Closeburn House

Quiet and beautiful spot. Lots of lookouts and walks close by.
Rooms are great, I loved that there was a bath. The gardens are beautiful, flowers everywhere and old pine trees.
Breakfast was delicious, thank you very much.

From the moment we stepped through the door we felt relaxed and at home. Steve and Paul (hosts and owners) were welcoming and after the easy check in, took us to our magnificent and cosy room. The house and grounds are beautiful and settling into the comfortable lounge area downstairs with a glass of wine from the well stocked bar set the tone for our stay. Closeburn house is close enough to Katoomba and Blackheath to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The 2 course included breakfast was sensational and a great way to start the day. Would we stay again? YES. In a heartbeat. Can’t wait to stay there again. Thanks guys for an amazing experience. So much more than the best breakfast in the Mountains! Beautifully renovated guesthouse in the perfect location to explore the sometimes forgotten western end of the mountains. A big thanks to Paul and Steve for your hospitality, it ticked all the boxes!

The place itself is absolutely beautiful but the owners made it one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!

They took the time to get to know us personally and we’re so kind and caring. Our car broke down and when they noticed our car wasn’t in their lot they came to check on us at breakfast the next day to make sure we were ok.

We also fell in love with their gorgeous little dog who came to greet us on our way out!

What a wonderful experience we had staying at Closeburn House. Warm and friendly service, stunning location, first rate amenities, and a perfect atmosphere for a couples get away from the pressures of life in the city. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely delightful stay here. The interior of the house and rooms are tastefully designed and spotlessly clean.

Paul was very warm and hospitable, and was very kind to let us check in early. Breakfast was home made with fresh ingredients, and we got to meet Ted the lovely dog as well.
Couldn’t recommend this enough, we’ll definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

We came across this place while looking for somewhere to stay for a night when heading up to Nelson bay. Having grown up near Closeburn village in Scotland, I was intrigued by the connection of the house to the village. Boy are we glad we decided to stay! The owners Paul and Steve are the perfect hosts who will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay! The facilities are excellent, very tidy and spacious rooms considering the age of the house, very tastefully decorated to give a modern feel while being respectful of the history of the building. This is the perfect place to go if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in beautiful surroundings. Well done Paul and Steve, we will definitely be back!

Very rarely does anyone get it this right. Paul & Steven, the properties/hosts of Closeburn House have literally created a dream come true. Emaculate in its setting, heritage, decoy and gardens, Closeburn is transcendent in its calm welcoming warmth. Attention to every single detail of your stay is catered for and the breakfast menu alone is worth the price of accommodation. My wife and I highly recommend Closeburn House and know when your visit comes to an end you will be instantly dreaming about your return. Closeburn House was a beautiful, well cared for place to stay. The hospitality of Paul and Steve was amazing. Best breakfast ever! Was is awe of how beautiful the place was.

My partner and I stayed at Closeburn House for a running race, and Paul & Steve made the weekend incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The bed was blissful, the common areas and gardens were immaculate, and the service was thoughtful and friendly.
I can't recommend Closeburn House highly enough for a getaway to the Blue Mountains, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas, but still with easy access to everything you need.

If you are travelling through or adventuring within the Blue Mountains, you need to stay at Closeburn House for at least two reasons i.e. Paul and Steven.
Not once did i feel in the wrong place, i was welcomed from the moment i arrived late afternoon, to the moment i regretfully checked out. Both gentlemen were exceptionally personable, started conversations with all guests and connected people within the household. They are genuinely sincere with how they behave around people, that being they are being their true self. They have a deep rooted passion to please their guests and provide a home-like vibe to the Closeburn House.

I was visiting for the UTA, they understood what i was doing and they even went above and beyond to ensure i was cared for. The bath salts worked a treat for my recovery, thank you.

Now the house. It is a stunning building with an everpresent and comforting scent indoors. Whilst i didn't explore the gardens enough, the view through the windows was wonderful, for which Paul and Steve with the advice of a mentor, maintain the grounds themselves. The dining room is nicely presented, and the sitting rooms are very comforting and relaxing. Many other charming details were present, but this review doesn't need to embelish anymore.

If you are travelling to the region and not staying at Paul and Stevens Closeburn House, you must have a very good reason not to.

Paul and Steven, i know you'll be reading this review, because you take pride in caring for your guests/friends. I am grateful for your welcoming and trust me on this, i will be back.

A beautiful place to stay in Mount Victoria. Paul and Steve are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable, relaxing, and memorable stay.
