City Recital Hall

Great venue is spoiled by inclusion of piped music before and after performances and during intervals. Some friends refuse to attend Angel Place venue because of crass use of recorded music in the foyers. Venue's actions are unfair to users such as Pinchgut as some people who love these operas refuse to attend Angel Place because of the piped music.

Great venue and have enjoyed every visit so far this year. Staff are friendly, seats have enough leg room, water is provided. The only negative thing I can say is probably just the smell of the ladies bathroom upstairs.on first visit I thought it couldve been one off, but after multiple visits on different occasions I think it definitely needs a big clean out as there is a foul smell near the handwash basin areas. So I try to use the lower floor bathroom or not go at all if I can.

Otherwise, hall is great for the purpose that it is for!

Have seen some wonderful performances here. Pretty good leg room in the stalls. Great sound. Convenient to get to

Saw Theo Parrish here for a late night DJ gig. Staff we’re awesome but out of their element considering the crowd. I don’t think there was a need to have Nanna’s finger sandwiches going stale. Management need to think through the differing needs of different crowds. Saying that the sound system and acoustics were brilliant. Looking forward to more late night gigs!

Fabulous live music venue in the heart of Central Sydney only a few hundred metres from Wynyard Station. The Dan Sultan show on 13/10/23 was one of the best front of house sounds for a live band I have ever experienced. Extraordinarily polished performance with superb sound to match. I always rated the State Theatre as Sydney's best venue but it now has some competition

I saw the opera Medee. It was fantastic. Acoustics of the hall sounded great to me. (though I'm not an expert on acoustics).
The seats were well spaced.

Beautiful hall with great reverb which produces a beautiful sound. The ACO had a great performance as well. Highly recommend going there at least once.

Great venue for beautiful accoustics for a concert.plenty of paid parking close by and a few restaurants within 1 min walk

Very good venue for a small size orchestra concert, we really enjoyed ABO’s performance of pieces composed by Quite a few very talented Bachs.

A wonderful performance space in the heart of the city, giving ethereal experiences inside a hidden tower of music and art.

I just love going to this wonderful venue to hear music by groups such as the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra & Pinchgut Opera. It is so convenient & much more intimate than the Opera House.

Wonderful production by The Song Co. Part of their Higher Ground 2022 season. Brahms- Ein Deutsch Requiem. Look forward to enjoying their next performance.

Some of the best acoustics in a performance Hall in Sydney. Even in the side boxes music is crystal clear, although views can be obstructed. Easy to get to, and a good selection of wines and beers for the intermissions.

Superb performance of Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Circo really delighted. Recital Hall is a special place in Sydney.

For a wonderful venue the food and drinks options are appalling. Stale flavourless sandwiches @$13.00 for 4 finger sandwiches, way over priced, not once but twice. Only two hot drink options, plunger coffee or a cup of tea. For a high prestige venue in the middle of Sydney well it’s just not good enough. Eat somewhere else or best bring your own sandwiches I’m sure they’ll be 100% better. I wouldn’t even give it one star. Shocking.

Love to come here for a show, parking directly under the building, reasonable rates, we had the cheap seats, right up the back, so as you can see by the pics we stll had amazing views
