Coolangatta Estate reviews
85Great cellar door experience and dinner, Liam did our wine tasting and was so knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend a visit!
Coolangatta Estate is a very charming place to stay, visit and enjoy. An old world look with modern facilities.
Delicious wines, tired all 3 reds and the verdelho on a tasting paddle.
Mitchell who served us was fantastic, could have asked him to sit and have a glass with us.
Definitely going back
My friends and I had such a lovely time at our tasting with Liam! He took amazing care of us and had great knowledge of the wine. It was also great to get extra background on the family history and beautiful location.
Thanks Liam and Coolangatta Estate!
Had one of the best wine tasting experiences we have ever had, and I can tell you we have had a few. Marie was obviously passionate about her wines and her experience and knowledge shone through. Great range of wines not all to our taste but a few that hit the spot very nicely and walked away very pleased with our purchase.
My boyfriend and I had a beautiful weekend here! Coolangatta Estate is charming and picturesque- it’s set between rolling hills and a lake, with vineyards scattered across the property. The Convict Cottage was comfy and whimsical, and fully air-conditioned thus perfect for the summertime. I would highly recommend a wine tasting at the Cellar Door- Maree made sure our time here was fantastic. The Estate offers a variety of wines, butters, chutneys, and other delicious goods. Thank you to all the staff; we’ll be sure to return!
We stopped by this hidden gem of a vineyard, and OMG!
What an amazing experience, from the casual wine tasting in the cellar, an impromptu wine appreciation lesson and a deep dive into the world of wine and sparkling wine.
The guys were phenomenal, made us feel so comfortable, and listened to us. They did NOT try to push any product onto us to purchase, although we did but the most expensive red (me think).
We had stopped by another vineyard called Two Figs, the Irish gentleman was polite, he was questioning whether we had a reservation for a wine tasing, he advised us of the prices $15 and $25 (we didn't mind paying). It was ultimately suggested that we come back another time when it wasn't so busy. Nah, all good mate.
Coolangatta’a Tannut 2016 was touted as a great drop. However it is undrinkable. Worst flavour. Important that you taste test all wines. Do NOT take their word for it.
Very lovely stay. Rooms were an amazing state and we also did wine tasting which was spectacular. I recommend this place for all families and friends.
I will start this review by saying the staff were lovely and the location beautiful, me and my partner had a fun time here. But now that’s out of the way here are some facts: it’s got big MOTEL energy, every piece of paper is laminated and the steaks we order felt like they’d been finished off in the microwave. You get what you pay for.
Stayed last weekend and it is so cosy and beds are so comfortable.
We will be going back to stay for sure.
Thanks Coolangatta Estate
Called in for a tasting and Maree guided us through the wines AND history of the region which was fascinating. Delicious wines, highly recommended.
We booked a family birthday here to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. In the past I had come
here and been taken away with the wine, service and quality of food. Every year I buy my parents a gift card
to stay and dine here
because of our previous experiences. This time
however I intended on making a memorial experience with my family who had traveled from across
the state to find that the food was no better than something produced in a average joes kitchen. No quality, no service and the place was empty! I can see why!
Will not be returning her again, very sad to see a
south coast treasure becoming something so disappointing. RIP, will always remember how special you once were!
Stayed one night and booked the wine and walk package and had a wonderful time. Bruno was a phenomenal guide, he gave us the fascinating background to the estate and its importance in NSW/Australia. Then we got to try wines with a grazing board all was delicious and indulgent. Bruno also allowed us to try other wines. I can't stress how enough how great the service was. Brilliant!
I was fortunate enough to stay at this Venue during the Christmas period of 2022. I found there to be friendly staff, nice, clean and tidy self contained Rooms at a reasonable price.
We had a great week at the winery the Estate Manger Nat Bishop was days away from having her baby that will make the 4th generation of family on the Coolengatta Estate. The staff were great nothing was a problem good old fashion caring about the clients. It not brand new and flashy however very comfortable worth a weekend away.

Exceptional winemaker. I am rating wine and wine tasting/cellar door experience. I can’t comment on accommodation or the restaurant- haven’t tried. The wine is amazing, especially Semillon and red varieties - Tannat and Chambourcin. You can get here many different vintages of Semillon ranging from 2005 to 2021. I had the pleasure to look at the 2021 and 2014 vintage and enjoyed them thoroughly. The cellar door has nice ambience, friendly staff, you can get cheese and crackers or other bibles with your tasting for a fair price. Tasting fee is $10pp which is fair given the quality of the wine and range of samples. I can highly recommend this winery and I have visited a lot of wineries across all NSW wine regions.
Great wines, all made on site from their own grapes, and stories about Coolangatta name/history and Mr Wollstonecraft himself. Excellent service too!
We had lunch here as part of a winery tour and the staff here were so warm and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Mitchell recommended fantastic wines and was very knowledgeable and engaging. The food was amazing as well. I highly recommend a visit, and I hope to come back again one day soon!
Just had the best wine testing experience thanks to Mitchell who share with us his knowledge about the wines but also the history of the place. Came here with European friends and we all spend a great moment here thanks to him! Would definitely recommend.
