Convoy Commune reviews
28Absolutely beautiful coffee. I usually order plant base milk and it is always smooth, rich and creamy. Staff members are always super friendly and attentive. Affordable prices too.
I absolutely love the bliss balls. In case you're GF, all but the cookie one is GF. They are yum. The toasties are also pretty amazing! They once had a persian rice mix that I tried and it was great!
Just had the best banana smoothie of my life.if you're in the Newcastle area and love awesome coffee and great food and smoothies, you need to check this place out. 5 stars
Had a lovely quiet brekky and got my morning business done needed power and it was conveniently available Friendly staff Chill vibe and ambience
Nice cafe on the corner of Caldwell and Mitchell St, with tasty toasties and delicious coffee ️
Excellent cafe with quality coffee, friendly service and sustainable ethos. Very impressed to see they use a sustainable milk source along with proper compostable packaging.

In my opinion, it's the best coffee in Newcastle. Also highly recommend their snickers bliss balls. My wife and I are hooked.
Lovely coastal decor and great service. Iced latte was perfect and so were eggs on toast which were cooked to my liking and perfectly hard fried which is rare in my experience when asked for.
Excellent coffee, menu has all the classics and some interesting wildcard options. Delicious and priced well. Will be back
The ham, cheese and avo croissant… delicious. Coffee was excellent. Such a cute little courtyard too. Thoroughly enjoyed!
Somethings changed - coffee very weak across 2 different coffees - you now need to order strong to get coffee taste
Delicious food! Good balance of flavours without being too sweet or salty. Did find the coffee quite weak though. Venue is quaint so you may have to pull up a stool outside if you can't get a table inside. Would go back though!
Hands down the best coffee in town! More than a cafe, such warm community vibes. Can’t go past the Açai bowls or eggs benedict!
Smoothies were yum, would’ve liked to try their sit-in menu but unfortunately only had takeaway available - doesn’t say that anywhere on their page so only found out when we got there. Luckily the bae muffin and mixed berry muffin were both delish! Staff were friendly.
Not right on the beach but worth the short walk west for a 5 star coffee with great friendly staff.
We were up in Newcastle, specially Merewether for the weekend to check out the WSL surf comp. We were recommended to try out Convoy Commune for a coffee and took a short walk from our hotel and found this not far from the beach.
In the beachside suburb, the decor fits perfectly with its beachy vibes and byron bay esque aesthetic. With its bright interior, natural timber finishes, rattan pendant lights and rattan mirror. I loved the look and was surprised to hear that the cafe is currently undergoing renovations as it looked pretty schmick already. Will be interesting to see what they do design wise.
The cafe also had a retail space stocking the Huskee Cup, Good X Karma products as well as MAYDE tea and True Protein powders. You can grab any of this to go for yourselves or a gift.
We were there for a coffee, which they make with Convoy Commune’s own signature blend using a blend of specialty beans from Brazil, Costa Rica and Ethiopia. An interesting flavour of malt and chocolate. We enjoyed the coffee.
We didn’t have food on our visit but they have a range of fresh and healthy dishes including açai bowls, sandwiches, bacon and egg rolls, a rotating salad choice from the window and some mighty fine sounding smoothies.
The cafe was extraordinarily busy given the surf event in addition to the neighbourhood locals and runners, but we appreciated being informed of wait time and they did super well in getting things out promptly.
We look forward to seeing their renovations and visiting next time we’re in the area.
Nestled on a relatively quiet corner considering it's proximity to Merewether Beach. Two large glass entry doors offer ample sun light to bathe and soak the trendy modern cafe interior. Jason offers wonderful customer service and the coffee is one of the better coffees I've had in the area!
These guys are great, fantastic coffee. You could mistake the place for a model / influencer shoot. Every girl with her leopard print active wear, spends hours sipping on an almond latte after a long morning in front of the mirror.
