t even be accepting the consulting fee that day as he did nothing but avoidance and negligence. Very disappointing to see such doctor actually exists. He is unfit to be a doctor. No heart. No patience. Just money
I see Dr Hung La and he is great. He is the older of the two Doctors who are brothers and I feel he provides great care and expertise. He is caring and thorough and I will continue to see him.
It is great that you can do a blood test here on certain days of the week too.
