7Lovely place to stop for picnic lunch with tables and chairs in the shade. Lovely clean toilets in the information centre. A nice walk along the riverfront to see the windmills.
The new memorial Centre was opened in October 2022 after its rebuild was delayed by COVID. The Coo-Ee March gallery is complete and worth spending some time. Further galleries introducing the local indigenous groups are planned.
Good rest stop option along the Newell Highway. Some shady trees, covered picnic tables and benches and toilet facilities associated with the historical society building. Off highway carparking available with plenty of room. Plus an unusual Captain Cook built artifact.
Great exhibit explaining the Cooee March. Please allow plenty of time to explore all the displays
Nice picnic for the rest when you travel in the area, and unexpectedly great visitors centre.
Just inspiring. Spent two hours here. Best Information office this side of the "Back of Bourke ". Must go. Australian History. Brilliant.
Place looked very interesting only wish i had the time to spend there as was rushed to get from A to B
