This tax accountant failed to handle my tax properly and I ended up having to pay more than necessary. This was discovered after I visited another tax accountant who detected the issue the year after.

No showed yesterday's scheduled call, for which I arranged my schedule around. Not wowed on the reliability/legitimacy front.

I had 2 tax returns to complete and City Tax made the process very easy for me to lodge them in a quick and timely manner. I had my appointment over the phone and Elina guided me through the process in a way that I could understand, for someone who is new and not familiar with the Australian tax return system. I would definitely recommend to anyone to use their services.

Incompetent and Unprofessional! If I could give zero stars I would. Don't fall into the trap and believe the 5 star reviews, we did and now we are paying the price! Elina simply wants your money! Once the ATO contacts you about a tax return that she submitted, she does not respond to calls and emails. My email was sent 9 days ago! Once you pay her she doesn't care. My wife and I submitted a very standard tax return with Elina, her incompetence caused us problems and payments to the ATO. Avoid at all costs! ZERO STARS! Don't take the risk!

Highly recommend this service! Not only were they friendly and kind they also take the time to guide each client through their tax return. Elina really seeks to make her clients feel comfortable and happy through the process! Definitely going to remain a loyal client in the future.

I made an online appointment, that I cancelled after the City tax consultant was 50minutes late, due to having other commitment that day.
If that was not inconvenient enough, I'd rescheduled for another day and on the day of that appointment I called the desk after 40minutes again wondering what was happening, they advised they would get in touch with my consultant to get a timeframe, after that neither the phone desk or my consultant called me anytime that day.or anytime after. I was purely forgotten.for the second time in a week.

Needless to say I've found someone else to do my taxes. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH City Tax Consultants!

I have made an office appointment through their website. I was surprised when I have arrived at the office, there was nobody there! Apparently, they are only doing phone appointments during this lockdown. I believe that at least someone should have called and gave me an update. I was still getting reminders by SMS and email that I must not forget about my office appointment. I think I dodged a bullet after I went home and read the reviews carefully.

Convenient location in the CBD, quick and painless tax filing. Will be filing through City Tax again next year.

I've used Elina a few times in the past, and although she's rude, she seemed to know what she's doing. This year, I hired her to do my taxes and my fiancees taxes, for an over the phone appointment. She took my money, but did not complete my fiancee's taxes, and won't respond to emails or phone calls.

Update - I see Elina replied and said she was waiting for us to get her information. This is a lie. She had everything she needed for weeks, and ignored our calls and emails. She finally did what we had paid her to do, but not until we set up a second meeting. It was ridiculously unprofessional behaviour, and insulting - especially considering I sent at least 5-6 other people to her.

I made an appointment recently and wanted to find out more about who I would be speaking to as I'd had a lovely accountant previously who'd retired and wanted to find someone equally as professional. I called once and the phone rang out, I called again and the receptionist told me I would be called back. After not being called back I followed up with an email as I did not want to leave anyone in the lurch and my appointment was quickly approaching.
After not hearing back from the email I called again and was treated in a condescending manner. I asked what the accountants name was as this was for some reason not listed in the appointment and was told "Elina". I asked what her last name was as I wanted to check if she was a CA or CPA as is reasonable and recommended, and was effectively told that I wouldn't be given this very basic information. I then asked for my appointment to be cancelled and again, this was not actioned. I'm not sure what inspired such an unresponsive and cagey response, but regardless, it was an unnecessarily poor customer experience.

Elina was great - super professional, concise, and really helped me understand the process along the way. I've never had much hope for finding "my agent" but I have now. Huge thank you Elina!
