Coliseum Antiques reviews
30Love this place even just to visit and take you time just to get out for the day. So many interesting things and a wide variety
Could get lost in here for hours. Lots of nostalgic pieces and so many things I could have bought
Every time I visit Newcastle I make the homage to the Coliseum. Step in the door - step back in time. This atmospheric building will draw you in as you run your eyes over everything inside. Peer in to cabinets, grovel on the floor; that's what finding treasures is all about. I've certainly found them here. Next door is a recommended eatery - so - take a few hours to enjoy ALL there is on offer on this little patch of Maitland Road.
Firstly, the staff were helpful and very friendly. However the range of antiques was somewhat limited and repetitive. We also noted that most items were priced approximately 20% higher than the very high end of market value. Some stalls were clean and easy to peruse, however there were some messy stalls that were covered in a lot of dust. A lot of stalls were disorganised. There was also a few concerning smells. There was nothing of interest to our kids. But they did have clean toilets.
A lot of booths have up to 50% discounts. Other booths are more expensive than similar outlets. I did make a purchase, but I chose a non discounted item!
Big selection of items, and worth spending an hour here browsing.
Some quality items, and some cheap items. Something for everyone.
Stunning old building which is now jam packed with relics from yesteryear. There's not a lot of room to get in and around certains parts, but if you can get at them then there's plenty of things to look at and potentially purchase.
Wow what a place, make sure you have heaps of time to enjoy the experience of stepping back in time.
Great antiques store for a Saturday afternoon browse. Lots to see and their prices are reasonable.
The staff are friendly with a huge variety of goods. You need to have plenty of time to browse.
First visit to Coliseum antiques and picked up some great bargains. Has a really good selection of items available and staff were friendly and really helpful. Will definitely go back!
Well organized, reasonably priced too. Some real gems there. Although the shelves are full it isn't overcrowded like some antique stores can be. Well worth a visit.
Sensational atmosphere, intriguing high quality goods, historically significant architecture and friendly/knowledgeable customer service all rolled into one. A must visit destination for avid collectors and curious browsers alike. And just when you thought your visit couldn't get any better, you walk through a side door into "Vincents at the Coliseum" where all day breakfast and velvety coffee awaits. I will certainly be visiting again soon!
Great shop, it has some very rare and not so rare items worth a look jn but give yourself a couple of hours
Wow. What a wonderful little shop. Found an amazing array of goods and some really unusual stuff too. Fantastic shop, definitely going there again.
Great place
So much to look at, different little shops everywhere. Prices at some very reasonable. Cater for everybody, and all tastes. Collectors heaven. Great range of old wares and jewellery. Even great individual and interesting pieces of furniture. Highly recommended to anybody with a love of 2nd hand interesting goods.
Staff are great, very helpful and always seems very happy. Neat displays but some of the sections are a bit full and can be difficult to walk through easily. You can find some real bargains here.
Useless service, useless staff, don’t even bother.
It’s apparently ‘17 different stores in one’, as a customer you are expected to understand this from the one singular entrance.
Not one staff member from any stall knows what’s going on.
Everything is an inconvenience for the staff.
You think they would treat customers with some etiquette.
Waste of time. Don’t bother.
Some place's call themselves antique shops, but I must say this one is! Prices that all can afford (not overpriced) great place if you've never been there, Good
