Coalcliff Rock Pools

This rock pool is secluded, almost hidden from the standard tourist trail.
Easy to get to with a playground and modern bathroom facilities.
Locals have a gem hidden here.

The views are stunning, there's shower and change rooms, rockpool needs some cleaning though (would have been 5 stars) but nice.only thing is its roadside parking, so if you're visiting, come early.

Great place for a few laps. It just happened that the pool was cleaned the day before I went, one extra star!

Such a beautiful beach and rock pool area. It's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Very good playground just above the pool. And there are state of the art toilets here as well. When I visited there were two separate couples taking posed shots for Instagram maybe? Just saw an article about this newish facial recognition company who are pulling ALL public photos of people from everyone on social media. I generally accept there is a loss of privacy rights if you choose to put your face all over social media but even I think this technology is going too face. The example I saw of facial matching was like something of of James' Bond! It's called Clearview.

This is a lovely place to go to with the family. Playground for the kids and electronic amenities (toilet, disabled toilet and a change room). There are shaded areas and a two minute walk the the beach, right next to the pool. Just make sure to put on sunscreen because I got badly burnt when I went there. You should go and see for yourself, you won’t regret it!

Walk through Leeder Park, past a small playground and amenities block to find the equally small but spectacularly located Coalcliff rockpool.

Just after WWI, legend has it, a group of local coalminers smuggled out enough dynamite from work to create this wonderful community resource and many continue to enjoy it a century later.

The waves pounding the surrounding rocks makes it wild and atmospheric, as does watching the surfers riding them from a parallel perspective. The views of the towering escarpment are magnificent, there’s outdoor showers, and although it is a bit small and shallow (at about 1.5 metres) it was, on balance, well worth a visit.

Near the bus stop. Also have road side parking. Toilets and shower is available. A small playground for kids is extra benefit. Good spot for fishing.

Great pool, the whole area has some beautiful rocks and cliffs. Feels secluded. Beach sand is not quite as nice and fine but worth the trip before heading onto Sea Cliff Bridge. Parking is a pain though so just be aware of that.

Absolutely beautiful place. Definitely a must see on the bucket list if you're anywhere near Sydney.

One of my favourite ocean pools. Gets cleaned every week or two, showers and toilets available, nice location next to patrolled beach. Only issue is the lack of parking on busy days.

Visited this place after going to look at the sea cliff bridge and was a great place to visit. We didn’t swim as it was too cold but I looked like a great pool for swimming. We went during low tide and got done good photography shots. Totally recommend this place. Parking was easy and there is a kids park near by as well if you have kids

Really nice quiet Rockpool, which seemed much cleaner then some of the others we passed. It is situated right beside a patrolled beach which was also convenient. A lovely view with the towering cliffs in the background.

Spectacular location with super impressive vista. Council have built state of the art toilet facilities. A children's play area has also been set up in Leeder Park. Serviced by a bus route this site lacks parking as fishermen also use this location to access the nearby rock platform. The 25 metre rock pool has a children's pool and is topped up daily on high tide. The only downside is that it should be cleaned more often but that is probably a council budgetary situation. Mind you being flushed daily would keep it sanitary it's just the greenery that is a little off putting

Not a very good beach, people are staring at you and rock pool isn't clean. I reckon i won't visit it again.

Good. A bit stressful if you bring kids due to the water puddles between the rocks. They're slippery. Not much shade. More ideal for small families
