The kids loved it and it was delicious.

It was a dark, rainy night. My tummy was grumbly so loud I had to satisfy it. I stumbled into this establishment and the glizzy aroma from the glizzy tub filled my nostrils. My pupils grew to the size of tennis balls and the hairs on my bare toes stood straight. I filled my tub with 38 glizzies and sat with a view of the rain outside. It was perfect.

The veggies look fresh, but seafoods were not. Love that they have many options!
Chef’s chilli - original is the best

Had a lovely experience here today for lunch with my partner. I love malatang and i always appreciate a good selection of ingredients to add to your bowl. I got the Japanese curry soup, it was absolutely scrumptious! Adding garlic sauce to it really gave it that extra deliciousness. I’m still thinking about the flavours hours after which is what prompted me to write this review. Great place! Definitely recommend getting a taro milk tea as a side drink as they’re so good and so cheap! $5 for a taro milk tea is an absolute bargain in this economy. Will be returning here soon.

All the veggies are fresh but the scallops tasted stale. Service was good and fast. Plenty of seating when we came at 6pm on a Friday night. There was a small piece of hard plastic in my soup. Lucky I didn't gulp my food too quickly. Other than that, everything was clean.

First time going there, never had it before, absolutely loved it. The bone broth was the best. Definitely go again

I love their malatang. There’s a lot of meat and veg options to select with the reasonable price.

After coming here many times, I still love it. Great assortment of fresh seafood, meat and vegetables. I recommend the Chef’s Chilli soup for the Malatang here (which I promise, sounds more chilli than it really is).

That's too much. I told the counter that rice was not what I ordered. Forget it. There is still a handling fee. I paid the last handling fee. It's not a question of who pays the lower price. I'm not sorry. You can open Malatang so casually. I don't know how to open a store with no standard.turn a deaf ear to what others say

All in all, perfect.
The choices of the veg, seafood, meat, and noodles were so wide I had hard time choosing.
I did a takeaway, and the portion was hugeee. I admit, I did take in a lot.
I took chef's chilly soup and loved it. It's not spicy at all, but it had great depth. I also added extra chilly in the broth to give a little kick.
The cashier lady and the lady helping me choose the sauce were amazingly kind.
Will be back for sure!

Excellent quality, price and quick service. Huge variety of ingredients to choose from including vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles and soup base. The laksa curry soup was delicious and had good depth of flavour. Pay by weight $22 per 500g. My bowl cost $16.80 and I chose about 15 different items and was very filling. Ingredients were refilled regularly. Food was cooked quickly and well - not overcooked. Seating area was clean and had nice decor. Free topping of coriander, spring onion, garlic, sesame paste

This self serve noodle bar is so delicious! Me and my friends come down here all the way from Gosford just to eat here. The food is cheap but good quality and it is made with love! Favourite noodle bar in Sydney

Overall it is worth experiencing, however malangtang is not spicy, it is suitable for those who do not like spicy food, hopefully it will improve the spiciness like when eating at other malangtang stores, the service staff is very cute, will come back next time.

I have come here a few times, and I really love it. The 'buffet' ingredients have such a wide variety to choose from, and the broths they offer are really delicious. I think the pay by weight system is really good too. Only issue is that there is a fair bit of cross-contamination just due to the nature of picking your own ingredients with the same tongs. While I don't mind much because it gets cooked up, if you have any allergies, its may be best to look elsewhere for a feed. Relatively quick service, but a small dining room, so best to go before peak times to make sure you're not waiting for a table.

The food is fresh, the service is good, and it's clean. The best restaurant in Sydney. Worth recommending

From the vegetable to mean till the choice of mix you want.

Great options and choices of vegetables, meats and noodles. The soups also offer great flavour and don't need too much topping up. Some tight seating. Few steps required to enter and def not pram frielndly

Great, large selection of fresh ingredients! Best Malatang in Sydney in my opinion. I like the dry spicy mix and also the stir-fry option because with the minimum of 400g a soup would be too much volume for me. Stir-fry can be fairly oily but also flavoursome.
Many vegetarian ingredient options. I love selecting all my favourites for a good mix of crunch and other textures. Very friendly staff and clean restaurant.

Malatang shop in Chinatown. Good choice of soup, price by weight, fast service. You can ask staff to add leeks, corianders, sauces when you pick up your soup. Good deal to get to choose lots veggies/seafoods/meat as much as you wanna eat. They serve unique taste such as laksa and japanese curry.
