Charlestown Dental Centre

I am shocked to see other peoples reviews! I Don’t know what everyone else is talking about. I had the best experience at Charlestown Dental Centre. Dr Neil and his assistant are all wonderful, super friendly and actually care. The receptionist is great, loves a chat and easy to get along with. It’s a small team from what I can tell but I love going to this dental centre!

I never write reviews. But here I am.
I have had 4-5 visits to CDC after being recommended by an othrodondist.
The most frustrating thing is the phone is almost never answered. 2 rings, then a message and you are left playing phone tag because you can't answer when they call you back because you are working or driving etc.
Most unfortunately I was promised a $50 refund because I was charged more than my filling the month before. I was told by the receptionist it had been honoured and refunded because the plan I had previous. I waited a week and when no refund showing I called. Yep you guessed it, straight to voicemail. I left a message and no call back 2 days later.
Seriously considering making a complaint.
I also agree the receptionist can be short and abrubt.
It's unfortunate because I did not have any issue with the quality of Neil's work (hence 2 stars, not 1) but I will not be back.

Quite frankly i'm just annoyed that I am compelled to leave this review so I can let it go and move on.

A very wonderful experience as dentists go, all the staff are super friendly and polite, always welcomed with a massive smile.
Shout out to the young dental nurse who calmed my anxiety of being at the dentist though, going above and beyond to make their clients feel comfortable. 10/10

Booked appointment to see hygienist 3 months out (quickest appt available). Get sms sent one month out that appt can’t go ahead.
Then week of appt get sms confirming appt, then 2 days later sms saying appt can’t go ahead, then day before another sms confirming appt? !? !? !
Then get a voicemail the day before appt advising that hygienist doesn’t work on Mondays! Tried calling numerous times - no one answers.
0/10. Do not recommend

After My dental appointment today I come home and seen that rude is a common complaint for this dentist my first appointment he was a bit rude but brushed it off this time he was so rude that I got up and left before he done anything to my teeth very disappointed I will not be returning.

Couldn't recommend this place more. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the office is cosy and calming and the dentistry staff are professional and provide excellent care. All in all best Dentist I've ever been to.

After reading another review regarding being treated rudely by the front receptionist after my visit today I have no doubt it was a genuine review even though they tried to blame another dental practice with their reply. Had only just sat down and started to fill in my details on their tablet when she told me to put on my mask. At the time I was the only person in the waiting area and she was sitting behind a reception area not wearing one. When I asked why she wasn't wearing a mask she immediately became hostile saying i don't need to explain to you i have an exemption. She then said a mask irritates her skin and are you happy now. The dentist came out to see what was happening and I asked him to please ask his receptionist to relax but he just shrugged and said a mask is required. I already had my mask on by this time but i was so shocked by my treatment I decided to leave.and as I left receptionist said ' I don't have to put up with this. " I know we all have bad days but don't take it out on customers please. I've just read your reply and I'm disgusted by your lies. I never was aggressive to anybody and at no time did the male dentist or receptionist ask me to leave as would be the case if I was aggressive. I left due to being rudely treated. The receptionist was belligerent and at no time was in tears LIARS. The replies you leave on these poor reviews are just lies.

My experience with Charlestown Dental could not have been better, I had not been to a dentist in a very very long time because of absolute fear. My dentist was Jackie Smith who is phenomenal in every way, I have been back 2 more times (who would have thought) and still need a couple more treatments. So if yr a chicken like me don't hesitate to go to this surgery, Thank you so much

I went to this place for a quote / advise on replacing a denture with implants. Advised that we don’t do that! Web site said otherwise. Got a referral to another practice and a bill for $116.00. First and last attendance. NOT IMPRESSED

Absolutely love Charlestown dental centre, I have seen dr Neil on both occasions and he has been absolutely amazing and has educated me on many techniques to help with extra dental hygiene at home. He is extremely Thorough and I feel he only has my best interest. Thank you so much and have recommended everyone to your dental clinic!

Underwhelming experience
I took my 9 year old for a general check up and to address two other issues with his teeth. I was seen by (presumably) Dr Liddell, I am presuming because he did not introduce himself and I had worked out indirectly as the receptionist said " Neil won't be too long". It was the briefest of examinations to spot check the teeth and note the findings, then an x ray to investigate the problem. Not a single word about the condition of teeth, presence of yellow plaque and possible option of cleaning and discussion of dental hygiene. When I prompted about brushing technique he provided a brief superficial answer and moved on. No specific treatment to the issues identified were offered, other than writing a referral to another dental clinic. I was not explained why this procedure cannot be carried out in their facility. Essentially, the whole visit was to get an x ray and get a referral. Had I known that I would have presented directly to the second practice and saved my time. After all the hype and preparing for the first dentist visit, it was a very Underwhelming experience both for my son and myself.
As a health care professional I see multiple new patients in clinic settings weekly myself, and this encounter was seriously lacking in several aspects.
Two stars because I do commend Dr Liddell 's bedside manner. Would have been so much better if he took a few minutes to explain.

Booked in for a clean which was done by Neil Liddle. This was my first time visit to this dentist. When arriving at the dentist there were signs advising first time visit for check up and clean do not have to pay a gap. Was the quickest clean I have ever had, which only took 10 minutes. Only thoroughly cleaned my wire on my bottom teeth, did not scale the top row. I have my teeth done every 6 months and this is the poorest clean I have ever had. To my surprise when going to pay, the receptionist advised the dentist was my first visit and he still charged the gap. When checking my item receipt, I had also been charged for an oral examination that was never done. Terrible service for a first time patient. I would never go back or recommend.

Dr Neil Liddle provides exceptional treatment. I feel at ease going to the dentist and know I am going to get the right guidance and information. Dr Neil has provided me with consistently accurate results and keeps me informed throughout my treatments. The staff at CDC are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

My experience at Charlestown Dental Centre was a very positive one. My dental case is complex and the dentist was extremely supportive, professional and went over and beyond to make sure I received the best patient care possible. I would highly recommend this dentist!

Why I am paying money for someone to cut my good teeth! It is a devious practice.
I did a maryland bridge denture in this place. I emphasized "many times" to the dentist "do not cut my good teeth", he said yes and recommened maryland bridge. I thourght he put maryland bridge in without damage my other teeth, I found out the truth until I went to another practice. What a horrible experience!

I felt very comfortable at this dentist and very happy with the result. High quality work and friendly service. I took my children there for their checkups and have been there myself a couple of times now, and will continue to return to this practice.

I've been going to Charlestown Dental Centre for 20 years now and my 3
young children now go there. I can say that the professionalism and care given by the dentists and staff are second to none. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Hi, I went to places to get some work done on my teeth. When I walk in I was nothing but poilet and I was wait for about at least 45 mins for some to severs me.after that wait the lady how severe me what quite rudy to awards me and based make some inquiries and much more.she also was make some mistakes while I was talk to her.the Service that I received was unhelpful disgusting she came across very rude. I ask if I could speak to manger.she said refuse for me to speak to manger. This lady while try make dental appoiment make feeling Quite shock and very uneasy and dissatisfied I basically didnt you want to get my teeth done they're based on this lady and the treatment that I received on a basic inquiry and making a dentist appointment with the dentist.i am not come back for future dental work that's okay I have found another place that I have found instead. Also on top of that I received no honest or genuine an apology from this company. I was in shock I was out raged I walked out and I was out raged I walked out in shock and discussed and etc. Young lady gave me a very poor service this Young lady did not help me out. Not recommended. I have found a new dentist place instead that I am happy with.
