Chubby Cheeks reviews
54Had dinner here last night with my friend. Absolutely stunning restaurant in Paddington. Great food and exceptional service.
This place is absolutely amazing! I had the pork bao, chicken satay, and drunken noodles. The chicken satay was divine! Dari made the most amazing Lychee caprioska and raspberry sour:)
The staff are suuuper friendly, shoutout to Dari and Wency: D
A must try if in Sydney!
We had dinner with my friend and all i could say that the food, ambiance and service was all excellent. The best modern thai restaurant i had for a long time.
We really liked the food, but the person who served us was not. He didn't care when we tried to call them multiple times and he didn’t even care about us. We think it's important for the staff to be helpful and friendly. We hope you can address this issue so that other customers have a better experience.
An absolute standout with the reputation that precedes it. Awesome food every single time we go
Yum! We had the Beetle Leaf Scallops, Drunken Noodles, Pork Belly, Chicken Satay, Beef Brisket and every dish was delicious. Thoroughly recommend
Everything was so heavenly! From the scrumptious food (compliments to all the chefs) not to mention the serving size, it was pretty generous for its prices to the attentive and very accomodating staffs who made our dinner more amazing. I also want to commend the manager Claudy and Darianne, you guys were astounding! Thank you for recommending us our new favourites! We will surely come back here! Highly recommended restaurant in Paddington.
Great experience overall! Food’s delicious and the service is amazing! We will definitely gonna come back here and I can’t wait to come back!
Such a lovely atmosphere and great food! Portions on the smaller side, and service wasn’t too quick. They were very accommodating with the gang options
Had the scallops, beetroot dumplings, brisket and cauliflower curry. Every dish tasted great and had lovely presentation. The brisket was very tender but could do with more flavour than just the smoke.
Decor and music was also very lovely.
Food and ambience is good here however we always feel rushed and constantly reminded what time we need to vacate the table for the next seating. Not very nice if you just want a relaxed evening.
Amazing restaurant. The waiters were so polite, the food was perfect and the mocktails were lovely. 10/10, would totally recomend and go back!
Great value local and fabulous Thai - does not make you feel sick afterwards.great ingredients!
Hidden gem! I didn't know what to expect as this place was not booked out on Friday night. I was blown away! Their food is SUCH GOOD VALUE. One of the best set menus we've ever had! We were so full after. (We added a fried ice cream dessert on top of out set menu and it was worth it hehe). The ambience was the same as a place that would charge at least $100 for a set menu. Actually it may be better - they had sound insulation so the voices from other customers all talking at the same time weren't deafening and I could talk with an inside voice and be heard. Food came out super quick as well. This is a must go if you like Thai / modern Asian food. Probably the best pork belly boa I've ever had as well - the cut of pork was cooked to perfect and such a big slice!
Amazing, beautifully prepared, beautifully presented, so delicious. Fine dining quality at such low prices. Possibly the best pork bao in Sydney? Went on Saturday after a busy trip to Paddo Market and we had the set lunch menu. So relaxed, not crowded, none of this 'timed sittings where we need the table back in 90 minutes'. Gastronomic equivalent of a beautiful yoga/massage session! Every dish was delicious, fresh, light, bursting with flavour. (Be careful choosing the wine, the reisling was not great). Staff were very friendly and polite, service was great (haven't been when it's busy). Will definitely be going back to Chubby Cheeks.
The food at Chubby Cheeks is absolutely exquisite. Every single dish is fresh, fragrant and bursting with flavour- it’s impossible to choose a favourite! The wonton crackers are crisp and light-as-feathers; the brisket in the drunken noodles melts in your mouth and the noodles themselves are saturated with flavour, and the pad mhee is quite simply a revelation. Even the sides are divine- don’t overlook the water spinach; it’s delicious.
The decor is industral and the lighting is just right. It’s an unexpectedly buzzing hub in an otherwise-overlooked section of Oxford Street. Good crowd; good vibes.
In short, Chubby Cheeks is not to be missed. Do yourself a favour and get there ASAP!
Pop pop boom, that’s the sound of the flavours exploding in your mouth when you eat here. The dumplings were probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Every dish outclassed the previous dish, the satay was amazing.
Did enjoy the experience. Restaurant decor is industrial chic with accompanying hard surfaces and acoustic issues as the restaurant gets busy.
Service is very good, unobtrusive and polite. Small menu which is enticing and appropriate for the size of the kitchen.
Entrees were excellent. Pork bao was a textural delight, well executed and delicious. So too were the betel leaves with scallops and peanut.
Mains were not quite as good as the entrees. Pork in the pork belly dish was nicely cooked, however I didn’t like the eggplant relish that was served with this dish. It was smoky but exceedingly bland.
Duck salad also tasted under seasoned and just didn’t quite work. Nice experience nonetheless and will come back soon
Nicely looking place serving tasty and beautifully presented food with very reasonable price tag
Unique and yummy dishes and smooth service. You should definitely try the sweet potato dumblings. $$ but valuable for food and service.
