56 If you want a business that cuts corners, doesn’t comply with Australian Standards + doesn’t have a sense of customer service, then this is the company for you.
Not only did they wire our unit to Earth wires, they did not seal our unit in the roof which has caused leaking into our newly built home. They have over extended + squished in pipping which has also caused air issues.
These guys were commissioned by Plantation Homes, gawd knows why.
When we moved in; our system wasn’t even hooked up, took a week to get them out to sort, no communication. This most recent time, we got our aircon serviced by a local company due to issues with our aircon system. We reported this back to the builder, they then rock up expected to be let in, again with no communication, would have saved them a trip considering we couldn’t let them in as the whole family was isolating.
We’ve not heard anything further from them, so I guess we will play roulette for when they decide to rock up again.
Beyond disappointed.
Cold Front always keeps our air flowing in the hot or the cold weather. Can't live without it. Thank you boys for making sure our system always works smoothly. Great job as always. George Harvey.
Arrived on time, and called before coming, James is good, hope be back to fix problem soon.
Couldn't believe how Cold Front conduct themselves and how they could up mess up a brand new install of a ducted AC in a new house build, not to mention actually test it.
Our issues started at our PCI walk through with site supervisor who couldn't get it to turn on. Discovered that it was turned off at the isolator.
We decided to test the ducted AC and to our shock, it turned it self off after 10mins and wouldn't come back on. So we contacted our builder who arranged for Cold Front to come back.
The first technician arrived and he was very professional. He discovered their was an issue with the neutral wire connection. So the builder arranged the Electrician to inspect and they confirmed that it was fine.
Cold Front sent another technician, unfortunately this one was a complete slob that looked like he was up partying all night. Before even inspecting anything, he starts slandering the electricians and calling them names. He didn't do much at all and I was annoyed at this point.
So the electricians came back and I told them what Cold Front had said and did to try rectify the issue, which was nothing. They could understand my frustrations and went further to inspect the under the cover of the outdoor unit (which none of their techs did and should have done). We discovered that only the ground wire was secured, the positive was finger tight and the neutral wire was just sitting loosely as it fell out after undoing the ground wire. We were able to sort their issues and poor workmanship.
Poor business practices, worse workmanship and pathetic attitudes from their staff. I recommend people avoid engaging this company unless you really want to go through the pain, stress and drama.
Great experience all around, the technician was on time, polite, thorough and had full knowledge of the product. This is the third time we have dealt with Cold Front and I cannot see us changing.
The serviceman was great - answered all my queries and checked all facets of the air conditioner.
Not interested in draining the over flow to a proper drainage point passing the buck to the builder. Installed zones without operational sensors and asking for extra money to provide sensors. Got a good gig going for your build clients and Didn’t want to know about the issue and could care less unless it involved paying more. Don’t recommend this company for your aircon install at all.
Dangerous road raging drivers work here. I was following one of their vehicles in the right hand lane of the motorway, whereby they were swerving all around their lane, constantly slowing down and speeding up (Probably on their phone). I and another vehicle undertook them, and when I returned to the lane in front of them, their vehicle then started to tailgate me, undertook me and started gesticulating and verbally abusing me. Not a good look with your company details plastered all over the vehicle. Won't ever use this company for our Air-Conditioning needs.
I have mixed feelings regarding Coldfront, initially their service was very good and I was happy to book them year after year for services at their recommended intervals. Price was always reasonable and competitive, until this year 2023.
Service price doubled and instead of getting a pair of experienced techs to perform the service we got maybe 30 minutes at max from a teenager who almost certainly had not passed his qualification.
After a week and quite some cleaning up around the areas he worked in (filthy hand prints on walls and access hatches) we noticed water leaking out of the wardrobe ceiling.
Got up in the roof space to find rubbish everywhere and the drain leaking from the joints.
Informed Coldfront who offered no apologies but did arrange a different technician to attend. Found out that the previous tech destroyed the seals from the drain, new tech then pumped silicone into the joint to seal it up rather than actually repair or replace the seals.
Did the job but not looking forward to the next service.
No follow up from Coldfront on repairing and water damage.
I will not be using them again.
Shame.

Cold front installed a ducted air system into my Banora Point property several years back. I noticed some movement in the roof and had a builder take a look.
The air unit was placed directly on the roof beams and not tied back to the roof to reduce weight load.
This has cost me considerable money to repair.
I have also called twice for assistance with advantage system only to never receive a call back.
Today I received an invoice via email for a different person.
Poor installation and after sales service
Cold Front as a company has been relatively great. They really work with you on availability. We also have dealt with Cold Front more than once and have had both bad and good experiences. This review is on our most recent visit from their technician (20/02/2023), looking at a leak and completing a service on a ducted-air.
The technician who came was a little argumentative and just didn't want to listen to the problem at hand. He was quite stand- offish and very unfriendly. It honestly felt it was a huge inconvenience being at our house doing the jobs. We have had this technician before and it was exactly the same.
What has happened to being nice and just general customer service? It feels because of the recent demand in trades and services, workers don't feel like they have to be kind. All in all, they got our money for appalling service. Funny thing is, he said "bye" abruptly and I had to stop him asking if he would like me to pay? Amazed my husband and I were, truly amazed.
The serviceman communicated well before the time and turned up when booked. He attended to all our queries and air con is running well.
Excellent experience. Under promised with estimated 4 week waiting times but organised and completed the work in 2. Quoted a window but Eason arrived at the start of the window with an hours notice. He was friendly and respectful of my space. Eason also explained the issues with the system, what he did to fix it, and why the previous technicians work was poor (another company). Highly recommend.
Very cowardly and won’t say it to my face. When they throw the first on be prepared to be knocked out “cold”…….
Cold Front Staff were very friendly and professional and did a great job servicing our ducted air conditioning unit. I have no hesitation in recommending Cold Front for installation, service or annual maintenance.l
Cold Front Air Condition installed a Daikin ducted air conditioning system in our new house 6 months ago. We organised this through Coral Homes.
The system has had constant issues and multiple visits from Cold Front technicians who say it's fixed then the same issue returns. Each time the issue comes back, the system completely stops working and they say they can't get someone to look at it for around 2 weeks. Finally the Cold Front staff discovered multiple cracks in the interior coil and said they would order the part. Another 2 weeks later, I am yet again calling for updates. First they said it was ordered, now they are saying that it's not available from the supplier. It's hard to tell if when they said the part was ordered that this was just a lie or just poor communication internally.
In any case, we're sitting in 30 degree, humid heat trying to work from home, having guests over who are dripping with sweat. It's incredibly disappointing for a $15,000 system that we paid for over 6 months ago.
I would strongly caution having anything to do with Cold Front as they have not demonstrated either competence in the technical team nor anything resembling customer support.
Cold Front Staff are very professional in all the work they do. They turn up when they are booked for or give you a call if held up on a prior job. I have no hesitation in recommending Cold Front for installation, service or annual maintenance. Always friendly and helpful.
The product was of exceptional value and the service was oustanding.
They actually considered where to put all ducts and outlets and installed them neat and logically. Unlike some I've seen which are just placed "wherever".
Couldn't recommend Cold Front and their installers enough.
