Friendly, competent service. They provided us with quality information on what would best suit our needs and worked around our requirements. They backed this it up with a prompted quote and carried out the installation shortly after. Installation was professionally handled, tradies showed a lot of pride in their work and left the area clean.

I recommended Cool-a-bah to my mother and I deeply regret doing so. She had an old split system that had been installed incorrectly and had always leaked due to a blocked drain. First my mother had cool-a-bah try and unblock the drain while they were there to clean another unit. They were unable to do so and provided my mother with a written report stating they were unable to unblock the drain. My mother asked me to get them back to get a quote to replace the unit about four months later. While they were there she stressed to them that the drain was blocked and that they themselves had recently failed to clear the drain. However they said she was wrong and the water coming out of the head unit was caused by the head unit having been installed on a slight angle. My mother is 70 years old and she accepted their quote. When they installed the unit she again pointed out that she believed the drain was in fact blocked but they assured her she was wrong and the unit would work properly when it was installed. The first time the unit was used it streamed water out of the head unit onto the floor. Upon inspection Cool-a-bah said the drain was blocked and there was no way they could have possibly known about the issue. I believe in modern parlance this is called "gaslighting". So if you want the sort of company that gaslights 70 year old women and takes no responsibility for their failings then Cool-a-bah is the right fit for you.
Your response is ignoring several basic facts.
1. You did not need X-Ray vision as you had been told about the problem repeatedly and had tried and failed to clear the drain yourselves. Not 25 years ago but 4 months earlier.
2. The whole reason you were contracted was to fix that issue which you completely failed to do despite repeatedly assuring my mother that you knew what you were doing and that she was wrong. In fact you specifically gave a verbal guarantee that the new unit would not leak like the old one did. "You" being the installer.
3. You are now suggesting solutions that come with considerable extra expense as well as other potential issues. Had you quoted for the job correctly which you should have been able to do armed with both your own very recent report and my mother's constant insistence that the drain was irreparably blocked, my mother would have been in a better position to decide whether or not she wanted to go ahead with the job that was actually required.
4. Your claim that this is not your fault is simply not true.

The downstairs area of our business can be uncomfortably hot during the summer months so Bill suggested we use some portable misting fans during the day when the bar and catering area was busy. A short time later the team dropped them off and we used for the duration of the Tweed's hot and humid weather season and they worked very well. I would definitely recommend Cool-A-Bah for any heating or cooling issues and will indeed use them again in the future.
