Dear Champagnat, I attended the recent open day on March 24 with my son who will be in yr 7 next year and to say the least I was very disappointed. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a young gentlemen who would be my tour guide for the evening. This young man was very brusque and constantly used profanatory. Afterwards, we all gathered in the assembly hall where we sat on cheap plastic seats and the principal gave his address. I also happened to have a cheeky look at the canteen menu and omg it's so expensive and I question how nutritious the food is. Overall, was a waste of precious time but I shall persist to enrol my son here.
Regards, John.

I was a teacher at Champagnat from 2016 to 2018. During my time at the College I was a english teacher, touch football coach and a proud member of Houston house. Champagnat is a great environment for students and staff and I wish one day I will return to carry on my legacy.

I started working here in the early 90s From being an evil scientist, as the kids loved to call me, to sitting down lazy fixing laptops. Not what I expected after being the class clown. I could have had better time at 711.

But it is a great school and I love to see what the kids have been searching up latley. I love Chinese food here, its incredible!

I used to be assistant principal at Marist Pagewood for many years before moving at the end of 2017. I am writing today to express my sincere disappointment after hearing about the college's downfall since I have left. While I was employed at the college I had the honour of working with brilliant young men and the teaching standard is here is of the highest level. From what I hear the school's culture has changed drastically since I left, from reading other reviews it looks like the school cares more about uniforms & it's appearance then the education. I can assure you that if I were in charge this would not be the case, Whoever is the assistant principal here must resign as they have ruined the school and the fantastic reputation it had when I was there.

I think the students here are top notch kids.
Was fortunate enough to run reef club with one of the kids there.
It was a pleasure to work with Sean Bowes during 2018

My son Bart recently started yr 7 at Champagnat and I am very impressed with how the school has transformed him from a little misbehaving boy to now a young adult. At Champagnat the gents take pride in their uniform and in my opinion are much better looking then the fifthly rat bags at nearby schools Marcellin Randwick & South Sydney high. Moving on, My only concerns about the gents is their behaviour at local bus stops. On a daily basis, I have witness boys in junior uniform enter buses through the back doors or not allowing the public on first. Disgraceful. Lets hope the school tidies it self up before it goes co-ed.

All teachers slightly racist, bystanders to bullying, no support to students they deem lost causes, theyre quietly ruining the futures of many

I'm a student here
Just a few comments of triggered parents saying their students get no support and help. What I've learnt about the teachers at this school if your son is a dropkick and doesn't attempt school they'll get no help, if your son is a dropkick and does try, you'll have teachers encouraging u the entire way. Some teachers here stay back till five every week to do over hours classes just to see us succeed. I started in 7.5 and. 6 now i'm in extension classes.

I don't understand all i did was come to the school to find Perry the Platypus and take over the Tri-State Area but the little assistant principle Mcgee made me shave my head first and i watched him abuse many children so if you are reading this please let him know i will be back.

This school is great because we aboriginals get to enjoy not attending classes, not having to wear uniforms, and being able to get our abo friends together and bash some poor kid.

The principle Blake doggy is an absolute god because he dosent help us learn and macgee is there to tell us to cut our hair

we dont even get free stuff from the canteen, how do they expect us to pay with centerlink money, oh well ill just eat some of me pa's bush tuka

At least i can play basketball but i cant figure out 2+2

The school says to the kids we need to close the gap and end inequality but they treat us like were different anyway

whats the point

The past week I've been set to do my duty in the 2036 area. In this time I've seen many kids with these blue and white shirts tagging around the area in heffron park. I've figured out there are kids from this school. Looking through the reviews showed their assistant principal talk about how he cares more about school uniform than education. Well it obviously doesn't work. I see the kids walking around with their shirts untucked and without a tie. It's a disgrace. Lucky my son carl goes to Marcellin and not this terrible schooling facility. Next time I see students tagging they will be shot on site. I've already arrested 3 kids. And don't get me started on their behaviour at eastgardens. Inside I've had to break up 3 fights that apparently started because one kid didn't "shout" a go bucket. The bus stop is no better, kids screaming and saying profanity. Lucky I bring my first aid bag. A old lady got pushed to the ground by a kid from champagnat and the kid just walked on to the bus like nothing happened. Terrible manners. Please contact me if you would like a convention at school to straighten out these young men.

Honestly this school does not have the time and care to change the appearance of classrooms and yards. They are outdated and ugly and desperately needed updating. Not to mention the many times myself and members of the public have been forcibly pushed to the ground because they think they are better than us. Do not send your child here unless you want to deal with the untidy rooms, rude students, and bad education. #disapointing

The gents are our best advertisements, so we will stay vigilant, and I know that the gate uniform check doesn't work, I will do it for the sake of it anyway. They also can't seem to understand my love for after school assemblies, it's just so fun announcing it over the PA at 2: 59 and waiting to hear the groan echo throughout the whole school, remember it's your time you're wasting, not mine. They also need to remember that there is no one employed at the school to clean up after their mess (except for the cleaners, just gloss over that).

I would also like to take the chance to respond to all the comments that seem to suggest that we care more about the students appearance than an actual education, and to that I say yes. I mean once again the students are our best advertisements.

Disclaimer:
Not actually Paul MacGee (just an incredibly accurate representation).
